  1. I should be getting this.... the only thing that I don't like is the whole festival thing but hey, I've also survived Solar Crown
  2. Little update on the AMG hypercar story: during the Spa GP, a Petronas crew member would have announced to one or multiple parties (including EVO) that the hypercar is in development for an introduction in 2018. Power would come from an engine based on the 1.6 V6 of the F1 cars combined with at least 2 electric motors. It would also feature a lot of aerodynamic enhancements in similar style to that new AM Red Bull thing. EVO speaks of a car limited to 50 units with a pricetag of several millions each. Perhaps the F1 cars have simply been mules all the time lol... I have doubts regarding the engine thing, but basically the whole story. Yet it does keep me (and the whole brand-dedicated team at work) sort of excited for more info.
  3. Aaaaaand it's delayed: http://blog.us.playstation.com/2016/08/30/gran-turismo-sport-update/ Didn't say till when in 2017 lol...
  4. For any PC players fearing they'd have to pay for Xbox Live Gold to go online, this sounds like nice news by somebody called JONK1969 at the Forza forums. His profile mentions Turn10 Staff as profile rank. I was already wondering if FH3 would make PC players pay to be able to go online, but seems not. Again, all online modes, auction house, clubs, etc. will work on PC just as they do on Xbox One. You don't need a Gold subscription to play any of the online modes on a PC. If for whatever reason you don't want to play online with PC players, or with Xbox One players, you will have the option to filter matchmaking by platform, but of course we encourage everyone to have fun with the game with as many players as possible in Horizon 3 via Cross Play. This has been answered clearly and repeatedly, but I'll answer it again. No, you do not have to have a Gold subscription to play online over Xbox Live on a PC. 5. Thanks for your info, that's quite useful to read. It's not too late yet, I still need to find out where the mistake is at and how to fix it. I'll try that WhoCrashed thing. And guess what, since I downloaded it, I've played ETS2 for a few times (while it's 25-30 degrees in my room this whole week) and it hasn't crashed (yet)... This is just stupid :-x
  6. CC's rear end looks like a current Merc (insert letter) coupe, especially with those tail lights. On a side note I doubt these are patent images, which would require the brand logo's to be left out, or at least that's what always has been the case. I think they're more promotional pictures for press releases (like the stuff that ends up on netcarshow.com). EDIT: looks better in black :nods: Those wheels look very nice too (minus the dirt and missing centercap), any idea on what they are? Merc seems to be testing more with these wheels but they're not from MB or AMG... ADV perhaps?
  7. Just turn them into combustible lemons, or make life's manager take them back.
  8. Remember that Volvo Iron Knight Truck? 2400 hp, 6000 Nm of torque and weighs 4500 kg. It's specifically designed for record runs and the only things that are taken from the roadgoing FH's are the engine (heavily modified) and the I-Shift Dual Clutch transmission. Here are averaged the results of the record run: Standing start: 500 m: 13.7 sec - 131 km/h 1000 m: 21.29 sec - 169 km/h
  9. I love conventional looking zero-emission cars, and yes that's mainly the Tesla. The Leaf, Prius, Insight, i3, Mirai... I understand the designers want to make it look very special already, but that's fine for other people. Just closing off the entire grille is already quite drastic imo, let alone come up with some hideous shape and styling like the Leaf or Prius, or all those wacky colors like BMW i's. There's also stuff I dislike about the Tesla Model S. I like cars with a center tunnel, and I've seen a Model S up close and wasn't blown away by the finish of the car in overall terms,it's clearly American (aka not on European level of finishes and feels). Also don't like the massive screen on the dash. But still I'd think it's the one I'd feel 'best' in to drive/own. Cars I'd consider: Ford Focus EV Hyundai Tuscon fuel cell Merc B-Class Electric Drive Merc SLS Electric Drive (lol) Tesla Model S Tesla Roadster
  10. Ye I'll have no choice, it's that or just building an entirely new system again. But I'm not doing that, this one costed me way too much to ditch it after 1,5 year.
  11. No problem, it's purely just mentioning it for later improvement rounds. You run the place, you decide if, how and when :p
