  1. 1,000mph Scalextric record View Pictures The Scalextric Guinness World Speed Record has been smashed by celebrity Dallas Campbell. He set a new speed equivalent to 983.88mph with a Honda F1 model Scalextric racer. That beats the previous record by almost 300mph, which stood at 696.90mph. It was achieved on a 200-foot stretch of track set up at the VK Chatsworth Rally Show. Former rally champion Steve Perez was on hand to help out and said: "It's amazing that cars of this size can achieve equivalent speeds of over 900mph, with Dallas achieving a terrific feat by smashing the world record by some margin." Quite surprising, especially since the title of it on the Yahoo homepage was "F1 Car Beats 1000mph Speed Barrier" :p.
  2. Dark Blue TVR Cerbera, black 911 Turbo, black M5, black E46 M3, black E93 M3, dark blue E46 M3 Convertible, silver M5 and silver E46 M3 CSL. Not that much today, but a nice handful of beemers :D.
  3. Mmkay, time for new ones, but for actual SAME MANUFACTURER ones again :):). Ford Escort RS Cosworth or a Ford Sierra Cosworth RS500 I'd have to say the RS500 Sierra as i've been in both and the RS500 is by so far the quickest, it sounds the nicest and it looks the sex too :D.
  4. By the looks of thing, neither do you :p. Your ricer definition is one that upset Civic owners came up with over the years, a ricer started out just being a japanese car. It was nicknamed a ricer because a lot of japanese food had rice. ALL japanese cars are ricers, so there is no such thing as a "riced out" 106 unless it has a japanese engine in it. And Diablo, i understand what you mean, but i chose the Z-Tune as it has 550bhp and can do 206mph. AND was a production car. If that's not a supercar in your book then i don't know what is. I also agree with RB in having the Mines R34 GTR as a supercar as that can do 190mph+ as well and, if you've ever actually been in one, you'll know it is frighteningly quick, so i think it's deserving of being a supercar. However, i don't agree with ash16847's Nissan supercar list. I wouldn't class the 150hp 2.4 litre N/A engined 240SX as a supercar. It may be a supercar to you, but it isn't actually classed as a supercar. And i don't agree with RB's decision to put a Z33 as a supercar. But RB is right, on every car forum, EVERYBODY bashes the JDM lover. There is a LOT of bashing we can do to you eurosnobs too but we don't. We could open all of your eyes and show you how most Supras on the road will beat Lambos, and how a lot of Evos and Scoobies out there will beat your precious Zondas round the track any day but we don't. That's when we get banned from most forums. And Diablo, to anyone who knows anything about the JDM market, a Z-Tune would get much more attention. But oh well, another reason why i hate Top Gear and love Fifth Gear and Best Motoring, eh? And chrisicus, Nismo is a tuning group but it's not like Mines and Top Secret. Nismo is just another branch of Nissan that do tuning parts for open sale. The R34 GTR says Nissan in the name but it's made entirely of Nismo parts. And, for my last words: @Madmax Yeah, we do have a lot of threads with favourite cars, it's just fun to post them and to look at other peoples favourite cars. Eventually i'll make so many favourite car threads Diablo will have to rename Auto News & Discussion to Your Favourite Vehicle :D:D.
  5. I wish i had the power to predict the future too :p. Am i going to see any nice cars tomorrow? :D
  6. Lmao, that's hilarious, +rep. EDIT: NOOO, i still can't rep you!! :( It's always you posting the best stuff!!! xD
  7. Recently saw this thread on another forum i visit, and i thought it was a great idea. If you haven't figured out what this thread is about just yet: You have to name and include pictures of your top 5 favourite supercars. Just don't throw in a 1000hp Impreza and say it's a supercar xD. Mine: 1.) Nismo Skyline R34 GTR Z-Tune 2.) Edo Competition Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 3.) McLaren F1 4.) Jaguar XJ220 (the 1988 V12 version) 5.) Ferrari 250GT California http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g171/angusjdmurray/1957Ferrari250GTCaliforniaSpider.jpg
  8. When my friend sent his off again he used the box his computer came in and just packed it up with newspaper.
  9. Lmao. Boy, time does go quickly when you're have fun :D.
  10. Lol, i heard about this in the news this morning. Pretty funny. Weird.
  11. Yeah but my cousin has a Driftworks Monaco (exact same as Cobra Monaco) in his 200SX and it doesn't hold you that well and to be honest they aren't made as well as BRIDEs or Sparcos, and i've been drifting in an R32 GTR with BRIDE Brixs in it and they really hug you tight. I've also been in a Sil80 with Sparco Evo IIIs in it and they really hold you in tight and i've been in an R33 GTS-25t with BRIDE Maxis in it and they are brilliant too. I guess you can use Cobra Monacos with it, they will be a lot cheaper, i guess it's not like the seats are going to be used in actual race cars. And yeah, Sparco Evo IIIs brand-new are the best part of £400-£450 :D. Or get some of these Recaros: You can get 'em that have been ripped out of Evo Vs/VIs/VIIs/VIIIs/IXs for VERY cheap. I've seen them in perfect condition out of an Evo VI on eBay before WITH doorcards for £60. That was a fantastic deal so i'm not saying you'll be able to get them for that cheap but not too far off it :D.
