Internet connection probs, please help

Hey all, I'm new here. I just bought TDU yesterday, but I had a lot of stuff done in the beta, and luckily that profile works in the new game. Anyways, I've been having problems with connecting to the servers. They connect fine; I can trade, sell, etc. But whenever I see other people on the road, they're either sitting still or lagging around like crazy. My PC specs are:

 

Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 @ 3.4GHz

2GB DDR2 RAM @ DDR2 850

eVGA 8800GTS 320MB Superclocked

 

The game itself runs great, but I cant get rid of the lag. I have seen only ONE person not lagging, but since then, I havent seen that happen again. Thinking it was maybe my router messing with it, I hooked my PC straight into the DSL box, only to have the same problem. I really wanna play this game online and cruise with everyone in the cars I earned and enjoy driving. I appreciate any and all help. Thanks for your time.

In the Beta stage were you able to connect fine?

 

And what speed internet do you have? Broadband I presume? If not then that's definately the problem.

Yeah I have DSL.

 

Actually, my beta profile was an offline one, so I converted it to online. Also note that when I made a new online profile (for the merging process) I got the same lag, so it's not my profile either.

 

Its also worthy to note that I was just online some more and there was another guy who wasnt lagging, but everyone else still was. So lets make that a total of two other players who werent lagging around for me.

Have you downloaded the patch?

 

If you have then sorry I can't be more help. Someone else here must have an answer and I'm sure they'll comment soon. Sorry :)

Yeah, I have patch 1.66 installed. It's a weird issue cause I've been troubleshooting everything it could be, but to no avail. There must be something I'm missing. Maybe I just need to reinstall the game or something.

Yes, the only other thing apart from re-installing that I can think of is to check your firewall settings and make sure there isn't a part of TDU that is blocked. However this is a very difficlt problem because you have connected with some people without the lag. Sorry I can't help anymore, Good Luck :)

I was playing online some last night and I found a guy that wasn't lagging, so I cruised with him for a while. One of his friends joined us and he was lagging all over my screen.

 

Later, the guy that wasn't lagging left the game and when the lagging guy came back, he wasn't lagging any more. We cruised for about an hour and a half. He said that one of his friends had the same problem I'm having, and it's because his internet isn't fast enough. But like me, his friend could only connect to one person at a time (hence one person each time that isnt lagging for me). I only have basic DSL (I download stuff at a humble 165kbs), so it wouldnt surprise me if that's it. Any other opinions?
