    They didn't rewrite the handling per sé, just the game engine itself was too inefficient the way it was and wouldn't be capable of handling all the things they later want to include in the game. Doing it now rather than later meant less things that their rewrite could potentially break and therefore less work in the long run. Anything they add from now on can be directly optimized for the "new" engine even if there is still a lot of work to be done with it.

    It's not that bad, I'm used to playing racing games on keyboard. The only thing is the first American Sedan which used to be my favorite car had the turning circle comparable with the moon, but with the new update it's a lot better if you turn down the assists to half. :D

    Are you using a controller/wheel? This new handling is brilliant with my keyboard :D Though the more I read online the more I feel like plugging in my MOMO wheel, wonder if it'll work here.

    Quite a few people are reporting massive fps hits :( Strangely it seems to be worst for those with the highest-spec computers o_O I wasn't hit that bad, I can certainly feel it but it's very playable a few seconds into the races. Also, you need to try the new handling for yourself and see what you think of it. Most people seem to think it was better before but I love how it is now, what we had before was almost unplayable to me which is why I hardly ever played the game.

    Update #5 is out :D They've completely overhauled the game engine (and you can feel it), the changelog is big: New car :D

    Maybe this will convince you, they just released a massive update called "pre-race". Brace yourself, for here is the changelog: And this isn't even the whole update. There is more coming, including the huge semi-truck (Gavril T75) later, hence the pre in the update name. Can't wait to see what T75 vs. Pigeon looks like for myself. Or the T75 vs. anything for that matter, will probably break my PC but might be worth it.

    Yeah agreed, I was confused as for a while I was convinced the Radi Z4 in the OP was actually a Dirt, and that^Mustang seemed to be in a race with the Dirt F-150 but I think I was wrong, it must be the Raid. And the Performance Raptor looks good, judging by that small and pixelated image :D

    I had a look at video, and there is a moment where you can - sort of - see the different versions of the Raptor (they're missing from the image in the OP): Do we think this is the Dirt or Raid Mustang? Looking at the cars where we have both, they're difficult to tell apart :/

    Lowering the graphics settings is always the first and most basic step to improve your framerate. If that doesn't help, there's probably nothing else that will. What are your computer specs?

    I hope the latter, I think having max 4 players would hamper the gameplay quite badly. Having to have the same 4 people online to do challenges would be difficult, especially if they are from different corners of the planet.

    I'll be getting it on PC though I don't know when I'll be able to actually play it. We'll see what things look like when the game is released... Would anyone here be interested on connecting on Facebook in order to unlock these crew Golden Plates?

    The stream starts at 21:30 CET, the final is at 01:30. Or something. Yesterday they had a lot of trouble connecting players to each other I think. Watch out for those times and time zones though so that you don't miss anything. [edit:] On their Twitter it says "join us at 20:30 CET". They said "21:30 CET / 3:30 EDT". CET is GMT+1 so 21:30 means 20:30 GMT and the term is only used during winter as far as I can work out. They keep mixing CET and CEST. EDT is GMT-4 so 3:30 would be 7:30/19:30 GMT. Question marks anyone?

    Come on, you know Diablo. :p A bit arbitrary it seems to me. The one yesterday started half an hour too early or too late, they don't seem to know their time zones.

    Ahh, the times when I knew nothing. I still mostly don't. You weren't supposed to get a confirmation e-mail were you? The page just said that you'll get an e-mail if you were chosen for the beta.

    There was a TDU1 beta? :hmmm: Took me 3 or so tries but I finally managed to register too. Now for the waiting game. :p
