Gamersgate copy trips Anti-Piracy Protection?

Hey,

 

I just bought a copy of TDU from GamersGate (digital download). It downloaded and installed fine, The key they gave me passed SecureROM authentication (even asked me to select the activate once instead of disc based activation), and the key worked in game.

 

Now, upon running a profile with a Gamespy account, it tells me there is an update available (even though the game version says MC 1.66A) which directs me to the none.com website. From poking around this forum, I understand that that is pat of the game's piracy protection.

 

Has anyone else had this issue before? I haven't heard back from Gamersgate yet. Any workarounds?

Contact securom. They should be able to send you a fixed .exe.

 

The none.com site is a way of saying you either have a pirate copy or a no-dvd patch (Seeing as yours is a digital download, the latter is true)

I'm having the same issue, but got an email back from SecuROM saying that the issue doesn't appear to be SecuROM related.

 

Any other ideas? :)
