  1. Judging from other pictures such as below, you are referring to the DRL's or indicators, and not the main light units which are on the top corners of the intake.
  2. Song I heard in a video about the K9 unit of the Rotterdam-Region Police Department. And also: Song I heard in a 'tribute' video for one of the players of my favorite football club when he returned after 2 months of absence.
  3. They did the same in the 80's and 90's and nobody said a thing, Audi does the same thing now and it works, VAG does it cross-brand and it seems to work, so why not :p. Though I agree the E could have been something better, something more recognizable. One of the key things were double headlights and the tail lights extending onto the trunk lid, and what do you know, it lost both
  4. Lexus LC 500 A car apparently intended as a competitor for the 6-series and E-Class Coupe. Powered by a 5.0 V8 with 477 hp from the GS-F and RC-F, it does 0-60 mph in under 4.5 seconds.
  5. Back-end shot (haaa haaa..... hm) of the Lexus. Seems they can play the same game as the German premiums do with their exhausts, or even worse:
  6. Nice car that Buick. Now to wait for America's true influence: rebadge it for at least 3 brands, including former saleschampion Opel, and ruin all 3 cars by making them too cheap to touch and overpriced for their class. Also today: meet the Lexus LC. A bit radical styling but somewhere I really like it: And Aston Martin posted this, a video for the new 5.2 twin turbo V12:
  7. I've seen far worse front ends (on cars): Didn't see this one popping up :
  8. Can't believe this stuff is for sale in Holland: 1952 Jaguar XK120 OTS Roadster, 65.200 km, 119.500 euros. 1955 Jaguar D-Type, 10 km, 225.000 euros. 1930 Cadillac V16 452 Dual Cowl Phaeton, 43.665 (miles I guess...), price on request
  9. I agree with most, except the AMG GT and CLS, you can only mistake those for others if you have your eyes shut. The CLS hasn't followed the wrap-around-grille headlights and has unique body sides, and the AMG GT only gets near the SL because of the general shape of the headlight, but nothing else (bumpers are different, and grille on the facelift SL is now upside down creating more difference).
  10. Here's the new E-Class. Those who expected it to be a C XL or a mini S: you've advanced a round for the refrigerator! Not liking it. Too much the same, too easily done. Just like with the initial introduction of the current gen SL, seeing 1 photo is enough to already get interested in its successor. The coupe can save perhaps save it a little bit, the AMG won't be a surprise... Who wonders what will be done to the CLS? It could become a Mercedes-badged A# Sportback . Low-res thanks to Autoblog.nl.
  11. @Myk: you should take a look at how they do things then. The Zonda already existed since the late 90's. True special editions with weird paints, ego-tripper initials, upcoming-economy satisfiers and more of such yeehaw didn't start showing up right after launch but after some years. Just because not all exotic-supercar CEO's are shouting as loud as others doesn't mean they're not doing well.
  12. Better cooling and reduced fuelconsumption due to better airflow around the vehicle is not a ''because race car'' thing. Mercedes spent quite some resources in getting just this right on the B-Class...
  13. Isn't that the front splitter also as often used on race cars? Bit of a sportier way to emphasise the mouth and perhaps better airflow for cooling and/or fuelconsumption.
  14. Bugatti Chiron. Wondering if the claims of 467 km/h and a ~2.2 0-100km/h time are true. Wondering if the base version will become the rarest one just like the Veyron, though I bet this is something for 2017/2018 onwards. Aston Martin DB11. It's supposed to have an AMG heart with finishing touches from AM themselves. Very curious to hear it. Apollo 'Arrow'. Formerly the Gumpert brand, it's been sold to some Hong Kong investors who also own De Tomaso (or what's left of it) and want to sell De Tomaso branded vehicles for their own market (if my experience is anything to go by, DT is for sale again before summer...). So now they own Gumpert, renamed it and already have something to show for Geneva. This could get interesting, positively or negatively. Ford GT. Wondering how close this car manages to stay to the concept, and what liveries they will come up with. Mercedes-AMG GT R. More extreme version of the GT S with some active aero thingies, less weight and without a doubt some extra power. Mercedes-AMG E63 S (4MATIC?). The outgoing E63 in S 4MATIC version goes from 0-100km/h in 3.6 seconds (3.7s Estate). I'm wondering if they'll do the same again with the upcoming new gen E. Although it loses weight, it also lost 1,5 liters of displacement and it's still a big car. Pagani Huayra "BC". More agressive Pagani is always good. Show it, let us hear it. Pretty small list I think, the Ford GT and E63 might as well could have stayed out of the list, but ye, minimal interest is still interest I guess.
