        Hello from Pogorobo,

        Today I found this Platinum mod and managed to get it working on an existing profile.  I love it.  BIG THANKS to all the people that made it happen.  I never uninstalled TDU1 after more than ten years playing this wonderful game and now it's so much better.  Using the new mod has fixed a few things such as the wrong ride height / camera views on modded cars that I couldn't get right, and all of the town/place names that appear in white at the upper right corner no longer has broken/unreadable text.  I sold every car except the Alfa Romeo GT, which put over $6 million in the bank, so I've spent quite a few hours buying cars, tuning a few and I really enjoyed cruising around Oahu.  

        I also fixed a Logitech G25 H-Shifter which had four out of six screws missing on the two metal plates either side of the shifting pole so it wasn't firmly held in place.  For months it has been dropping gears and registering the wrong gear.  Now I don't have to use sequential or automatic gears.  This makes a huge difference because in my opinion manually shifting gears in TDU1 is the only way to drive.

        Does anyone know why moving the mouse to change the view around the car would stop working?  My game has been like this for a couple of years at least.  I can't re-install the game because my DVD finally stopped working after having a crack for years in the centre clear ring.  Now I can only use my existing installation which I backed up as an almost 8gb copy before installing the Platinum mod.

          Hey there. Good cruise and a great way to start my career in The Crew since I downloaded it minutes before the cruise. And Doobrie, I can go one better with the no texture loading, ha ha. I was on a bridge when I took the first screenshot. It's happened quite a few times so I'm wondering if that's why the game is free, because there's something wrong with the code that causes this every now and again. I have to press R to reset the car which usually works, but I've also had the game hang at a black screen withe loading circle spinning around. The no texture crash happened twice on the 2 hour around the U.S. cruise which I've just done so I've played about 9 hours today and 9 hours yesterday. I'm knackered!

            I was cruising last weekend so i'm up for a drive to relive our old skool days whenever you're ready, Rebuilda. I know a few months ago Duke was asking me when we're going to get back online and I hate to let the guy down.

             

            The only issue I had to fix was due to the changing/removing of applications that happens with the Windows 10 software updates because this had modified the model of wheel I use from a G25 to a generic blue wheel with only 2 pedals. This also explained why none of the keyboard / wheel mapping was active in the game options.

             

            There are a few posts online about this issue and there are two ways to fix it. The first is to use an older version of the Logitech Profiler. The second way, which fixed it for me, was by using Logitech's own WheelDriverCleaner software to re-set it so that the Logitech Profiler software recognizes a G25 wheel. The G25 came back without the need to re-install it and all of the keyboard / wheel mapping came back in TDU.

             

            If anyone else has this issue on Windows 10 then I hope this helps.

            DVD crack? My disc from 2007 has had a crack in it near the centre since about 2012 and it still works. But every now and again it just spins and won't play the game so I'm just glad I can get it working.

             

            HDR Weather / Day / Night mod. Can anyone suggest a decent version? I've got a few but they're all wrong on the colour schemes with too much pink during the day and too dark at night.

              Hey,

               

              Has anyone manage to get TDU1 working with the GeDeSaTo downsampling tool?

               

              We all love modifying TDU so why not play at a higher res then usual and then down-sampling it? I got it working but I didn't know I had to change the resolution I the game settings. I then re-installed the tool but now my game crashes when loading so I don't know what setting I chose to get it working. Help?

               

              With the HD mod and a decent pc with fps to spare I would like to increase the quality.

                Server works fine. Today was the first time I tried it and I got a stable connection to a maximum of 8 players. It felt good to be back online.

                 

                Many thanks to Comb@t_$hotgun for telling me that I can use my old profile to access HC mode. I found a save game backed up from 2012 before I changed my profile to offline and it worked perfectly. Lots of cars and half a million in the bank. Logging on was error free. I just started the game and re-initialized my gamespy details.

                 

                I like that we can do the singleplayer missions in HC mode. I attempted the millionaire's around the island race but the game locked up after 40 minutes dodging the cops. But that's wasn't anything to do with the server. Great fun. Going to play some more tomorrow.

                  My bad. I come here a few times a week looking for another engine sound or car mod or to find the ride height or cams for a mod that isn't set right.

                   

                  Maybe this new game The Crew will have a simulation mode so we can cruise together for another five years.

                   

                  I'll even wait by the beach while Doobrie makes some toast.

                    i'm in. love tdu1. i still play it every few nights. see you there.

                     

                    Okay I finished cruising in TDU1 with wuwu1978. awesome for an arcade mode driver. new friend too. Yep, i'll be there. Re-install TDU1? I never uninstalled it, lol. I just keep changing car mods to keep it fresh (after 4 years!?) and keep on drifting. That's what TDU2 should have been. An add-on downloadable new island of Ibiza for TDU1. Nowt wrong with the first game. We just need more roads!
