Sorry for being unable to smell what you have and have not found on the internet. But then it still leaves me with some questions: So, the info I shared above is what you found out. You voiced doubts about it being a manufacturer testing vehicle. Where does it state that #107 was privately owned by a customer on the date of the crash? If you see those links to the swedish registration database, you can see it's been bought back by Koenigsegg. Why do you still have to question it's current form of ownership then? It's owned by Koenigsegg, not by a customer.

I can't make it clearer that you can't enter industry pool manufacturer sessions with a customer owned road-insured vehicle. That's just common sense plus a little bit of knowledge I have from my Spyker job and a colleague who did certification for them. Test vehicles need special documenation and insurances and the manufacturers need to comply with special regulation before they can get such an approval for a car. It's not as easy as getting your Big Brother label on a car and you're suddenly able to floor it anywhere you want. Let alone a customer who pays so much money for a car, only to not drive it himself but have it filled with measuring equipment all over the place and have somebody else flat it out on a track. Kind of silly would that be. I never stated the info in my last post was in the press release. It was stated by a dutch source. Also, the license plate is not german but swedish, since the german plate was D FU 107. Just by typing Koenigsegg #107 in google gives you more than enough info. Also: 107 - One:1 Clear CF Gold? - Page 4 - BMW M5 Forum and M6 Forums 2014 Koenigsegg CCX (YAK136), Svart / 1366 hk på biluppgifter.se Agreed it's not the same license plate as visible on the pictures, I assume there are some exemptions or possibilities there for small manufacturers. Also a quote:
-
Stolen. There was a plate on one of the close-ups reading K TNX BAI.
-
Here it is: the crashed Koenigsegg was One:1 number #107. It was delivered to a german customer in 2014 but bought back by Koenigsegg. They will rebuild it, btw. Little wonder, ofcourse they need special insurance and legal conditions to meet before they participate in Industry Pool. And you can't get that done with a privately owned vehicle under regular insurances.
-
I don't see why it's not at all clear but ok, maybe I'm just applying the wrong common sense to the story then that Industry-Pool means industry-only with full responsibility and insurances at the manufacturer, something that's not the case with a privately owned vehicle that will most likely have been modified to get road approval.

I was wondering why the neighbours had a floodlight in their garden on at midnight...

Car Spotting: What You Saw Recently! - Part 2
CLR-GTR replied to The Queen's topic in Automotive Discussion
Was at the '16 DTM. Ofcourse the spectator stand tickets come with paddock access, and considering we got there at like 14:00 and the race started at 18:00 we had a bit of time to walk around, with seagulls ensuring we weave just as much as the cars do on the pre-race lap. :nods: Race itself was nice. No big crashes where we were sitting (stand T3, exactly in the middle), but a LOT of exhaust pops and bangs. Here, the brands managed to reflect themselves well. The Audi's had less hearable pops and bangs than the Mercs and BMW's, the BMW's were slightly sharper in engine-sound, and the AMG's were just vulgar cannons going off when they approached a turn. Ofcourse, being Zandvoort, the organization had to commit in 16.786-fold that the event would be green. Because the first thing you do when you want to move and live somewhere else, is to find a location that has a fun thing, and then complain just as long until it gets banned/destroyed/abandoned. Perhaps no such luck now though, with the whole track park now being owned by a (racing) member of the royal family. So to commit to the green thing, have an old BMW and an A45. Audi went for a different approach and took along something orange. Jubilation all over as the sweeper took victory after nothing short but domination during the race. The crowd, obviously, went totally wild. That means that the Audi "Schieb-ihn-raus" RS5 didn't win. Perhaps they should abort testing with splicing cars during pitstops for better investigation. Oh yes, and Merc got nostalgic, again, and went totally silver arrow with their F1 car in disguise.- 3,087 replies

Worked fine the 2 times I've used it so far. Only notices I have are: - in the future allow more images to be uploaded in one go? like up to 5 or something? - please disable the description field to be mandatory? but maybe that's just me, using it as a quick dump for the forum posts :p

No, I just wanted to give a bad reason I don't play it. I just don't like pokemon, never followed it, and I just find it silly to see people chase em all over the place. And like that, I'll have my things people will wonder wtf. Balanced :D

Considering it's already causing traffic accidents, massive gatherings and people running into hospitals and onto rooftops and graveyards to catch that stuff... I'll pass. The less I can be a part of this, the better.

I missed this, but WHY DID THEY DO THIS? Why are they opting for the ugliest solution? I want that canopy :( Though perhaps a small positive side, mister Horner would have said if this will be the solution he'll vote against these devices. He wants to spend more time to get a more elegant solution.

No Miura? No 300SL? And why the R8, 8C and 911? Definitely a malfunctioning list imo. The latter 3 are GT's/sportscars, but not supercars imo. Supercars should be among the best available in their time. For a 911 that would have to be a GT RS GT3 GT2 GT1 whatever thing. 8C's just a GT and the R8 perhaps on the edge considering it's a Gallardo in business suit. EDIT: mý list: Bugatti Veyron (because you can't ignore the fact they made an easy to drive comfortable 400km/h machine) Ferrari F40 (what can you say? it's a legendary car) Jaguar XJ220 (when Jaguar acted like Ubisoft in pulling features from a new concept car, but the XJ220 still remains high on my list of supercars, being one of the 90's legends) Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary (so extreme, so non-Audi, just perfect) Lamborghini Miura (once again, it's a Lambo, and it was at the top of the offer in its days, just like the 300SL credited as perhaps the first true supercar) McLaren F1 (production car v-max record holder till the Veyron I think, a 3 seater, yea this was very special) Mercedes CLK-GTR (at its time the most expensive car for sale, and it's an actual racecar, just with leather pads across the interior) Mercedes 300SL (see F40 description) Pagani Zonda (any of em, just really bizarre machines made because there were materials to do so and one guy wanted to, no silly business case analyses or whatever and no style that has to satisfy 90% of the people on earth) Porsche Carrera GT (for some reason I just find this one way more interesting than the 918 and I think it will hold/increase value better, but that's all guessing) Honorable mentions: Bugatti EB110 GT Ferrari F50 Ford GT Porsche 959 Porsche 911 GT1 Koenigsegg

@Mike: none? You expect me to carry those 1700+ kg on my back to work? @all: seems option 4 really seems to be a favorite. I also showed these pics on the dutch mercforum and the first 4 replies were also straight to the 7-spokes. And I myself also keep returning to those 7-spokes. They are very different from the other AMG rims which are nearly always 5-spoke, single, double or 'triple'. I like to make a combination of wheels and car that you don't see every time you search for pictures of that car. Ofcourse that could also mean just to slam some Vossen or ADV1 or whatever on it, but I like to stay close to Merc+AMG themselves.
-
Well they are sorta working on something like that I assume. I read for example Merc quickly wants to up the number of EV's in order to have nearly every 'Class' available in plug-in and/or EV version. Those would be introduced under a new sub-brand like BMW i, which I think behind the scenes is also in development to have more vehicles. But ye, people only judge on what they release, and Tesla as a new-comer in the car world really leaped over the rest.
-
4 to 5K would be acceptable I think considering it's high performance. I think with a bit of use a similar AMG or M would need the same savings set aside.
-
Been messing a bit in Word to see what other wheels I'd like. Basically all are sort of sized to the 18" that are on now, but in reality I think most of em are 19". 20 and over is a no-go, so are all black wheels except for the AMG 7-twinspokes.
-
Purchase definitely very cheap, I think it won't be difficult finding somebody to buy it. But I'd pass: - I find the low price suspicious (and I don't like the owner just tossing the VIN on the web like this). - it's USA spec. Many people I encounter on car forums seem to love it, but I can't stand those reflectors. - I assume it's a private seller, that means no warranty, and for a car that's been offered for this price, even after a 100% green pre-purchase inspection, I still wouldn't take the gamble.
-
Mercedes and BMW have been working on electric vehicles since the 70's, BMW perhaps even earlier than that. I think they have their own rather careful ideas on how to bring them to the market with everything that surrounds an EV, though it's indeed rather silly to see that Tesla goes ahead by quite a margin in this. I'm sure though that with the Mission-E and VAG's hunt for clean vehicles (which has most likely already caused the Phaeton as we know it to be axed) will only be speeding it up... but 2 mph instead of 1 is still quite slow
-
And apparently Mercedes has announced they don't agree with the decision of the penalty for Rosberg so they're going to fight it. :rtr:
-
It would be nice if the production spec EXP10 looks more like the concept than this thing minus the tape and dirt, the total image of the concept car for some reason just seems to fit better. Few more pictures of it:
-
Interesting, sporty looks by the lower nose borrowed from that concept (Speed 6?). I don't like that sharp line on the rear panel though, neither do I like those headlights. I'd would have liked to see them do something new with those.
-
Very curious about the performances if it really is that much faster than anything else out there right now. Caparo T1 and Chiron would be the ones to beat then I'd assume, so what would it result in? 2.0 seconds to 100 km/h and a top speed over 440 km/h?
