60GB HDD Problems!

Helloo!

 

Im currently using a 20Gb HDD but have a 60GB HDD (my transfer disc says mixed media :/) Anyway considering I sold most of my games I thought ile just plug the 60Gb HDD in and recover my gamertag and away to go when I get new games

 

My xbox wont pick up the 60GB HDD and it says theres no storage device.

I tried putting the 20GB HDD back on and connected the 60Gb through the transfer kit and it said would I like to configure it so I did as it doesnt work anyway. It picked it up as a usb device as it was connected via USB (trasnfer kit) but it now says I have 16GB space free but may have problems saving games.

 

Any ideas?

 

It was just a test and I wont be running my xbox with 2 HDD's connected up, ile just stick with the 20GB

Sounds like your 60GB drive isn't an XBox formatted drive, just formatted in a regular PC format so the 360 see's it as an external HDD not a proper M$ proprietary drive.

 

Was this an Ebay buy?

yes I brought it on ebay. The xbox did recognise it though but the disc that come with it says "mixed media" so I used the xport program to try and transfer the data.
