1. Pffft, second place is the first loser, anyone after that is even worse. Anyone but Dan should hang their head in shame.
2. Guys if you don't have anything constructive to say, let's not post anything at all. Let's keep this thread clean for constructive comments about the Mod in question. If you wish to discuss this with me further kovalsky, feel free to send me a message. Thanks.
3. Thanks OZ! That'd be really appreciated :D I'll edit the circuit 458 into the first post now. Thanks for your contributions! Can't wait for the pics :)
4. The Chiron has steadily grown on me as a design, I suggest for everyone to look through the pictures on this jalopnik article to get a better idea of some of the design cues and to see the rear wing in action: Bugatti Chiron: This Is A Lot More Of It I watched a motortrend video earlier on the bugatti ( ) they had first access or something to see it and interview the team behind it. A lot of them seem to throw the 273mph figure around in the video, meaning either things have changed since they first made the video, that they set their expectations a bit lower, they simply failed at achieving them, or that they're saving that 273 top-speed figure for the more crazy model that is undoubtedly going to arrive in the next year or two. All in all they've succeeded in bringing the Veyron into 2016, I like the design of the Chiron. The headlight design looks like the exhausts off of the galibier concept (RIP), the rear looks great too. It manages to look classy, futuristic, draw your attention and let you know you're looking at something special without looking OTT and chavvy like the lambo also featured in this thread. I probably thought the same about the veyron way back when, I soon got bored of that, but I hope I don't with the chiron :nods:
5. The new Bugatti Chiron: image from Top Gear | The world’s greatest car website, from the team behind the telly show. News, videos, and reviews of every car on sale in the UK. 261mph top speed 1,479 bhp Strengthened version of the veyron's seven speed twin-clutch gearbox. Costs £1.9 million Four Wheel Drive 0-60mph in less than 2.5 seconds 0-186mph in 13.6 seconds, 2.9 seconds quicker than a P1. Weight comes in at 1995kg
6. So the Geneva Motor show takes place this week, often one of the most important weeks in the car industry. This 2016 year doesn't seem to have anything ridiculously important waiting to be unveiled but there might be a surprise or two. So far: The 2017 Porsche 911 R: images from Jalopnik - Drive Free or Die The GT3RS 4.0's N/A 500bhp engine. Rear Wheel Drive Manual gearbox The Ford Fiesta ST200: Images from Auto Express | New and Used Car Reviews, News Advice Power boost to 197bhp from the 1.6 litre engine New paint colours available New alloys shaves 0.2 off the 0-60, now takes 6.7 seconds 143mph top speed. Lots more to come! Please contribute to the thread :)
7. SES-9 MISSION | SpaceX They're attempting (for the third time) to launch the SES-9 mission, they'll also be trying the weird landing thing again. This time with some upgrades to the Falcon-9. The launch will happen in less than 6 minutes from now, so be quick :D Might get cancelled within 2 mins of launch like past time.
8. More leaked pictures of the upcoming Aston DB11: images from Autocar Not liking the contrasting pillars, this is an expensive GT/supercar, not an Audi A1/Peugeot RCZ :/ FAIL.
9. Yeah fingers crossed they're still not playing catch-up too much this season, I don't think 'improvement/progress' is enough, they need to be scoring a decent amount of points.
10. Reminds me of some of the racing tracks on PGR4 :nods: As for Quali, it's annoying me, either start it on race 1 or next season, I don't like the idea of it changing mid-season.
11. So, Lambo's 100th birthday is coming up and they're celebrating it with a reventon-esque crazy edition lambo (based on the Aventador I think). The patent drawings of the car were revealed: The german auto site autobild made a render of it: Obviously this is an external (very well done) render, and not the final product supposedly, it's got a very Ford GT look about the rear half, but it just isn't working for me? It looks squashed haha.
12. LOVE a good Hitman game! Blood Money is one of my fav games of all time. Some nice throw backs to the previous games in that trailer :nods: Can't wait for this.
