A few weeks back I posted my idea for a racing game that I made a few years ago. This time its 100% better. I went through most asspects of a vedio game. This idea is gold only if some one could do it in real life not in my head...

Drive: The Ultimate Racing Game

 

 

 

The Case

-- A free roaming island with thousands of miles of paved and dirt roads!

-- Hundreds of real world cars that you can tune an upgrade.

-- 4 Cities to explore while on the island

-- Huge Free flowing career mode that teaches you different types of driving

 

The Beginning...

The game starts at an airport with a bunch of people just sitting around. You chose one of these people to be your charecter. He/She then gets up and goes to the bathroom. This is where you then edit his clothes, hair, face, and etc.

 

The Cities

Your charecter then chosses what city they want to fly to. There will be 4 cities you can start in with many smaller cities around the island.Each large city will represent a segment of the Car market around the world: North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. This will determine what make of car you will start with because the Cities will only sell cars from their respective Markets.

 

North America - A city Simular to San Francisco with lots of hills to make good cop chases and racing.

Europe - A city simular to Paris with lots of nice buildings for nice curises.

Asia - A city like Tokyo with lots of lights and people set next to mountains good for drifting.

Australia - A city like Sydney set in a desert with loads of flat straight roads.

 

The House

After flying to your respective city you then chose your house. This house will be able to hold eveycar in the game. You can by more locations for houses to be so you can get to your car quicker.

 

Chose Your Car

You the chose your car from the avaliable car manufacturers. YOu will only have enough money to by a LEVEL 1 car. The are 15 levels of cars: 6 levels of road going cars, 2 levels of Trucks, 1 Level for Old Cars, and 6 levels for Race Cars.

 

LEVEL 1 - Start up cars (eg. Honda Civic Si)

LEVEL 2 - Midrange cars (eg. Ford Mustang GT)

LEVEL 3 - Powerful Midrange - Low Sportscars (eg. Porsche Boxter S)

LEVEL 4 - Sports Cars - (eg. Jaguar XKR)

LEVEL 5 - Powerful Sports Cars - (eg. Chevy Corvette Z06)

LEVEL 6 - Supercars - (eg. Ferrari Enzo)

 

T1 - Truck Level 1 (eg. Ford F-150)

T2 - Sports Trucks (eg. Porsche Cayenne Turbo)

 

M - Older Cars (eg. BMW 2002 Turbo)

 

SC - Stock Cars (eg. Ford Stock Car Fusion)

RR - Rally Racing - (eg. Subaru Impraza WRC)

GTS - DTM, JGTC, GT, GTS, V8 Supercars (eg. Viper GTS-R)

D - Drift (eg. Pontiac Solstice Drift Car)

P1 - LMP1, Daytona Prototypes (eg. Toyota GT-One)

F1 - Formula 1 - (eg. Scuderia Ferrari F1)

 

Cop Cars

The Cops in the game are determined by what LEVEL car you are driving. The Higher the LEVEL the faster the cop car. Cops can be turned on or off. In online free roam they are off. If they pull you over you will have to pay a small fee. The Racecars cop will be the

LEVEL 6 Cop while the T1 will be LEVEL 1 Cop and T2 LEVEL 2 Cop.

LEVEL 2 Cop - Chevy Monte Carlo SS

LEVEL 3 Cop - Ford Falcon XR8

LEVEL 4 Cop - BMW M3

LEVEL 5 Cop - Porsche 911 GT3

LEVEL 6 Cop - Lamborghini Mercielago

M Cop - Ford Mustang Boss 302

 

Car Paint

Cars will have there real world paint when you chose them but there will be different specal paint shops where you can do your own paint jobs. You can chose your design and painty it or make a special two tone paint job. Race cars will be plain in the show room. They will be the Sheet metal color of Gray. You will then chose a number that goes on the racecar and then design your own paint job or chose from a pre made paint job from sponsors of the game for the certain racecar.

 

Starting to Race/Freeride

As soon as you buy your car you are free to do what ever you want. You can start racing or Freeride and go find the other cities and roads. At the begining you will have only a few races open. As you find more roads and rank up more points you will unlock more races. The rank up is determined buy special task you complete in the game

(eg. Certain number of a make, Win this many races, travel this amount of miles, etc.)

 

The RANK SYSTEM and what it unlocks

Beginner - The Start out rank

Rookie - Unlocks races for LEVEL 2 races, some LEVEL 3 races, and LEVEL 5 cars

Amature - Unlocks all LEVEL 3 races, some LEVEL 4 races, and LEVEL 6 cars

Pro - Unlock all LEVEL 4 races, some LEVEL 5 races, and unlock first level racetracks

Champion - Unlock all LEVEL 5 and all LEVLE 6 races, and Level 2 racetracks

Master - Complete 100% of game. Unlocks Secret Island and Special Delerships on the Island

 

The Races

Races will take place all over the island and be on roads that will or will not have cars on them. There will be Regular races, knockout, drag, drift, and time trail. Each city will have 2 race tracks each represemting a major motorsport for that area.

 

LEVEL 1 TRACKS

North America

Drag Strip - A .25 mile drag strip

Europe

Rally Europe - A rally course that will be set to go through woods and small villages

Asia

Drift Park - A Drift park with a open lot to learn to drift, A Drift Track, a Closed off Mounatin road for drift battles.

Australia

Rally Australia - a rally track that goes through the desert.

 

LEVEL 2 TRACKS

North America

1.5 Mile Oval - A 1.5 Mile Oval for close fast racing modeling Lowe's Motor Speedway

Europe

F1 Track - A track that puts together major parts from F1 Tracks

Asia

GTS/P1 Track - A course that runs through the mountains

Australia

V8 Supecar Track - A winding track running through the desert

 

Secret Island

The island is off the coast of the island. There will be a tunnel that leads to it and will open after you complete the game. The island will be 20 Sq. miles big with lots of mountains making for good cursing, drifting, racing, or whatever. There will be the dealerships that will hold the Special cars.

 

Upgrading Cars

There will be The upgrading of 3 differnt levels upgrading each car more with each upgrade. There will be bodykits for cars that can get body kits. Mostly tuners. Cars that have better versions can be upgraded to that vesion including race car (eg. Ford GT - Ford GTX-1, and Ford Fusion - Ford Fusion Stock Car). There will be no car set up so the racing will be Driver Vs. Driver, not who has the best set-up.

wow man. That is a good idea...now you have to make it real XD Talk to some game company :P

Few problems tho.

 

You'd be paying more for licenses than turnover so you profit will be negative. In other words, you'd have to lose money to make this game. And then you'll never make money.

 

I like the idea of the game, but it would take ages to make, and disc space would be lacking but who knows what the future holds.

Good but really thats TDU2. There are some great ideas in there but if you brought that out as another game Atari wouldn't be to happy.

I know. Its a thing I would like to see happen but never will. Heck I should turn this into Atari and maybe thay will make it TDU 2 minus a few cars

Interesting post, thats a really gud idea soughta GTA meets TDU (without GTA Violence) !!

 

Maybe Atari are gonna make TDU 2 along the lines of that !
