Not sure if anyone else is interested, just something I'm working on for myself, but i'll release it if anyone wants it when I'm done. Hawaii is nice and all, but I started to miss home ;) If anyone is wondering about accuracy, what to do with palm trees, there are species of palm on the west coast from California, up into Vancouver, Canada. So you get fall leaves and palm trees in the north too. Progress: *located tree images *began colouring process *able to find specific species in game and manage colour spread to keep things random and natural To Do: *locate lo-resolution trees and add colour *link specific lo-res to specific hi res to ensure smoother transition *change grass/add leaves if possible *add leaves to road *DELAYED* unfortunately, do to some personal events, this mod will be delayed for a week or two

When i`m in cockpit view the shadow piss me off...i mean i can`t see the speedometer beacause of the shadow and when i put the car in the light the speedometer is perfect...i need something to remove the shadows in the car. Thanks.

In addition to v1.0 of my Winter Day mod, which have that lovely snowy feeling (http://forum.turboduck.net/showthread.php?t=15771), here comes a special version that has all that, plus few twists into it, to make things a bit more spicy, and more enjoyable. With Maciuk's permission, I was able to incorporate his awesome fog/night settings into this release. With previous 3 types of weather, we got additional 3 for ultimate winter feeling. Now we can enjoy in driving not only on a beautiful snow day, but under heavy fog (my favorite), light fog, or even at night too! Q&A But, Weather Mod by Maciuk already got all those things? What's so different in this release? Weather Mod by Maciuk is weather tweaking at it's best, but it's not intended for winter driving, unfortunately. It was written for summer/autumn setting, and IMHO, doesn't go very well with Opelos_HUN Crazy Winter mod. That's why I decided to make a custom weather .ini specially for Opelos winter mod. I'm happy with the end result, and I'm hoping you will like it too as well. What's new in v2.0? - height of grass/bushes is 20% smaller, - 3 new additional weather types (powered by Weather Mod by Maciuk), - slower time change, - other minor tweaks. Bugs? - Sorry, no improvement on this level. Bugs are the same as in v1.0. That means main map is still covered in fog. And you even may encounter more of them. That's the small price to pay in order to have weather like this... heLLo! Many of us are already enjoying in wonderful crazy winter mod made by Opelos_HUN (which can be found here in case you are wondering: http://forum.turboduck.net/showthread.php?t=15313). Who said driving our fancy cars on Hawaii covered with snow wouldn't be so fun? But, if you played for some time, you probably noticed lack of proper weather that will perfectly suit this cool winter mod. Few weather mods like (Night&Mist, Weather mod by Maciuk...etc.) can be found, yes, they are great... but are made for normal Hawaii sunny summer day. In order to have real winter feeling, we need real winter weather. I'm trying to achieve that snow-is-always-white look and feel. So far, so good. Grayish color is no where to be found. So here comes iLLusion Winter Day mod! At the moment, it has (only) 3 types of weather. In next version(s) I'll try to add few more weather types. I tweaked FX.ini too and edited height and size of grass/bushes, they are a bit larger as if they are covered with bunch of snow. But not everything is so great, and I got major bug - main map is covered with fog. Dunno what happened, and dunno how to change it. So we will just have to used to it. Hey guys. ;) I know I'm a new cookie over here, but I got an idea... Idea about having winter time in Oʻahu! What? But dude, there's no snow on damn Hawaii. You crazy or... high? :confused: I know, I know... it sounds a bit crazy (well, IT IS crazy :cheeky:) but I'm tired of same old Oʻahu, and I believe I'm not the only one. So, hear me out pls. Maybe this snowy idea isn't so bad after all... :coolspot: I've seen new road texture, autumn mod, new grass mod, new sand mod... so we already know what files to edit in order to change appeareance of environment. What if we edit them and add some white color to it? Maybe add some mist too? This is a long shot, but, it's worth to try it. Don't you think so? It's winter time, baby! :thumbsup: So, what do you think? Is it worth all the hassle? Or winter time on Hawaii sucks. :D btw. Hmm, I don't promise nothing, but if I got enough of free time I will try and tweak TDU files in order to transform this default summer time into winter. Stay tuned. :) p.s. Excuse my not-so-well English. :)

For some odd reason the grass and dirt will black out at distance. I tweaked with .dds fil settings and only the DXT1 works but still has this black out issue..weird. I played it a lot back on my PS2 (wow how the PS2 was screwed for content and gfx!!) Either way, i have been an avid modder for the doom community which i was mostly a level designer and texture editor. I am giving a go to making a more "real" looking environment to this game.
