  1. The Tokyo International Anime Fair (TAF) reported on Tuesday that 37% fewer exhibitors are renting 20% less booth space this year compared to last year, although negotiations are still continuing with companies that are boycotting the event due to a recently updated Tokyo law. 80 of the 119 members of the fair's executive committee appeared at a press conference on Tuesday to present a status report. The Tokyo Metropolitan Government passed an amendment to the city's Youth Healthy Development Ordinance last month. The amendment would expand the number of manga and anime that fall under "harmful publications," the legal category of works that must not be sold or rented to people under the age of 18. The head of TAF's executive committee happens to be Tokyo Governor Shintaro Ishihara, a major proponent of the amendment. As of Monday, 153 exhibitors are renting 491 booth spaces at TAF this year, compared to 244 exhibitors and 615 booth spaces last year. 125 of the exhibitors still participating are Japanese, while 28 are from overseas. 25 companies cancelled 117 booth spaces after news about the amended law came to light. As a result, TAF projects that it will have 110 million yen (about US$1.3 million) less than its initial estimates. The 10 manga publishers of Comic 10-Shakai are boycotting TAF due to the amendment. Eight media companies announced a new event called Anime Contents Expo (ACE) on March 26 and 27 — the same weekend that TAF scheduled its two public days. If Comic 10-Shakai does not rescind its boycott, some of this year's exhibitors will not participate in TAF's public days. The following companies are nevertheless scheduled to exhibit at TAF along with various governmental entities and nonprofit organizations: Association of Japanese Animations Toei Animation Pierrot Tezuka Productions ASATSU DK TMS Entertainment (Bakugan, LLP) Sunrise Bandai Visual Studio Ghibli IG Port (parent company of Production I.G, XEBEC) Shogakukan Shueisha Production Eiken BONES Others Broadcasting Companies NHK Enterprise TV Tokyo TBS NTV TV Asahi Others Film Companies TOHO Shochiku Film Toei Others Sponsors/Toy Companies Dentsu Takara Tomy Bandai Anime Contents Expo (ACE) launched its official website on Tuesday and announced the following exhibitors: Aniplex ANIMATE Kadokawa Shoten Good Smile Company Geneon Universal Entertainment Japan Nitroplus Frontier Works Marvelous Entertainment Media Factory Eight of ACE's exhibitors co-signed the December press release that announced the new event, while ACE just announced this week that Good Smile Company and Nitroplus are participating. ACE's staff states that more exhibitors will be listed on the website. The 10 manga publishers in Comic 10-Shakai are Shueisha, Shogakukan, Kadokawa Shoten, Kodansha, Akita Shoten, Hakusensha, Shonen Gahousha, Shinchosha, Futabasha, and LEED Publishing Co., Ltd. Shogakukan and Shueisha co-own Shogakukan Shueisha Production, one of the licensing and merchandising companies still exhibiting at TAF. Source:ANN
  2. The Oricon market survey firm reports that the seventh Blu-ray Disc volume of the K-ON!! television anime series sold 27,000 copies (rounded to the nearest thousand) to top Japan's overall Blu-ray Disc chart for the January 17-23 week. It is the third time that this series, the second television anime in the franchise, has ranked #1 on the weekly chart. Source:ANN
  3. Not sure what you're all up to but mellors sending me this on MSN is a bit suspicious. :omg:
  4. So you take his hat off and you go nuts? Wise hat? And here's a side note, I love all things Camely!
  5. Ah ok, I always wondered where camels kept their calendars. Now I know, thanks!

Please don't touch the button with metallic objects, only feathers can be used to activate it. So whose chicken enough to do it?
  9. Just a reminder that there is an Ignore List guys. Elder no offence but please chill the hell out, you are going on and talk about the same damn thing constantly. People are getting annoyed by it so your attempt to get people talking about this is going as bad as can be as people just want you to shut the hell up rather than discuss the situation. So honestly give it a rest otherwise you may find you'll only be talking to yourself in not to long a time.
  10. Lambos were in the plan and there were images of them in the presentation shown last year.
  11. I never drove the newer XKR in TDU due to the awful sound it sported, hopefully this one will be better.
  12. The sounds will be an improvement over TDU but that's not saying much is it? To be honest the publisher and developer needs more money in order to get this done appropriately, if the game sells well then we can look forward to the future of the series and maybe even DLC will have even better sounds (we can but hope) but if you're expecting sounds on a level of watching Top Gear in Dolby Digital 7.1 crispness and bass then get your head out your arse. No game can do that.
  13. His way of going on about in voicing his worries and concerns is in serious need of attention, however he obviously does have valid concerns and I would bet he's not the only one and in fact it's clear to see he's not the only one. If you're not buying the game next month or are waiting for reviews, don't give up on it completely. Just wait for us who dive in on day to get our taste and we will share the good, the bad and the down right abysmal. Then you'll know where to stand and what to wait for to get fixed. :)
  14. The reputation usually hints at that.
  15. Ahh yeah I hate it when I hear people on TV and flims say "cha-see" (as in cha-rge), it's a french word and is said "sha-see".
  16. No yours is an E Class Coupe. Not just an E Class which is a saloon. (I hate the word sedan!)

Doubly so? Countdown is slow on Chrome for you and double posting? :hmmm: Sure your internet isn't having some issues? :)
  18. It's more to do with the time taken to do these things could have been better spent on getting the dashes working, the rev lights on the Ferrari's and other details wanted since TDU. Night and Weather is a great addition but the social thing was what you made of the game not of what the game gave you. Typically those who adore the first game have their concerns as think about where the racing game has gone recently. Early adopters will help in making this game great though, I do feel that! :D
  19. A Saloon or a Sedan as you guys over the pond call it usually means it has 4 doors. New terms like 4-door coupe and such have been derived sure but the bare bones of a Saloon car is it has 4 doors and is not a hatchback. Examples: BMW 3 series (not coupe), 5 series Merc C, E and S Lotus Carlton Audi A6/7/8, S4/6/8, RS4/6 (not the Avant) Make sense?
