Tick tock, tick tock.
Only 13 or so hours left to get your times in. But rest assured, I am still to set a proper time!
-
Rosberg talking to Ferrari and Mercedes only offering him a 1 year contract. Interesting. :hmmm:
Where would Kimi go?
-
It's almost time for race number 6 of the season in Monaco, home of the galmourous, Myk, obscenely and somewhat illegitimately rich.
Will it be back to business as usual with Mercedes(Rosberg) winning the race from the front as Hamilton faulters. Or will Hamilton pull it out of the bag and win his first race of the season as he was mighty on FP1 getting up to speed much quicker than anyone else. Or will Red Bull be able to take on Mercedes in a battle for first in Quali or the race?
One thing is for sure, it's either going to be an incredibly dull race or an action packed race full of incidents and possibly some big shocks.
-
So you have a large shiny moustache? Interesting. :hmmm:
-
Interesting that you were thinking of physical stability. I think we(right, guys?) were thinking more mental stability. :cheeky:

From my limited memory I think I take an early apex so I've done most of the turning before the puddle. And don't go full power and don't coast so about 50% thottle and you shouldn't lose control or run understeer off.
-
I don't think I could agree more! :cheeky:
Apart from you need something less manly. :leaves:

Has everyone given up with this now? :(

If you were a car, what car would you be? Any car, past or present but please say why you think you would be said car
Will you choose a car that looks a bit like you. For example, are you a Peugeot?
Or are you a moody temperamental wo...Alfo Romeo that simply refuses to do anything when it's in a bad mood because they forgot to take their lunch to work?

The sounds are a bit better but I can't help but think they've only increased the bass. Which is a good start but they still have a loooong way to go imo.
And enough with the overly excessively annoyingly stupid tyre squeal whenever you brake slightly or turn slightly. Why are they still doing it!?

2:32.248 in a the Jag with a 10 second tune in 4 laps. Sebring is definitely fun in the wet. :)

[headline]Time to get the show on the road![/headline]
What's this about?
Earlier this year, Prophecy came up with a great idea for some community competition. What is it, I hear you ask? I'll let him explain in his own words:
Have you been living under a rock? Time Attack is a real world discipline of motorsport where the winner is not based on physical track position or amount of laps completed, its purely based on lap time. You know the rivals leaderboards? Time Attack. Think qualifying laps, except you can bin the car and still win the race, as long as you qualified first. All you have to do is set the fastest time beat Camel. So, each week a car or car restrictions and a track will be chosen by the winner of the previous week. It can be any car, or it can be car restrictions such as: Class, Performance Index, FWD/RWD/AWD, Mid-Engined, Naturally Aspirated, Pre-1970, etc. That is up to you, if you win. :smig: You can choose any track, with any weather. The competition will run from Monday-ish to Saturday (ending at 00:00 UTC/GMT), which should allow plenty of time for the winner to choose the next track.
Think of it as turboduck's own Rivals, but with some proper rivalry in the community.
The Rules:
- You must use the car (or a car that meets the restrictions) and track chosen by the previous winner.
- Tuning/Setups are allowed this week.
- Dirty laps do not count, stay off the lawn kids.
- Laps do not have to be from a standing start (flying laps count).
- If you already have a faster lap recorded outside of the competition, this does not count, you must record another and take a picture for proof. Banana for scale.
- If you win, don't forget to chose a car/track for the next week before Monday!
-
Make sure to do your times in RIVALS (or free play), they will not be recorded in test drive.
-
The time attack ends Saturday at 23:59 GMT and the winner has 24 hours to choose, then it defaults to the person in second if no choice is made.

The photomode does looks stunning but the visuals in the actual gameplay don't seem that great to me if I'm honest. A low amount of AA and around the wheel arches for the cars for examples they don't seem to be smooth curves.
And is this a main game in the franchise or a prologue style game or a side game? Can't quite tell but the car count is quite low and lots of racecars. :hmmm: Hope GT7 is still a thing that is coming.

Engine rebuilt 1000 miles ago :cheeky:
So was the engine in my Mini. Still looked like it had been run on coal for its whole life though! :p
And the poo shooter's replacement was found and included in my budget :( I thought i'd done really well with that.......but nope, Fiat Panda 4x4 :p
I saw that, but changing the exhaust sadly won't fix years of hoonery. And damn right Panda 4x4. :p
-
-
That does look like it could be good fun, assuming that I could keep my plane from eating dirt. Which I don't think is something that I would be able to do very often at all.
-
Cal for me on this.
The 4x4 Panda is great in an odd way. Don't ask. And I'm awfully sorry, I appear to have left my it in my... Jaaaaaagggggggg. MR2s are good if you can find a good example of one.
Insurance is pretty reasonable once you get to 23 over here it seems. For me it is anyway now.
-
I watched ACS when they aired it on BBC a few months ago. I thought it was actually pretty good and it certainly pulled me in to the point where I was looking forward to the next episode each week
Also, as is probably the case with most of us. Game of Thrones! That last episode has set the wheels in motion for the rest of the season to start getting pretty tasty! Fighting, boobs and dragons. What is not to love?
-
You have falsely represented my entry. It is a partially assembled Mini.
I should win by default due to this unsolicited attack on my choice of cars.

2001 Range Rooney Vogue - £2995

I do quite like the old Land Rover and Range Rooneys and I'm sure that they can handle a few wet leaves on the road with great ease.
2005 Audi A4 Avant S Line - £2995

What's not to like about the estate Audis? Just about enough power, it can transport a loaf of bread in comfort and it should be good at munching those motorway miles without breaking a sweat. It even comes with the indicators that are optional features on all German cars.

Who doesn't like a project? Or a classic Mini? The remaining £810 would go on getting it road worthy.
-
Looks a bit like something you'd see on the back of a 17 year olds Vauxhall Corsa.
And because I'm 10 years behind all the cool kids.
-
And this is why I don't buy nice things. Not even had the car 2 weeks yet.
In this case it was an arsehole in a Landrover going too fast with unsuitable tyres for the road. Those massive knobbly offroad tyres that stick out from the side of the car 6 inches. It threw up a small rock that's put 2 separate cracks on the drivers side of the windscreen. Seems unlikely that they'll be able to repair it due to how deep the cracks are, where they are and how close together they are.
The Big E3 2016 New News Thread!

[headline]E3 2016 - June 12th - 16th[/headline]
It's time for the TBEEE2016NNT thread which can only mean one thing! I've been eating alphabety spaghetti again. Or it's nearly time for E3 2016! Surely we can be sure that there will be some big announcements this year as there has been every year. But who will pack the biggest punch this year? Will it be the big daddys of E3 in Sony or Microsoft or will it be from the likes of EA, Bethesda or Activision?