13. Have you jailbroken your phone? :hmmm: I did that when I was younger with my 3GS, haven't done it since. Love your background nfsMIB, but be careful around here, some of the others really have a thing against us apple users :p
14. I've never really warmed to the Coupé, it looks too much like a convertible with a hardtop in place, rather than a car designed to be a coupé. The Wraith does a good job of fixing that :nods: So i'm more than happy if that is their replacements.
15. McLaren have released a new version of their 570S, the 570GT: images from Jalopnik - Drive Free or Die Redesigned rear end, with that glass hatchback allowing for easy access to a slightly larger cargo area (to make it easier to live with day to day). Panoramic sunroof, making it feel lighter and more spacious inside. Exhaust is 3 decibels quieter. 3.4 sec to 60 (0.2 slower than the S), but will still reach over 200mph. Iron brakes, not ceramic, as they're easier to live with day-to-day. I really like it, that new rear hatch is a huge improvement, and the panoramic sunroof makes it look better from the front too. This is a seriously amazing piece of kit imo.
16. This is for 2017 yah? They have until April to confirm/all decide on these changes. The elimination process might be good, might be bad, will have to see it in practice. The ballast style reverse-grid is not a good idea however, really hope that doesn't get implemented. My main issue here is that Qualifying was never one of F1's issues, and it has SOOOOO many issues at the moment, why are they focusing on qualifying? It really is absolutely hilarious. They do NOT understand.
17. Just to back up my point on Chris Harris' opinion of Winkelmann
18. The double eye look has grown on me, I genuinely love the Conti GT V8S, the new Bentayga has grown on me a lot, I actually love it now. The new Flying Spur Speed is rather hawt too. I think i'd have to compare the back seats of a specced out Flying Spur in comparison to the Mulsanne before making the decision as to which i'd choose.
19. So, Lamborghini boss Stephan Winkelmann is leaving for Audi's Quattro division (developing the RS audis). His tenure at Lambo has been an odd one, he's a very principled character and quite stuck in his ways. His way of dealing with the press has been criticised (Chris Harris being a good example of this, his opinion of Winkelmann is quite easily found on the interwebz :p). The new Lambo boss will be Stefano Domenicali, you might recognise that name as he used to be the boss at Ferrari's F1 team. He wasn't exactly the most successful team principle by the end of his shift at scuderia. What will this mean? Lambo focusing more on motorsports? (F1 in the future perhaps..... VAG have been sniffing around that sport and we've had it confirmed that they'd have got into bed with Red Bull if it wasn't for dieselgate). He is a very likable chap from the interviews i've seen wit him in F1 so hopefully this will be an improvement in lambo's PR :D Lamborghini appoints former Ferrari F1 chief Stefano Domenicali as boss | Autocar
20. Need to see that Maserati in a different colour/spec I think, the rear diffuser area mixed with that off-white colour makes the design look slightly dated already.... The big deal for me will be the sound the petrol version makes, the GranTurismo is 90% about the noise haha, if this doesn't make that great a noise I'm not sure what purpose it serves. Here's the new renault scenic, and jesus, it's actually rather nice  --- Post Updated --- In other news..... Bentley has ruined the Mulsanne, I was a huge fan of the pre-facelift :( Images from Top Gear | The world’s greatest car website, from the team behind the telly show. News, videos, and reviews of every car on sale in the UK. This wider grille looks a bit awkward, I think it's the mesh that I don't like? The actual size of the grille isn't a big deal. The inside of the LWB version is amazing  Shame about the new front bumber/grille though :(
21. I don't think they do forget, Hamilton is just a 'salty' kinda guy even when he wins.
22. Yeah it's a high possibility, I expect Ferrari to be closer but still not there yet. However Vettel complaining about it is still WAYYYYYYY too ironic for my liking, surely he understands out of everyone, and all the hundreds of millions that watch F1, that he is the person in the worst position to complain about mercedes dominance? :p He made yet more comments this week, Hamilton pointed out the irony. And yeah I'm also concerned about Williams, the team is very likable, Claire, Bottas, Massa are all fan favourites so people want to see it succeed. But they're also not a team likely to boast about the upcoming year etc so maybe they'll surprise us? Their recent success has always come as quite a surprise.
