Dummy-Car, but why

Hi together,

 

I´ve some strange problems with my TDU.

 

At first:

Modding Tools, 1.67d etc. pp. is installed and there are no problems with crashes or something like this...

 

 

BUT: since some weeks, i "lose" cars which existed before, the newest one is the TVR 440R.

 

I´ve installed the Gumpert Apollo on the 440R, changed physics a little and everything worked well. Than i changed the 440R to Apollo Sport with TDU Performance-Editor > started again > and saw the Dummy-Car. It was not any more in TVR-Store, so i changed the name again but nothing happened, it´s still away.

 

 

The Gumpert is not the problem, but i want my Car-Slot back, cause i lost about 4 cars at that way. The first one was the Edonis, which was away after i installed the Community Patch.

 

 

 

Anybody got an idea how to restore the SLOT for 440R or Edonis?

 

Sometimes, i have a car as Dummy, when i go to another house, I see another car of the same type with no problems, one time, i got a Dummy and a real car at the same house.

 

 

Help please or tell me what happened :confused:

Install the megapack again, maybe? Is it the installation of 1.67d that "suddenly" caused them to disappear, or was it over time? You could be editing a DB file for a non-megapack version... Though not sure why that would happen.

not every megapack-car disappears, only the edonis after 1.67D, i had the veyron on it, but before installation of com-patch.

 

440R works fine, after installing the gumpert it worked, but after changing the name it was away from dealer, same with one Noble.

OK,I had a problem with mega car pack.Not the same one,but anyway.I fixed it with reinstalling windows.That should fix all.Nothing else can help.

i had this problem, i deleted any evidence of tdu on my pc then i reinstalled the game.

sorry stig, but i don´t think it´s a problem with my windows when cars disappear after changing something... it must be something with the DB, but i don´t want to reinstall all the things again, cause it works probably and i´ve changed a lot, of course make a backup, but it is some months old.

 

 

but thanks anyway, i thought somebody got a hint to correct that without burning down the house.

Here's a hint, DON'T USE THE INSTALLERS, put things in MANUALLY, and make sure you back them up first, and don't use the Uninstall option either, some of them aren't exactly written properly.

 

Best thing to do, is to install the game clean, install the megapack, then make a full copy of the whole install folder and RAR it up as a backup then burn it to a disc so it can't be altered.

 

There's only 2 ways to "lose a car slot" in this game, first, if you forget to put the original car model (or even a rim model) back in the right folder, and second, if you deleted a car from the dealership.

 

You'll want to use TDUMT 1.14 and check the dealership for each car you've "lost", you might have deleted a car from the dealerships when you uninstalled something.

I have this problem on my 04 STi which is on the RS4 it happend when i changed the name and now that you mention it i didnt see it in the dealership...

I had/have this problem too, in the garage, let say 3 cars next to each other, left was a Escort Cosworth, middle was a mercedes, and the right was a Tuscan if I remember it right, when I was on the Escort, and go to the Mercedes, the stats and name of the Escort stay on that screen at the right, topspeed etc. if I go to the Tuscan, the stats refresh with the stats of the Tuscan, and if I got to the Mercedes, the stats of the Tuscan stayed, till i got to the Escort or other vehicle.

 

But the Mercedes was still driveable, so it don't really lost it, but it was a very strange bug, and yes, I modded the game(patch 1.67D) and with some installers.
