Auto-Lock Old Threads

I've seen a few other forums that have an auto-lock feature to keep people from bumping those 3 year old threads not to mention when it's just to post something like:

:excited::excited::nuts::nuts::monkeydance::nanananana:

So, is there some way we can have the forum automatically lock threads after, say, 2 weeks of inactivity? We could then leave the new post button, but it would then only show up if approved by a moderator? Just an idea...

Umm why? It doesn't hurt anyone if somebody bumps an old thread, big deal.

I think it's annoying but i don't think that blocking them after 2 weeks of inactivity is worth it. People might have an important update or somehting and need to tell their information... Maybe if the time limit is longer.

I don't see why people get annoyed about bumping old threads, and then go on to post in that thread to comment on it being bumped.

 

If a thread is bumped and you have nothing constructive to say then don't bother! The less replies it gets the quicker it will disappear again.

I have to agree with Baldy and Tom here... An old thread being bumped is not the end of the world.

As much as I hate when someone stupidly bumps a thread for something useless, I think that it's easier to delete one post, than locking say 10-20 threads per day. So pretty much, I would say no. :)