23. Today marks the start of the pre-season testing, which is quite different compared to how it used to be in that we're seeing most of the cars officially for the first time today rather than the 3-4 week period of unveiling that most teams used to do a few years ago (that some still do). McLaren-Honda: Jenson Button & Fernando Alonso stay put. Still without a title sponsor, which is making them lose out on about £20m per year. Appears to be sticking with Ron Dennis as team principle, and Eric Boullier as Racing Director. Obvious concerns over pace/reliability, Ron Dennis refused to make predictions about the 2016 season. Scuderia Ferrari: Sticking with Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen Quick in pre-season testing. Most likely the biggest competitors to Mercedes in 2016 Red Bull-Tag Heuer: Sticking with Daniil Kyvat and Daniel Ricciardo Infiniti has dropped out as a title sponsor, meaning the purple colour has gone from the livery. Matt Black finish on the Red Bulls, it stands out rather well on TV. The Renault engines are labelled as Tag-Heuer engines, and are expected to develop well throughout the season. Christian Horner does not expect RB to be challenging Mercedes for pole. Scuderia Toro Rosso: As seen by the scuderia in the name, Toro Rosso will now be running Ferrari engines, different to their sister team RB. Sticking with Max Verstappen and Carlos Sainz JR. Due to differences in the size of the ferrari and renault engines, the Toro Rossos will be more different than in previous years. Force India: Staying with Nico Hulkenberg and Sergio Perez Had a fairly strong 2015, has potential to grab some points in 2016. Manor Racing: The old Marussia F1 team has rebranded to become Manor Switch from Ferrari engines, to Mercedes power. Management reshuffle, Booth and Lowdon both gone. Dave Ryan is the new racing director Driver reshuffle, Will Stevens and Roberto Mehri out, Rio Haryanto and Pascal Wehrlein in. They're a bit more confident that the MRT05 will be quite competitive. Haas F1: New team for 2016 Will be using Ferrari power (and many other Ferrari components). Esteban Gutierrez and Romain Grosjean will be the drivers. Former Jaguar and RBR technical director Gunther Steiner will be the team principle. Gene Haas, team owner, expects the team to be a backrunner for a few years much like his other motorsport teams, before doing well. Williams: Felipe Massa and Valtteri Bottas will remain drivers. Susie Wolff no longer a reserve driver, replaced by Alex Lynn They're being quite careful about how optimistic they are for the upcoming season, but hopefully they'll continue to bite at the rear of the front runners if not more. Sauber: Maruc Ericsson and Felipe Nasr have kept their seats. Not much else to report on the Sauber front..... which hopefully isn't indicative of their upcoming season. Renault: Formerly Lotus F1 (Which was formerly Renault). Grosjean has moved to Haas, Maldonado has lost his seat in F1. Jolyon Palmer (GP2 Champ) and Kevin Magnussen are the confirmed drivers. Bob Bell is the chief technical director and Frederic Vasseur is the racing director. The RS16's livery is meant to be temporary? I'm sure I've heard that they're waiting on a title sponsor similar to McLaren. Mercedes F1: Hamilton and Rosberg have kept their seats. Still consists of the Niki Lauda/Toto Wolff/Paddy Lowe trio as management. The car is looking quick as expected. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So what's there to know? - The cars appear to have gone on a bit of a diet at the rear, not necessarily lighter, they just appear to have a skinnier arse. - The noise is meant to be a huge improvement, 10-15% louder. - The Ferrari is meant to be closer to the Mercedes than in the previous 2 years, but where will Williams come? - WIll Manor be as competitive as they've let on?
