Can't conect online, new version available

I am becoming very frustrated.

 

I have the orginal store bought CD/DVD.

i am not running any no cd/DVD crack

 

I have updated the game with patch 1.66A

 

I go to run the game online

and i get the same( A new version is available for download. do you want to download now)?

 

What in the world, i have not even modded the original files yet.

and i still get this error.

Can some one please help me out here?:confused:

It sounds like you patched the game with it still running? Don't ever do that, uninstall, reinstall, start the game. Then EXIT the game, install patch, restart PC and you should be fine. ;)

Thats all good now, But now i have the famous "Failed to connect to test drive server. I knew that was going to happen. I find it funny i got tricked by a whole bunch of freeride AI people...I thought i was online.

But yea, Does any one know what options i have, As i said the game is store bought original.

Try deleting "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Test Drive Unlimited" folder. After that you'll have to re-enter the serial number.

I went to documents and setting's but i do see any aplication data. i checked everything.

Right, seeing as you're on XP, I'm not sure if this will work

 

Go to Start > Run

 

Type in "%application data%" (With the %'s, without the "s) (On Vista it's %AppData%)

SHOULD bring you out to a hidden folder.

 

Look for the TDU folder and then follow RTY's instructions

 

If it doesn't work, it must be a Vista thing

Ok, im in application data, But i can not find any folders on tdu. just some zanga and yahoo excettera

Try this location C:\Documents and Settings\yourusername\Application Data\Test Drive Unlimited

You do not need to delete the whole Folder! Just the radial.cbd file. Make sure you enable viewing of hidden system files in preferences, first!

The Red Box - 'incorrect' serial may be the reason too ;)

Anyways, seeing as you saw AI bots, did you actually make an online profile?

Yes, i have made an online profile. 3 infact. i did the whole delete the serial code file, Put in a new code, tryed to go online, go the same results.

I found the Atari Folder where Test Drive should be located but its not there! all i see is RollerCoasterTycoon3 which i installed a long time ago

Ok, It's been a couple of month's and i still can't connect to the tdu server's. *note* i had already made a problem thread(this one) so im using it instead of making a whole new useless thread. Now back on to the subject. I have invested alot of time and money into this. And here's how.

 

I bought 3 copy's of tdu. 2 newest one's from game stop. They were new, And i still could not get online.

 

Also, I have reset system 4 time's still to know avail. I have tried about everything That has been explained to get online, Nothing has worked. So i am on the verge of giving up.

 

Also i never had a demo, no cd crack, Or beta of test drive unlimited.

Always legal legit copyrighted from the store Brand new game's.

I have no idea what to do now... *update*....Port forwarding... Did not go smoothly.