  12. No. Any ''spare'' would simply have to be bought.
  13. Issue: I start the pc, and want to do something like playing a game or using 3ds max while listening music. The PC will crash by freezing up, with infinite soundloop of the tone on that moment, and everything's irresponsive. It's not a fixed set of circumstances, it can happen after 5 minutes but also nearing an hour after starting of the ''activity''. Frequency: 99% of the cases it happens just once a day and usually after I rebooted from the crash, I could play GTA V for 9 hours in a row without issues. But crashing has also happened 3 times in a row several rare times, and it has also not happened at all a few times. Amount of time to trigger the issue can be between 5 and 30 minutes. Workaround: Hit the reset button, and it reboots. Often but not always it leads to a boot-up with non-responding keyboard (pressing caps or numlock doesn't make the lights go on/out), mouse and internet adapter. In such cases, I hit reset a second time to try and get the keyboard, mouse and adapter to be recognized again. Trivial: - always registered as a Kernel ID41 event, most of the times with entirely empty windows logs. This event ID happens to be one of the most vague ones out there with too many people having too many different reasons it happens. - can't be caused by overclocking because my system runs default settings - can't be caused by overheating because I monitored the temps and they never went crazy - Memtest'ing each RAM stick separately for hours in a row resulted in 0 errors for each of the 4 sticks (yes, they're in the correct slots) - stresstesting through various software could go on for hours in a row without any errors - can't be caused by conflicting audio drivers (mentioned on the interweb), but the pc always resets and activates everything at start anyway so this is in the class of alternative healing methods... - can't be caused by a faulty PSU, or I have bought 2 faulty PSU's in a row. - can't be caused by un-grounded sockets/outlets, I had this done over a year ago and it didn't help. - can't be caused by a faulty Windows install, I have tried reinstalling 8.1 twice, then installed it again to freshly update to windows 10, and it still happens. - tried installing latest drivers for GPU, intel chipsets, BIOS, all didn't work Your point of ''just replace everything'' might be the only thing left. I'm thinking it's the motherboard, and that means rebuilding a new pc plus a new motherboard and perhaps new CPU etc... so it's really going to be a new pc again this way. Nice.
  14. Took me a year, but I finally decided to get the PSU replaced. So I just tried testing it on my new Cooler Master V-Series 850W instead of my Corsair RM650. Basically I could have also typed that I went to the toilet and used bills of a total of 160 euros to clean my behinds with, because that's how much it helped me out. Started up PC, started up ETS2, spawned in a calm, traffic-poor scandinavian city, drove 2 minutes before the crash happened again. So we're back at the beginning, although I do have a nice 850W PSU now I guess... and a 650W in a box, and nowhere near a solution.
  15. Designer of the Ferrari Enzo has made his own version of the Ferrari Rossa (or at least, it looks like a modern version of it). It's called the kode57, it's powered by a 611 hp V12 and there would also be a Novitec Rosso version with 672 hp. No word on production plans yet.
  16. True, plus if you're going to decide on the right of existence for products in such way, you'll have to pull this reasoning across everything, and then you'll find out how bizarre life will become if you ban everything that has features or specifications that extend beyond basic functionality for all-day use...
  17. Just read it up on the web, the only reason people remember it is because of the aerobatics Robik showed with the vid, which happend twice with Mark Webber and once with Peter Dumbreck. They only made 3, 2 were eventually destroyed in the practice/races and the #6 on the above picture is the only remaining one and in private hands now. It only survived because it was retired from the race before it even joined. Remembered a few more lines I heard that really annoy me: - a colleague of mine in car business: ''a car should cost as little as possible, I just want the cheapest I can find''. Quite the statement for somebody who went to work for an automotive OEM supplier. He also prefers a brand new car with full warranty for under 10K, of which there are 0 in holland unless you count in those little Aixam things you don't need a license for. I've just wished him good luck with it  - people saying that cars with a lot of power and high top speeds are absolutely useless because ''you're only allowed to do 120 max on the roads anyway''. Too bad such people are also trying to ru(i)n the EU, I remember they seriously discussed the subject forcing speed governing to 150 km/h.
  18. And that's also a mistake of the vid: it's CLK-GTR, or CLR. There's no thing like a CLR-GTR other than in my humble imaginary world, and that was because as a kid, the names made no sense to me so I just smashed the CL and CLK-GTR together, the way I thought Merc treated their names. :p
  19. That's funny, I thought the front end was based on new Mazda's... EDIT: :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
  20. That Cadillac looks very good, except for the steering wheel, it looks so flimsy. BMW looks nice too, nice idea but I would have pushed harder to build in real lights instead of those decal lights on the bumper.
  21. No it's not :p . The CLK-GTR was very succesful and won the championship in its season of entry. The car that was flying was the CLR. Totally different chassis, different design, and different engine (V12 vs V8).
  22. One to add from my side: people saying the CLK-GTR was the famous flyer.
  23. Based on a Volvo FH (though the article doesn't state in just looks or also actually in construction), it has a fiberglass cab and its 13 liter diesel engine is tuned by adding 4 turbos and a watercooled intercooler to make 2400 hp and 6000 Nm torque. Reason it exists? Just to get some speed record. :D
  24. The Merc+Renault statement doesn't work when it's specifically an '08 C, that was the previous generation. Renault engines are found in the A, B, CLA, GLA, C, GLC, Citan and Vito.
  25. Well it's already quite a big step they tried to make something remotely expectable on the road out of that Vision GranTurismo thing... Who knows.
