For all the sacrifices he's made to keep this place running, I think he deserves to make comments like the one earlier in this thread.     The file for that part of the map might be corrupt. Try reinstalling the game.

    Those Windows message re. failed installations are usually false positives, so you can ignore them. Installing the megapack doesn't change the 1.66a number, so you can't tell there. Bascially, the only way to tell is to check the dealerships for new cars found only in the dealer. Here's a list of the new cars. :welcome:

    Just keep your important files backed up in any case - but you should be fine (you can usually hear the HDD making noises when it's starting to go).

    Can't wait for DiRT 3 (as long as they don't screw up the physics) - DiRT2 had great physics even if they weren't 100% realistic. I hope Shift 2 has more tracks than the first game - and not the same tracks that are found in every other racing game. Bathurst, for example, would be cool.

    Just tried out IP for the first time today - and it is nothing short of fantastic. The only issue I've had is that the map textures go missing for the section that I'm in, which means that both the GPS and large map show black for the land when zoomed in at a certain level. The water is still blue, and you can still see trees over the black. I tried installing the Autumn addon but that didn't change anything. Am I missing a patch or something? Thanks.

    2 months (and a lot of km's on my real car) later, I got around to playing TDU again, this time trying out Island Paradise: Bit of a weird map/GPS glitch - it looks good in the car - but going to the map most of the land in my vicinity is black: Ground-cover looks really nice:
