A torrent file is small and tells specific 'torrent programs' how to download the content from various users (peer-to-peer file sharing).   Please search Google or YouTube for the basics on how to use a torrent file.

The Crew Motorfest announced - Welcome back to O'ahu!

After growing rumour and speculation, Ubisoft's Ivory Tower studio revealed their 3rd game in The Crew series.  First planned as an expansion to The Crew 2, the project has grown large enough to warrant a full title release.

The reveal trailer shows the return to the popular island paradise O'ahu among Hawaii's islands. A variety of vehicles were shown in the video trailer (below), and the return of boats and aircraft has also been confirmed in a developer interview. 'Hundreds of cars' will be available to players.

One notable difference compared to Test Drive Unlimited will be the adaptation of O'ahu into a smaller playable area as opposed to aiming for a 1:1 scale recreation.   Key locations, such as the city of Waikiki, appear to remain close to their original size, but we imagine the long roads and highways linking these points of interest may be squished, taking inspiration from the map design in The Crew 1 & 2.   The advantage of this decision, according to game director Stéphane Beley, is that environment artists can “touch every kilometre” instead of relying on procedural generation techniques, and players can enjoy a "higher density of activities and biomes".

Fans can register their interest in joining the Insider Program, which will allow for confidential play-testing and sharing of feedback prior to launch later in 2023.  Four stages are planned, each inviting progressively more PC and eventually console players to join.

The Crew Motorfest is planned to launch sometime in 2023 on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One.  The Crew (1) launched on 2 December 2014, and The Crew 2 launched on 29 June 2017. 

New content continues to be added to The Crew 2 even in early 2023, with Season 7 Episode 2 showcasing high-speed races in Blizzard conditions.  

What do you think of this news?  Are you excited to return to O'ahu, even if it is squished beyond recognition in places?  Do you think Ivory Tower and Ubisoft will nail the physics and game progression?  Have you registered for the early access closed beta test?

Make sure you install the base game before installing the Platinum mod on top.

Yeah it's easy to forget how much of a pain controllers were prior to the X360 gamepad being widely adopted and supported.  Even today trying to use a PS4/5 controller on PC brings back memories of decades past, installing programs and calibrating them in the OS before trying to get them to work in game.   

Go back even further and you had to worry about getting DMI settings in your BIOS just right so that you could have a functioning controller AND sound. 

You must be OG.  I haven't seen someone use the term IGN (in-game name) in years! 

Well done, BEight (why do I keep wanting to call you BBEight lol).  This a great new direction for TDU1 modding and I hope to see more like it.

Try right-clicking the file in question or it's parent folder, go to Properties, and make sure the Read Only box is not ticked.

Try running one stick of RAM without the other, then swap after a few days. Do you notice a difference?

The interview does not drop any bombshells but does reflect on Alain's past passion projects (TDU 1 and 2) and reveals that despite the 1:1 map scale, tweaks and adjustments will be made to the game world to suit the types of driving and racing we all expect without getting stuck in traffic jams on very narrow roads.  Alain reassures us that the game is more than just racing, but about car appreciation and enjoyment of (virtual) ownership.

You may need to install a mod to access one of the community servers as the official TDU2 servers are dead.  But this thread is for TDU1.

Generally speaking, most traffic the Internet sends to your home is in response to a request originating from your home.  i.e. you go to youtube.com, so you sent a request, the Internet responds, and your router knows it must belong to you (instead of other devices on your network) because you sent the request a moment ago.

Multiplayer gaming with peer-to-peer connections means that the Internet may send data to your home that you did not request.  So if your router doesn't know who in your home wants this data, the router may just block it.  It would be like getting a letter in your mailbox with 'To the householder'.  It's not named so you may throw it in the bin.

Each game or program can attach a port ID number and type along with its data.  i.e. TCP 3478.  You can then instruct your router to forward all data with that port number to your computer (IP Address) and not block it.  This is what we call Port Forwarding.  

Because everyone has a different brand of Internet router, you will need to search for instructions relating to your router.  i.e. search 'How to port forward NetGear/Asus/DLink', etc on YouTube or Google.  https://portforward.com/

There was one mission with a bug like this.  The way to avoid was to take a different route (which was considerably longer) to avoid a particular piece of road that must have had a rough connection causing this problem.

You will find them in your Documents folder under Test Drive Unlimited\savegame\yourprofile\photos (or something like that)

Diablo shut that forum down after a period of inactivity, probably due to the costs.

The only thing I can think of is to ask if you're 110% sure you're patching the correct exe and not an old one that isn't being used?  Does it happen if you drive other cars?

Or maybe it's hinting that you go to bed?  

I don't think you need to modify any config files.  You can remap menu controls in the game.

No sound when looking backwards could be an issue with surround sound configuration - i.e. the sound is playing to rear speakers and you don't have any perhaps.

If you want to try Platinum weather, install is last.  Or if you prefer Bliss, install that last (or carefully select just a few files from Bliss to place over Platinum).   It is recommended to keep backups of your files in case you make a mistake or want to revert.
