  1. I think the cheaper one needs the chrome window surround or else it just looks a bit.... cheap? which is weird/crazy, I'm just not sure it works for me, but then again I'm not a fan of the bright red on cars which is why I chose green for my ferrari in the first place  That Carmine red is muchhhhhhh nicer. You'd go for the GT wheel? :hmmm: It's far from a track toy/weekend car, very much daily driver-able so the multi-function thing was kind of a necessity for me
  2. Interesting article on Jalopnik saying they think Google and Fiat/Chrysler might be hooking up sometime soon: Is Google About To Team Up With Fiat Chrysler? The real question is if this happens, will Marchionne continue looking for another automotive company to merge with? The article above seems to think so. He's been very very open and quite desperate about his plans to merge FCA with someone big so i'd tend to agree with it.
  3. I take it you meant Green/Beige? Well yeah the old XJ/Jag look is what it's meant to replicate, the colour is called Verde British for a reason haha The colour looks much better in person/real life, look at this 599
  4. Bear with me on this one, i've tried to do something a bit unconventional and for the most part I think it looks stunning, but the interior combo would need to be finalised by someone that isn't colourblind as I can tell it hasn't worked as I intended it to.... I think the interior should have probably been a bit more boring as the exterior colour choice is quite 'loud' for a ferrari.
  5. That's such a sexy angle for the FF, it's such a stunning car from that angle if only it was equally as good from the front
  6. As this thread proves, I almost always go for a boring grey colour on the exterior and even though the configurator gave me that option (always loved the Agata grey porsche offers), I think that blue-ish grey works well on the 718, it looks better in person/in real life photos, it looks quite 'flat' there. Whenever I configure a porsche I always go for that colour two-tone for the leather, I think it works incredibly well. All beige is a bit in your face and just looks like a nightmare to keep nice but only half beige makes it look so special. I did tick all the 'extra' leather interior options but if it ever came to me speccing a porsche for real I'm not sure i'd bother, it doesn't need it, it looks great as it is. They're the best wheels by far for the 718 too imo, there are more flashy wheel choices but they work so well.
  7. The 718 configurator is up and running guyz! Here's mine.... Cayman S, I started off not ticking all the option boxes as let's face it most of them are not necessary the car is great as it is, but then I started to see just how much I could spend on options, I could have bought a very decent hot hatch instead of optioning this thing up  £30k+ on options, made it into an 80k car.
  8. They need wet weather testing, and bright in yo face sun testing more than anything. Issues on how it'll catch sunrays and get rid of water are the only reason I can't see it going ahead, it definitely looks better than that ha lo piece of crap.
  9. The BBC has just announced a spin off from TopGear called ExtraGear, which will be 30 mins of exclusive footage, interviews, behind the scenes etc hosted by the Topgear Presenter Rory Reid (not yet seen any of his work so can't judge that appointment). It will be broadcast on BBC 3, meaning the iplayer as that channel is no longer on TV. ‘Extra Gear’ is Top Gear’s new, behind-the-scenes show | Top Gear PS: I've changed the thread title to BBC TopGear so that we can distinguish it from the Amazon as-yet unnamed TopGear. CBA posting about all the latest tabloid drama with chris evans.
  10. The car vlogger thing is puzzling to me too, mainly because I feel it's very much a free for all and young naive viewers who worship them aren't aware how much they're being 'exploited' to a sense, the amount of product placement in a lot of the videos is insane. Shmee constantly discusses the name of his car wash, the name of the place that wrapped his cars etc, a lot of the viewers won't realise he's getting a ridiculous discount if not freebies for doing so. Which then leads me onto the issue of 'this car is just as much yours as it is mine!!!!' or 'i'm not happy with some of the comments for x or y reason rah rah rah rah rah', it's an entirely selfish 'industry' and they're benefiting from it and they never really ever get around to discussing just how much their viewers/subscribers/insta followers etc benefit them. Another issue I have with the vloggers is that they really don't know much about what they pretend to be discussing, that person you referred to as Miley, Seb, only ever reads off of a piece of paper or is quite frank about how much he doesn't know. Similar to the SeeingThroughGlass guy Tim just posted above, he's also quite brunt about how little car knowledge he actually has when that's kind of his 'job' to an extent? If you watch the first 10 seconds of that 'Monaco part 2' video you just posted you'll notice them discussing someone who has JUST STARTED A CHANNEL. A few months ago the guy Tim posted, MrJWW was introduced as someone who had JUST STARTED A CHANNEL, they're all people that through some weird link end up back to Shmee or someone haha. Our very own Penfold has been referenced in a fair few of that groups videos interestingly enough :nods: He's a successful photographer primarily though, so that's different. Some of the guys are decent, that SeeingThroughGlass guy can be quite charismatic and is fairly enjoyable to watch, whereas I find the SupercarsOfLondon guy can be a bit obnoxious, when revealing his new GT-S he seemed to overestimate just how much people care about his new car, as if we were all gaining from his new purchase as much as he was, and that we should be emotional about it too... Shmee's channel on the whole is quite interesting to follow, due to his popularity and success he's a bit more refined in what he does and although the self-interest and occasional big-headedness can show, he does talk about what people want to know when they watch a car video and he has access to some decent events worth watching etc. At the end of the day my real frustration comes down to some of the channels having some good content and some of the people being enjoyable to watch, but it's just impossible to filter out the less desirable and more annoying vloggers as they all mix so frequently haha. I suppose if we don't like, we shouldn't watch, but it doesn't stop us having an opinion on them I guess. Vloggers like Salomondrin and Shmee are kind of worth subscribing for as their passion kind of overshadows any personal gain they're getting from the vlogs, they're genuinely interested in what they discuss etc.
  11. Good list Tom :hmmm: Considering I thought i'd subscribed to most automotive youtube channels worth subscribing to, I hadn't subscribed to any of your list prior to now, going to check them out :nods:
  12. Dear god that 300SL is just...... jesus. I just. omg. I could stare at it for days without end. Imagine having one of them in your garage.
  13. True, there is a certain stigma in the UK, perhaps just the UK perhaps internationally, attached to men who drive Porsches, often in reference to the (lack of) size of their lololol, not their wallet :p Driving a convertible Porsche exacerbates this stigma slightly more over here haha. That's one of the reasons I love the Targa, it's a good compromise :nods:
  14. Scott and a few others were discussing the 190 the other day, here's a video worth watching:
  15. The S models with the sports exhausts might not sound as good as they once did but they're not exactly bad sounding cars either. Comparing the TTRS with the Cayman is a bit like comparing a Jagerbomb to a nice glass of fine wine, they ultimately have the same purpose but go about it in very different ways trying to attract different types of customers. If I could get the TTRS Coupé without the rear spoiler, in that nice blue-greyish colour which looks stunning in person, with different wheels then yeah sure.
  16. Love that shade of blue with the black wheels Mells, I bet Char looks great behind the wheel. :leaves: :p
  17. This looks like one hell of a superhero movie and seems to contain a lot of what makes X Men great:
  18. I'd class the SLS as a supercar, is it uber expensive, uber impractical and all about making a scene? Yeah, the AMG-GT is more of a 'super sports car' I agree. Then again, the McLaren 570S is only classes as a super sports car and I consider that to be nearer a supercar than the AMG-GT. Kind of hard to know where to draw the line? Speed/Performance stats shouldn't be all that decides this. Funnily enough, the TTRS has just been announced, and it hits 0-60 in 3.7 seconds, something the fastest supercars were doing only a few years ago. images from Jalopnik - Drive Free or Die The TTRS has 400bhp, 50 more than the Cayman S above, and does 0-60 0.3 seconds quicker, but pass me the keys to the slower Porsche anyday.
  19. Hey Scott, Welcome to TDUCK! :D I look forward to seeing pics of your Focus RS :)
  20. But AMG have recently given us the SLS and GT-S? If that's not enough for you compared to previous years then what do you want from them, hypercars? Here's the new cayman 718 Cayman: I absolutely love it, those rear haunches are sexy as hell. I'm more of a hardtop kinda guy than a cabrio, so always preferred the cayman to the boxster. Of course, it's no big change from the previous model but I like every small tweak they've made, and the last one was a fantastic drivers car.
  21. Re-read my post  I made this thread subconsciously with that in mind :p Post your opinions on them in here :nods: Regarding your old school choices, Evo/Octane etc, do you still pick up the physical magazines or just the online versions?
  22. Was it a quiet day or were you just on very quiet roads? :hmmm: There's literally no one around Kinda funny how 'familiar' it looks, in that it doesn't look like somewhere half way around the world from here
  23. This is actually why I started this thread, because I feel very much the same on this issue and it's winding me up  I await your rant to see if we're getting wound up about the same people for similar reasons :nods:
  24. Some specced DB9/V8 Vantages simply do not look even half as old as they are though, that's one of the positive aspects of their designs, they're still ridiculously desirable. That said, they're not the most reliable pieces of machine so as soon as they hit under £20k they're going to be risky investments.