  12. Yeah. The RB26s from the R32 and R33 are pretty much the same, just looked over again with a few bits tweaked. The very early R34s and the same ones but in 1999 they tuned the engine and used some different parts, mainly to cater to carbon dioxide regulations and such, but the RB26s from 2002+ were built pretty much all with Nismo parts and tuned my Nismo, so the 2002+ R34s may as well be "Nismo Skyline R34 GTR V-Spec II Nur"s instead of "Nissan Skyline R34 GTR V-Spec II Nur"s :p. So yeah, that's pretty much why they sound different. And most of them have Nismo 3" Stanless Steel exhaust systems so yeah, that helps too :D:D.
  13. Today i just saw a white LP640, but i fell in love with it :D. I asked the owner to rev it and he did. Sounded absolutely breathtaking. I want one.
  14. O WAO Lol, i didn't notice that. But i didn't look at a full picture on the link RB posted so it looked like a less red car :p.
  15. The Leon definetly, but i'd much rather have the Cupra. Sexeh beheast! EDIT: @Asgardeh Yeah, i agree, i like the old model a lot more, but i don't mind the new model, but the old model looks SOOO much better :D. And Cupra FTW!
  16. She only had one? There were 4 later on. A whole families worth! WTF? I thought you two were talking about a bird :S.
  17. Mmkay, what i would want in a driving seat for gaming... It needs to be a real bucket seat, but if you aren't allowed to include that, here are the basics of it: - Needs to be comfortable, but not like an armchair, it still needs that hard bottom. - Needs to grip/hug you: You want to feel like you are in a real race car, you need that feeling that you can throw your vehicle around bends and the seat is going to hold you in place with minimal body movement. I know it's only a game, but what was Gran Turismo invented for? :p - Needs a support stand that will stop it from moving forwards and backwards while driving with a steering wheel. For optional bits to include: - Harness slots. Holes that harnesses would be able to fit through. Doesn't absolutely need them, but is very useful to add to realism and for just in case someone wants to put harnesses through it to, y'know, add to the realism. - Speakers in the back. An Alpine 6x9 at the top and bottom of the back of the seat would be very useful, and if you're doing that, you may as well put an 8"/10" Kenwood subwoofer in the back in the middle. I have a home entertainment chair with JBLs in the sides and a 10" Kenwood sub in the back in the middle and it sounds like a dream. Of course this would add greatly to the price, but i think you would find a lot of people would be willing to pay the extra for it and it adds greatly to the driving experience. A great thing to have with it would be perhaps railings that would attach to the support stand and also to a table or driving station so it would connect to the steering wheel and pedals better for better driving experience and less aggrivation with having to move the table/seat forwards and backwards all the time to get it in the right place. Here are three examples of good seats: 1st. BRIDE Brix II 2nd. Sparco Evo III 3rd. BRIDE Maxis III http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d3/GLPstandard/Aftermarket%20Seat%20Install%20Write-up/realbrix2.jpg Good luck with your project!!!!
  18. Bloody hell Discipulo, that RS2000 looks brilliant!!!! Me wants bad nao.
  19. The one Balto posted looks like the sex :D:D:D. Shame it's not going to be the final one. But the final one (RB posted) looks nice too. Definetly nicer than the F and the C12S, they're kind of plain IMO.
  20. Depends on what has been done to the GTR or RB26 carrier though, and what generation the RB26 was from. The 2JZ-GTE has that distinctive brilliance in it's sound compared to the RB26's lovely but kind of plain compared to the 2JZ sound. Like when you hear an RB20DET rev then an SR20DET rev :p.
  21. How the hell how Yahoo beat Google and YouTube?? :S And yeah, TDU:C is worth a fair bit of money xD.
  22. Lmao, the hamilton one is funny but the cheezburger one is hilarious!!!! LMAO.
  23. About 4 Bentley Arnages, 2 Bentley Conti GT 4-doors, 2 Bentley Conti GT 2-doors, 1 Bentley Conti GTC, a silver Ferrari 360, a 70s brown Roller and a light blue Aston Martin DB5. EDIT: Oh, almost forgot, yesterday i saw and spoke to the owner of a Supra-powered Lotus Carlton. 4WD, Volk GT7s, HUGE discs, 4" Japspeed exhaust, leather BRIDEs in the front, lowered, LOADS of ICE in the back, was amazing. He said it was dyno'd at 427.1bhp :D:D. I had a HUGE smile on my face when he popped open the Bomex hood :D.
  24. It's also rude to point, but evil monkey seems to get away with it :p.