  15. Dutch millionair, former 918 owner, multi-Veyron owner and to-become Chiron owner Perridon took one of his Veyrons to Trust 2Fast Touzani Tour, people could win a ride in the car as passenger. Some reactions:
  16. Pagani just threw in a teaser, meet the Huayra BC: And in other news, Gumpert (of the radical Apollo) might have been saved. Ideal TeamVenture, the same party who bought DeTomaso in June 2015, are the new owners. They have renamed Gumpert GmbH to Apollo Automobil GmbH and their first vehicle, codenamed Arrow, will be introduced in March on the Geneva Motor Show. They will perhaps provide some first details on January 11th when the new website will be launched >here<.
  17. Managed to stay out of trends and fashion No serious health issues. Hired at an explosively growing developer/supplier to OEM's Built a pc by myself for the first time Got a new room in the top of the house with new bed and furniture Been to Berlin Been to Merc Museum and saw my favorite prototype in real Been to Porsche Museum My favorite football club became champion after 8 years and in december managed to advance to the last 16 of Champions League in some tight but awesome games. :D List of negatives ain't interesting, I'm a born pessimist anyway.
  18. Ye as usual :p My preferences, dislikes and way of spending time won't really change. Cars... for those interested, expand spoiler. Short story: can't make up my mind after redoing the numbers. It's all equally bad for the wallet anyway. Here's a new year resolution: get the [insert-not-polite-words-here] PSU of my computer swapped for one that has no desire of faceplanting the system while I'm doing GTA or something.
  19. Following Hassan's ambition of spending money, I want to upgrade in terms of car. Don't know what I can expect since I've been going back and forth too often since I started the ''hunt'' around summer this year. Also, since I recently made up my mind yet again on what it should become, this could take a while. Other than that... not much really. Continue work as usual, continue hobbies as usual, moan as usual.
  20. The Focus in quite some countries did not include a spare wheel unless you shouted the salesman ''spare wheel included or no deal''. Common tactic to save weight, reduce consumption and get a cheaper vehicle (although most of this ends up being theoretical gain of unnoticable scale).
  21. TVR might be on the point of do-return. Apparently this image was recently sent to all who are in TVR's current customer database: The unconfirmed story goes that it's being revived by British millionaire Les Edgar. The car itself would be designed by Gordon Murray, get a Cosworth V8 and be faster than the axe-bashed Sagaris. More information on the engine specs, the price and start of production would be disclosed early next year. And here's an interesting one: the Daihatsu Copen. Already in its second generation now it comes with 3 body styles thanks to a modular build-up which in theory would allow a Smart-like principle of visiting the dealership to have the bodypanels replaced and get a different car back (ish). There's a classic version that looks like the first generation, a more modern looking one, and a wilder version of the modern one. And now, Daihatsu made these concepts: a Copen '4C' and a Copen Shooting Brake (finally a real one, with just two doors)
  22. Every car has such things. How much percent of the grille is actually open these days on cars? Though I agree it would have fitted better if there was a 2.5+ engine in it.
  23. *mumbles something about a saturated second-hand market*... Oops. Anyway, 'interesting development' is one way you could call it, I guess. And with the average prices for average driving school lesson packs (20-30 practice lessons..... driving that is.... the car ofcourse, after having self-studied the theory and do 1 theory exam) usually between 1500 and 2500 euros, this might sound like a deal to quite some. This makes me curious though, somebody must be going to track the numbers behind this. This could get awkward. :eek2: That Saleen S7 story btw was an awesome read... maybe it also explains why the S5S eventually never made it, considering which parties it took to get just the S7 off the ground.
  24. I had that especially with the helicopter footage of this landing. Always saw rockets land like this in cartoons, sci-fi's etc, and now it's real :D
  25. Short video on another Space-X attempt to land a Falcon 9 rocket booster on a launch pad. And guess what... And here's a longer video: :D
