  1. Nice stuff, surprised to see BMWs from you though. :susp:

Lol nice pictures. The cars seem of very good quality too. :nods:

Tanks lads. The BMW is the awesomest mod ever. It's got more customization than any other Forza/GT6 car ever and that is something I totally love. You can change basically everything on the car, the aftermarket parts are all 100% real. The fact that it is a BMW is just a nice bonus, ya know. :cheeky:

Dug up some V snaps from last year:

  2. Out of the D3, BMW is usually the worst. BMW has this $10,842 silver paint and orange peel is still present. It's all because modern automotive paints are water-based and it is the process that causes it AND the lack of quality control and finishing stages. and and and

Rolls can "afford" to do it (and so do the customers), but mainstream manufacturers probably not. There are obviously differences, one might have softer paint with less orange peel than the other, and there might be differences within the manufacturer's range or even model years, but generally speaking, orange peel is everywhere. The AMG GT I have seen at the dealer this year was pretty good, other AMGs there not that much.

  3. Rolls Royce paint quality

What we see here is the lack of orange peel.

I could make a similar photo if the paint on my car would not have more orange peel than an actual orange. Here is a bit blurry photo, but the difference between a €45k and €250k paint is clearly visible.

Although, it has to be said that not all expensive cars come with a perfect paint out of the factory and dealers' PDIs make things even worse.

  4. Thanks. I play it every day - miss the car dearly.

There are probably better mics for the price, it's kinda expensive, and neither I like to waste money, but I bought it because it has a very long cable.

  5. I don't think i'll ever agree with drift mode in a car like this. Executive saloons, especially fast and top-end executive saloons will be driven by those who get their thrills via mistresses/ladies of the night/dealing drugs/taking class A drugs/being a bit of a penis, as much as using drift mode in public would fall under 'being a bit of a penis', I just don't think the Venn Diagram for people who want drift mode and the genuine E63 Market will overlap that much, perhaps a tad, but not enough to make it a necessity.

Do you have a problem with the "drift mode" itself and/or the fact that that it can be RWD? Cuz all AMG E's and M5's used to be RWD for decades.

It is only because of ever-increasing power, drag races, and people with little skill not being able to put all the power down without hitting trees that MB and BMW are switching to AWD.

  6. You can still have a more exciting design than an (insert car) without it being gaudy and over the top.

This is what I have been saying for a long time. Mercs cross the line pretty often, but while the standard E-class look, I don't know, too round, doughy and overall meh, the wider fenders and overall bumper design make it look much better. I don't think they went overboard with the front end. Hm, maybe... slightly, but the V8 needs to be well fed so that it doesn't go into limp mode in Dubai during the summer. Its front air intakes are basically fully open.

The press release says that Edition 1 will have stripes on the bottom of the doors. :burp:
