  1. Lucas has released first video previews of his new version of Lake Louise wich is a blend of nordschleife & tdu's hawaii. First version was a 23km road loop inspired from canada location. The new version 2.0 will add some optionnal roads and driver will have 4 different ways to complete the loop, including highway, crowsnest road uphill, original loop and an optionnal gravel way around the lake. Racer will have to choose between fast long loop / short dangerous loop depending on their car/driving skill, or just ride together on practice servers while taking photo on various parking areas showing nice panorama. Notice that the work made until now concern only basics terrain and road as a "go - no go" to the folowwing graphic parts wich will add every detailled objects and polished surface. Contrary to actual free roam games, Assetto Corsa make you able to run with more than 30 drivers online with extremly accurate physics and force feedback, offering a new experience by this way.
  2. You're welcome ! I heard that graphic engine doesn't allow lighting (needed for night time) and weather looks like a something difficult too. I personnaly think that Kunos will have to redo the game in a version 2.0 with new graphic engine but they have still lot of work to perfect the actual things. AC will be a racing with half feature (no weather, no 24h cycle ...) until 2018 at least. At start it was a little project from 10 people team with a very limited amount of money. the actual features we are enjoying now is so much more than what they expected at first but feedback and growing community forced them to do that.
  3. Track is better than what I was expecting from Kunos. Track's side looks deep with density, there is many little details but not too much than needed imo. Tourist version is the greatest attraction from this DLC, with bridge to gantry chronometer. new weathers conditions (no real time, just a litlle setting from Foggy / clean / cloudy slide bar with around 8/10 sets) are welcome but nothing reallly awesome. DLC cars are in the same quality than usuals Kunos models, not badder, not better, so it's quite good! physics are great except for the old Alfa GTA, wich looks like a Gran Turismo classic cars, feeling like a boat, I guess that it's a new tire model that need to be improved. But the car is not so bad, it have its own challenge, sound and model is nice. McLaren F1 and Alfa Romeo 155 are very fun to drive. I was a little bored recently by Nordschleife, I feel Lake Louise so much better now, but this Tourist version from Kunos gave me peace back with the nordschleife, now I want to challenge more this track with every car as I am doing on Lake Louise. I think they'll have some difficulty to make more attractive DLC next time. I wish them good luck !

  5. wow, great list, thanks :) I know there is also Brands hatch and some Lambo that they're working on, but I don't if it's free or not, except for miura ich is officialised mod. I hope that monza 62 is the one with the ring.
  6. We also got Yellowangrybird for free ;) Nordschleife will have 3 variations. There will be also free addon car, I heard about Skyline GT-R (stock) but I can't assume that.

AC Cobra and soon Lamborghini Miura was just mods, but Kunos (AC developpers) got the licences to include these cars as official content for free :) Company may fight against public release, but what can they do against private release inside comunity, club, league, fellowship...? There will be always a way to act free, but I might be wrong...
  8. Pcars looks better so far than AC, there is nice weather and 24h cycle, dynamic music menu, really great. But AC own the essential : Physics and modding tools. Driving is pure happiness and there is already lot of modding content (even if you look only from scratch stuffs).

I am enjoying reading that from you as I remenber how you took my Bugatti Atlantic for convert to TDU2 without asking for permission :D Don't be offensed, I am not complaining, it's not against you personnally and the Atlantic look very good on TDU2 from the picture I've seen but how can you ask for agreement when yourself, you don't ask for others? :D As I think you are a kind guy and as I like Ukrain community, don't mind for that and let's follow this thread in the good mood ;) Cheers

  12. I tryed this multiplayer mod few days ago and it's a pure jewel. First, about convoy, if you want to play with your friend, it's better to take mission as driver (those where you do not use your own truck) cause you can jump on a truck choosing where you start and where you arrive (depending on available mission). Of course vocal software as Skype, Oovoo, Mumble, Teamspeak3 are highly recommanded (this mod have its own TS server too given from chat ingame) So, the online is very different from TDU/the crew games cause all people standing in front of you on the server will appear, you can do a big convoy of 30 trucks if you want! To get this result, they dropped the traffic off (wich was often half bugged on tdu cause online synchro, and cities looked more empty anyway. I was very surpised cause there is really lot of people playing this 1 year old game in a alpha mod that only few players know. Also, lot of people drive clean respecting the basic rules (server kick every outlaws) and the gameplay (by missions) make the comunity very nice, maybe cause they have something to do and not only race like if you still was on a racetrack when you choosed a driving game on open world (TDU) I think this game helped with this multiplayer should deserve now to have its own dedicated thread category cause it's more "open world" "driving" "online" than any other game until now.

  17. It's still nice to see something trying new gameplay based on imersion and without the eternals tracks that we know now too much. But I doubt that the physics will be very good cause they doesn't show anything about that, physics looks like not important for them. Then console are closed software as hardware... Good news anyway!

  19. Not exactly if you speak about free roam map editor. The game give developpement tools wich are used by their dev to make cars and racetracks. I'll try to create track made as an open road. 16kmx16km drivable surface but starting with one short simply and looped road then growing at each new update. There will be no line to follow, you ll' be free to choose wich way you go. Totally different than azure coast and california highway from Pcars wich are just very nice non looped long track. Don't expect too much for a full map cause it's a big amount of work. I just hope to show a way for other modders.
  20. Game is said from the devs as having 70k poly cars. I think most of the modders are thinking that more than 100k is an impossible way and it will create FPS issue. I am planning more than 500k for my BMW and 2CV too. But depending on how the game engine run with it, I can try to modelize more thing like tire treat and all the side letters in 3D, engine, and more. Actually the 500k Poly are used for an extremely accurate and smoothed shape (without any smoothing tools, it's still hand made work cause optimization mesh). Goal is to develop features aiming to have all car functions working on the cockpit, until Airbag. The Supra will be extrem too, I think 1 million polys... Shadowworks | Works Blog About the modding quality, the actual projects in Assetto are quite very good quality. People that show something before the game released, don't take risk. I think there will be less mods than TDU1 had, especially less ripped models. Most of the modders should be serious modders, looking for racing car/championship, doing themselves their models, working on teams, and respecting 70k polys standard. Not as much as rFactor but quite some of them. Of course, less supercar and more oldies and prototype/F1. But about me, it's just a new and better TDU and lot of people planning to use Assetto to drive, not to race. There will be probably never traffic, but 8 players + 3 traffic cars is really better than 32 players ride and no traffic? Especially on a country roads environnement where there is no traffic anyway. Who miss the traffic lags and their poor quality model except people playing solo? Djey is working on new mod installer for manage installationn group. example : user can choose what texture quality he want, what model quality, sound quality, managing himself his ressources for a lighter mod if he have old PC and play 30 player online race, or a playsatstion 5 tech demo lookslike if he play TA solo with the last alienware released. Problems we had with TDU in managing different physics on the database will be not on Assetto, modding there is just standalone addons.
  21. There is lot of mods already in wip for Assetto Corsa, Mini Cooper (old one), Toyota Supra Super GT, Mazda MX5... I am myself modeling a BMW E34 (5), Citroen 2CV and working on a TDU-like environnement. I still have the De Tomaso Vallelunga made for TDU, even I feel it not enough accurate, it can be a nice cobaye to test their dev tools. Xiorxorn is interested too, Ferrari 250 TR, Facel Vega and more are ready to go. So, official car list is nice but nothing if we compare with what modding comunity will do :)
