Overclock Your Monitor

Most normal LCD displays operate at 60Hz. Gaming ones may support 120Hz.

If you have an nVidia graphics card, and you often exceed 60FPS in your games, you might try creating a custom monitor profile in a nVidia Control Panel.

Basically just keep increasing the Refresh Rate by 1 (click No at the Test Successful screen) until you get an Out of Range error on your screen. Then go back one and save that as your custom resolution, select it and hit Apply. I was able to reach 69Hz, which is a 15% improvement.

Some games may ignore your your custom profile, using their own hard-coded checks.

I'm not responsible if you blow your 4K TV up. :)

That's... speshul. Though new monitors with DisplayPort can handle up to 144Hz. What would even happen if you tried something like gaming at 69Hz? Would it look strange or just... normal?

I've never heard of OCing monitors. What other things can you overclock too?
Pretty much anything if it has a PCB it seems.
