  1. Well you could purchase the game for a start.
  2. Graphical lag or internet lag? It could be your interent connection or hardware. Try defraging your hard-drive or lowering your graphics settings. If they fail then it could be the problem I had. It seems related to the lock up issues other people are having. Try deleting this folder (back it up just in case): "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Test Drive Unlimited" When you start up TDU again you'll have to enter your CD-Key again but apart from that it will work fine.
  3. I'm with the I'd pay for a true 'expansion pack' in a retail package with a decent amount of content camp. However, bug fixes should be free patches and there is no way I'm paying over the internet for a DLC. Leave the net for free bug-fixing and small amounts of free new content.
  4. This really is a sublime game eh. Fully maxed out settings still look fantastic. It gives TDU's Oahu a run for it's money too :P.
  5. Are you sure your running AA? That's more than just a few jaggles. Also without AF it's never going to look very good.
  6. It's also poorly coded in comparison to other modern PC games. HL2:Episode One, Far Cry, Oblivion and many other AAA titles run with HDR with much less performance hit.
  7. This is a long shot, as the problem me and my friend are having seems pretty unique. We both have TDU and can both play the game fine independently. We can join MP races (albiet with extreme lag thanks to living in Australia and only having 512kbs), we can see people and instant challenge them- hell everything works as you'd expect it. However, if we try to connect to each other via the map, no matter how many times, locations filter settings etc, we cannot spawn on each other. So hell we thought, that's been known to be buggy so we tried to join an MP race. If one person hosts, then the other person can see it but if they try to connect it simply times out and vice versa. Thirdly, we tried to make a club. If we both went in then we couldn't see each other. If we tried to intra race we simply had the MP race problem. Is trying to meet up with a friend supposed to be THIS difficult? The only thing that could be linked between us is our ISP and exchange. Surely this isn't the problem right? We have both port forwarded and played around with different accounts, but to no avail.
  8. I was happy with my Joytech Nitro wheel until it decided to break in almost every way imaginable. Think the steering wheel mis-aligning, paddles breaking off and IT deciding when I push the buttons on it. Now I'm stuck with the keyboard. Not as bad as you initially think.
  9. You simply create three different challenges in the editor mode, then go to a drive in and upload them. The editor is located in the pause menu.
  10. Could have something to do with the woeful roads and the shocking drivers here. I vote New Zealand- It's all about scenery. Downtown areas don't really work in TDU- you basically go from pure jungle to skyscrapers. Granted- Auckland covers a massive area, but with the small scale of the islands it could work. How about just Tasmania? It's very compact, features fantastic roads, two cities and a tonne of scenery variation. Sure, you would have to avoid the imbred problem, they could just lose the pedestrian thing altogether again.
  11. My experiences so far: + New cars are wonderful- they sound perfect and handle beautifully. The Skyline is just what I imagined and drifts like nothing else; RS4 has me addicted. +General performance is smoother and the online code seems more robust +I too have noticed a change to the physics- cars handle so much better +Sound quality has improved- still I liked the bass before. My Fully Sick Subwoofer needs something to pump out! +I can change a few more video options now... -...Until the Blue Screen comes along and wrecks everything. Please. This shouldn't have featured in the original version never alone a patch that took three months. Very dissapointed. Well there are more positives there than negatives. OK first patch, but really you'd expect this of an on release patch. Blue screens are inexcusable.
  12. Lovin that alfa, but guys kill the HDR if you can't run AA. Looks horrible...
  13. Another important thing is to not have anti-aliasing forced. Fraps will run like a dog with it on. Don't worry about image quality, as long as you arn't making some HD documentary for cinemas, it will be fine. I'm not sure about HDR, but I'd advise turning it off too.
  14. Nice pics, but I really can't stand there being no anti-aliasing. Damn the 360 not having support for both and handing it over to PC games.
