Installing TDU ???

Hello, im pretty new here, and also new to TDU on PC, i do have TDU on Xbox 360.

 

And well, im not sure how to patch the game..

 

Because it says test drive unlimited is not installed on your pc.. i think..

 

and a friend of me told me what to do but im still not sure how, because he told me to add the files manually or somthing.

Download the patch from here. Once saved to your PC, extract it and run the file. Once you've finished, run the game. It should say version 1.66a down the bottom of the main menu screen.

Extract. You mean i must right click on the rar/7zip/7z thing and choose extract?

Yes - the executable file needs to be extracted. It will then appear either in the same fodler as the zip file, or a new folder with the same name will be created and the file is within that.

The patch thing contains 4 folders:

 

- $PLUGINSDIR

- $R0 (Either letter O or number 0)

- $TEMP

- $_OUTDIR

 

Im not sure where to put the files that are inside.

Cuz it's actually an .exe but it just says: "Test Drive Unlimited is not installed on your PC"

well, i still get that message, but now i by a mistake did this: i extracted the patch to /TDU Game/Euro but when i start game it still says MC 1.45

2 - Where is the patch downloaded?

3 - Was the patch inside a .zip or .rar file when you downloaded it?

4 - Are you familiar with how .zip files work?

5 - What extraction software do you have installed to handle .zip/rar files?

6 - Can you upload screenshots of what's confusing you?

2 - Dont remember, i got it from a friend. Either here or Mediafire/Rapidshare/Filefront (I forgot)

3 - It's an .exe so .. no?

From what I can see, you haven't legally purchased TDU, so we can't be of any help to you on these forums.

A friend. He sent me links .. Piratebay.

 

The actuall game was installed, like it was just ready to run when finished downloaded. And the Megapack was from Piratebay.

 

But i found this site later.

You'll need to buy the game and support the developers before you'll get help here.

I do support the devs. I have the game on Xbox. I dont wna buy it on pc to.. waste of money imo. Im not saying its a bad game but its just unnessesairy to have two of same game if you ask me.

I was in the same boat when I wanted to try the game out before buying it. You need a legit, BOUGHT copy in order to patch and play online. No way around this.

Therein lies the problem and ambiguity of software "piracy"...but I don't think this is up for debate on this website. You either need to buy another copy, or play single player without the patch.

Im fully aware about no online, but i just wanna play the game with megapack.. I cant get pass the code thing ingame.

The megapack activates itself over the Internet when you launch the game. It then ties the megapack serial to the game serial under your account. Since you are using your account with someone else's game serial - it refuses to work for you.

Hmm .. The friend that gave me this have done everything exept patching up to 1.68b .. so idk

You're not going to get it to work without buying it - TDU has exceptionally good antipiracy code built in.
