  1. I too get puzzled why that low of numbers for these engines, I'm guessing for fuel consumption.

I think you're right about this. FWIW, I was reading a forum post and someone was saying in the late 70's/80's (oil crisis and the rising popularity of fuel efficient imports) that domestic manufacturers simply took the engines that they had and seriously detuned them to improve economy.

The 3800sc is the supercharged V6 in mid-late 90's Pontiacs/Buicks right? Cost wise this is probably the best swap. But an LS3 would be epic. Camry V6 wouldn't be that bad either, super reliable and great highway MPGs.

  2. Pretty much. She was talking to me and asked "Guess who I'm hanging out with after school" and I didn't know so she said "My boyfriend!" I literally was speechless. Then she said "Just kidding, he's not my boyfriend." Relieved, I said "Ohhh" and then she finished by adding "Not yet."

    :pathead:

Damn that's cold. Most girls are though.

  3. I'm sad to see Holden go. Over the past 10 years, they were the best products GM made besides the C7 and C6 Z06/ZR1!

Apparently nobody in Australia wants domestic cars. Ford announced a while ago they were pulling out. Funny thing is, everyone outside of Australia wants American-branded Australian cars. Those cars would do well in the US.

  4. I was looking at Mercedes 300TDs but never saw a wagon one. :(

A friend of mine has one. From what I gather it isn't worth it. Slow, not that great to drive, they cost a lot, and when it comes time for resale people only want unmolested, bone stock wagons.

    :hmmm:

That seems a lot like my wagon...

    :run:

  5. Still, let's hope for the best, eh? ;) I can't take my eyes off the Imprezas atm so these 3 are becoming more and more likely options...

Which one? Depends on how much money I have after my army service. Probs the middle one :nods: I'd love to have a newer Audi but generally speaking they are out of my price range :/

Any of them. The WRX and STi's are pretty quick. Plus those were the Imprezas that actually looked good.

  6. This, my dear friend, is called an ''internet meme'', which according to Wikipedia is ''an idea, style or action which spreads, often as mimicry, from person to person via the Internet, as with imitating the concept.''

I know that. But what is it supposed to mean? That all car enthusiasts go sideways and speak Engrish JDM Japanese?

  7. Wow

    Very stance

    Such clean

Where did this start? Saw it on another forum, now I see it everywhere?

    Mini returned, BMW back :D

Lol the badges on that Mini... reminds me of overbadged American pickups.

  8. Aren't HID retrofits illegal?

I guess it depends where you live. But so long as you are smart about it and install them with headlights that have projectors then I don't see why it would be a problem. Now there are some people who install them in reflector headlights and that just blinds everybody.

Yeah, I know a fair amount of E82/E9x owners have aftermarket DEPO's ...

You probably won't have to change the headlights themselves, so long your car comes with projector headlights you can install HIDs without blinding anyone.

  9. If I were you I'd go with an aftermarket HID retrofit kit. You'll easily spend 2 grand on parts for an OEM swap, and then find out you can't because some computer is missing. If you go aftermarket you can get a quality brand for about $200-300. Check out The Retrofit Source.

  10. All of those three make one of the best of the best cars...

Mercedes makes the best luxury car, the S-Class.

BMW make the best sports car and sports sedan, the M3 and M5 (I guess now the M4 and M5).

Remind me, what does Porsche make?

    :cheeky: x1000000000
