I wonder just how much money they're saving by having cheap tips? I imagine the margins on the AMG models can be quite extensive so the cost-cutting on the pipes is pretty disappointing. Especially when you see those rubbish plastic trim 'exhausts that don't even try to look like exhausts' like in the pic above on high specced S-Classes, do the customers really not deserve slightly better than that Mercedes, really?

Ford Mustang in Europe: Would you?
CarMadMike replied to CarMadMike's topic in Automotive Discussion
The new Shelby GT350 and GT350R are getting amazing reviews state-side, for that kind of money what EU cars are legitimate rivals to them for value for money? Your Porsches will only ever excel in handling, not performance. It's a strange world, no official word on whether the shelby will be coming to europe though just yet. -
Oooh nice upgrade :D What's the spec?

I think all you've proved is that I was right, it's entirely subjective.

I think with this kind of thing it's very subjective, I'd class almost any Maserati as an exotic, not a muscle car. But I can understand your view too. The US thing should have been specified just to avoid confusion and we'll make sure things are clearer in the future :)

Well done on fixing it yourself, I wish I was that handy :hmmm: It's saved you a lot of money!
-
Hmmm nah that sounds like too much effort, I'd either have to get the normal R8, make audi do the change for me, or simply buy something else  I DO NOT WANT THAT GOD DAMN WING.
-
I thought you saying hahahaha was because it was me saying the word yourself hahaha. True though, but when I said yourself I did mean pay someone professional who knows what to do, maybe an ex audi employee, to do it for me, I'm not hands on at alllll with cars haha  As for why I wouldn't have the standard, yeah I guess it is that, it's probably going to be much easier to sell the top spec one too at a later date.

Audi R8 V10 Plus. I'm torn. I absolutely hate the rear wing. The non-plus V10 doesn't have it. It seems to be mandatory on the Plus :( If I cried and begged and said I wouldn't bother spending the almost £200k (how I specced it) on it, would they let me have one without it? I doubt it. Would you be able to remove it yourself after? :hmmm: I wouldn't buy the non-Plus V10, but I just couldn't have that rear wing. People buy the R8 as they don't want the attention a Huracan and that kinda car can bring.

How exciting. They can do that, but when analysing the performance progress made by teams throughout the season, do F1 games usually receive these updated codes 'colloquially known as patches' or not? Have they done so prior to now or have they confirmed it will be happening for 2016, or ....?
-
It concerns me that they're going to go too far from the contemporary capitalist world of Watch Dogs 1, but when it comes to hacking etc there's only so far they can go from that without it becoming Sci-Fi. I really enjoyed WD1 though, one of the only few games i've bothered to play in the past few years tbh.

 Those seats. That car is probably still as capable off road as the car in my post, surely those so keen on off roading as to want a car with a winch etc, but not want the luxuries of sat nav/leather seats would just buy THAT car in your post for a third if not less of the price? I don't get exactly what they're doing here. Will they still offer a G350d that isn't 'professional' that comes with all the luxuries etc? This move from Merc makes me interested in exactly what LR have in store with their new Defender, which is overdue and can't be that long away, they've put a lot of time into it so hopefully it'll be something decent. If LR mess it up and try and make themselves competitors in both price and product to this Merc then it really does beg the question as to why Jeep aren't trying to push the Wrangler over here more than they're already doing, the market is wide open for them.

Jesus, that Baku corner looks just as crazy in the video game. Looking forward to seeing how it goes in real life. How does it work when they're finalising games like this? Renault's Red Bull engines seem to have really come on a lot recently leaving Merc's lead a lot less impressive than we thought it would be in 2016. But they're making progress through the season, how does this reflect in game? I dunno. HELP ME PEOPLE.

Mercedes G35d Professional: Images from Jalopnik - Drive Free or Die The details: - 245bhp 3.0 V6 - 7G Tronic Auto. - Comes with all the locking diffs etc - 15% more efficient than before - Comes with cloth seats and plastic floor mats. - Options for a winch, running boards, caged lights - No info screen, no heated seats etc - Price starts €79,968 At first I was like, I LIKE THIS!, THIS IS MORE LIKE IT!, but the lack of info screen is unforgivable at that price point. It makes the question 'who exactly is this for?' slightly harder to answer. I love the idea of cloth seats, the wooden rear deck thing etc but at that price they're wading into Porsche's infamous LESS = MORE MONEY ideology. As an entry level G, they'll be attracting people who want to be a Kardashian but can't afford the G63, this thing looks the same as that to most people (as it is the same identical thing). But those people will want an infotainment screen etc. You could easily buy this and debadge it and claim you're some hollywood D-list nobody. But that awful looking 'professional' thing where the screen should be is one of the worst things i've seen in a car interior in a long long time.

Why have they put Volvo's new headlight design as their bottom left/right side intake things? My main issue with it is the side view, I really grew to hate the shape of the rear side window and wanted the side profile to change a bit :( The biggest thing in this was improving the interior and considering just how awful the current A5 interior feels and looks in 2016, this is a huge improvement. Obviously the lack of retractable screen is far from perfect.

Ferrari F12 Berlinetta -end of production
CarMadMike replied to F12Berlinetta's topic in Automotive Discussion
It's such an amazing beast. When will we be seeing its replacement, 2018? If I were going to turn up in Maranello with a lot of money I don't think I'd be choosing this though. The GTC4 Lusso would get the money. -
The front bumper's splitter thing is just like 15% tooooo much for the car. The rest of it is absolute perfection. D5 too? Such a good commuter.
