If you notice on the render you've used, the edges looks pixelated. I had this when I started Photoshop to.

 

A simple method to get rid of this is either to play with the smudge tool and blend it out.

 

Or, use the blur tool and go around the edge of the render and blur it away.

yea i did that before for a sig but i was too sleepy yesterday to try more

I would say the third one.

 

And as a solution to the rough edges. Once you have made your selection, go to SELECT > FEATHER then set it to 1 pixel and hit OK. That should do the trick.
