  1. Just been playing it for the past hour or so. This is what people have been wanting from a rally game for a while now. It's just pure rally with no fluff. Gone is stuff like Gymkhana and dude-bro and in comes a more realistic experience. For an early access title there is quite a bit in it. 3 Countries with 12 stages each, all (most?) of which are longer than any of the past Dirt games. The stages are more like real stages too, narrow, bumpy and tricky. Wales is your traditional British rally stages with lots of wet gravel, forests and fields. Greece is a quick but bumpy heavily dusty challenge. Monte Carlo is Monte Carlo in the most Monte Carlo way. The cars feel a lot more weighty than other Dirt games. Sounds are the usual Codies greatness (I love Codemasters engine sounds). Rewind has been dropped too. Can't wait to see what the game goes. I wouldn't mind seeing Rallycross return, it was the next best thing in old Dirt games.
  2. Wouldn't mind seeing Polyphony having a go at Motorbikes again. Tourist Trophy was a great game with some weird game designs (Unlocking bikes by Time Trial and such). A combined GT/TT game would be heaven for me.
  3. Pretty much this. Usully they have more than one series on the day, so you have Stockcars, Hot Rods, Ministox and Bangers all through the day. If you go on special events you et stuff like Caravans and Reliant Robins. Spectating it you can basically be about 6 feet from the action. All the tracks are small ovals aswell so you can see more than at a circuit race. And you can go to the pits as Mike mentioned. The Stockcars are a good watch too. Basically they are chassis with big V8 engines and big wings on the top (see this). They aren't afarid to give eachother bumps and berges to get past, kinda like BTCC for ovals :p. Hotrods are tube frame style cars with highly tuned 2 Litre engines. Bodywork is made of Kevlar and such and is pretty much just visual and look like cars (see here). Usually non contact. I don't suggest watching it at big events like Autosport, the Bangers I saw there didn't ram each other or actually banger race. Probally had to the save the cars for the whole weekend. The Stockcars where alright though. I also suggest trying to get out and see something called Autograss. The cars are insane in some classes. Class 7 is the best with cars that are basically tube frame buggies with either Honda VTEC engines or twin 1000cc Motobike engines. Saw these too at Autosport, they regularly pulled wheelies comming out of the corners.
  4. Hmm... Lets see if I can remember a few things i've been too. Banger Racing/Stock Cars/National Hot Rods ect: Years ago now. Used to have a family day out to Westworld Raceway (my local banger track) near Newquay, been quite a bit. Also seen these at the NEC in Birmingham as part of Autosport International. Drag Racing: Went once or twice at Santa Pod years ago. FIA GT: May 2007 at Silverstone, what a miserable place that was . Video: BTCC: Thruxton April 2009. Thruxton isn't the best track for spectators, especially when it's not the warmest day of the year. Rally: Don't remember the event, was somewhere in Cornwall a few years ago now. I remember seeing what I belive was an escort sliding off the road infront of me. As far as I remember, that's all i've been too.
  5. Daytona Legend ^Click to Enlarge^ It's been a while...
  6. I have a pair of Gulf Oil Livery Converse. I'll make the Martini Shoes go with anything like I do them. :)
  7. Bought a new pair of shoes a few weeks ago... Also the latest Girls und Panzer Figma.
  8. Another small "story" gripe. In The South, why bother with Perf spec? I've hardly used it there. Perf seems like a class I actually like and it feels like it's forcing me to use Street with i'm not a fan of using, and Dirt spec.
  9. Played it a bit more, still feel like it's trying to sabotage my enjoyment of the game, especially this one mission "Chin Music". Chasing a Mini wich goes millions of MPH through Cape Canaveral with cops in the area that only serve to get in my way. Would be nice if they went after the Mini too. The rubberbanding is still making more annoyed at the game too.
  10. My two latest big purchases... Bow. Hoyt Riser with Kaya Limbs. Arrows and stuff. LG 55LB650V 1080p Full HD 3D Smart TV. I also got a bicycle a few months ago, no photos of it yet. Aswell as a few more Blu-Ray films/shows.
  11. So after spending a few hours with the game... I really want to like it more than I do, but some stuff stops me from doing so. Needless story mode with to me a stupid story. Is it bad that I don't care for any of the characters? Cars handle weird, mostly seem to float over the road with little grip, even with Hardcore mode on. The A.I. Rubberbanding removes almost all the fun from racing games for me. Atleast let me win with skill. As I mentioned before, the escape gang/cops are the worst mission IMO. There are things I do like, Car Specs, the map is great, the little landmarks are good for exploring and such. I just feel the game could have been soo much more.
  12. Got it on Xbone for Christmas. Who do missions where you are being chased by a group (cops/gang) suck massively? Also, rubberbanding AI sucks too.
  13. Probally the same reasons CoD and BF players are... I don't know where I read it (maybe iRacing forums), apparently many of the sim companies actually work together on things aswell as share information. Helps further the genre. Also... Porsche 962C by the same guy who did the 787b. DRM Revival arguably one of the best rFactor mods ever coming to AC.
  14. Chameleon ^Click to Enlarge^ I'm rather pleased how the right image turned out. Also, shame T10 decided to patch in a watermark. I know it can be moved, but still.
  15. Found a neat car as an alternate choice then. Marcos V6: Marcos V6 For Sale (1969) on Car And Classic UK [C557031]
  16. Besides the Sunbeam, all are interchangable :). I'd gladly drive a Sprite or a Countryman everyday. EDIT: Just noticed the Sunbeam is located in Denmark... Can I use some of the £9000 to import and tax it in the UK?
  17. I'll give it a go... Everyday: Jaguar E-Type, £85,000 E Type Jaguar 4.2 FHC For Sale (1967) on Car And Classic UK [C555815] 2nd Car: Austin Healey Frogeye Sprite, £10,000-£15,000 I would guess Original Mk1 Frogeye Sprite For Sale (1958) on Car And Classic UK [C556204] Weekend: Austin Mini Countryman, £15,850 Austin Mini Countryman For Sale (1965) on Car And Classic UK [C558559] Trackday Car: Sunbeam/Hillman Imp, £26,000 Sunbeam Imp FIA historic racecar (LHD) For Sale (1962) on Car And Classic UK [C541586] Alternate: Marcos V6, £30,000 Marcos V6 For Sale (1969) on Car And Classic UK [C557031] £141,000 spent, £9000 left for fixing them when they go wrong. As you can see, I like old british cars and would use an E-Type everyday.
