Well you implied that Lotus's have always been 100% Lotus ... I was just pointing out that they aren't ... I wasn't implying Lotus have always used someone elses engines ... just that on some models these days they are ... Oh and the Toyota Engines are available in UK spec cars too ... I think you'll find it was partly for Euro IV emissions and partly as engine development costs a lot of money so it's cheaper to buy and engine in and possibly tweak it if you have the time / money

 

Oh and sharing Blocks is even more common ... the bottom end of my engine is from a GM ! ... but then so is the front end structure of the body!!!!!

I know you know much more about the car industry than me ;). But yeah, I didn't mean to imply they always used their own engines, I was just saying they're pretty much the only english company that still make a lot of their own stuff. And these days pretty much everything has something made by GM on their car xD.
