1. Might be worth setting one up so people can join. And then just "promote" it everywhere. Would it be possible to create a league and have the first race 2 or 3 weeks away?
2. BeamNG.drive 0.5.3 Engine Thermal Simulation. Yes, that's right, engine thermal simulation. It sounds incredibly dull and to most people perhaps it is. But I think it's quite an interesting concept to be put into a game, especially one such as BeamNG.drive. Check out the video below which also showcases new particle based physics for smoke. Here's an obligatory second paragraph about Camels lesson in thermodynamics because it's obligatory(I'll get told off if I don't :(). As the owner of a British made MG I am all too familiar with the little issue of a blown head gasket and now I can enjoy them in BeamNG too! Along with other engine damage including pretty catastrophic stuff. The most notable updates and fixes are as follows Engine Thermal Simulation. Oh, have I mentioned this one already? Improved ground modelling for better collisions Added an on-screen navigation map/satnav More bugfixes and tweaks than you can shake a beam at I could post the entire list of features, fixes and other awesome stuff here, but I don't think the resident Duck is long enough to accommodate them all. But do feel free to pop over to the BeamNG site here to have a browse at your leisure. [gallery columns=4" link="file" ids="4580,4583,4582,4581" orderby="rand]
3. My almost weekly instalment of turboduck time attack piccy thingies is here and there's even a bonus or 2 today. Bonus 1, I do crash so you have hope afterall... Bonus 2, a me!
4. My plan for the weekend was RUINED! I spotted that the GTA Trilogy pack had been released on PS4 and was on offer over the weekend so bought that. GTA3, Vice City and San Andreas for £15. Only played GTA 3 so far but the memories. Brilliant fun to be playing it again as it was meant to be played, on a PlayStation with a proper pad. Will be doing all 3 of them justice and getting the platinum trophies for 100% completion on them. :nods:
5. 9:54.226 with the KTM XBow. That thing really does not like the bumpyness of the track! Took it really easy in the second half of the lap though because I just wanted a clean lap after the high speed sections that have standing water on hills. Caught me out first 2 times around. Got a few more cars that I'll try if I have time.
6. Congrats to iiiiiiiSoundwave, again... :impat: Let's see if I can make a return to my 0 votes ways again :derp:
7. Thanks Evo for the Good Times! Sony decided to unveil just before the Easter bank holiday that they were in the process of closing down Evolution Studios (also gave us WRC and Motorstorm) which means that DRIVECLUB, at least eventually will be nothing more than a distant memory. Happy Easter everybody. A game that has shown so much promise and so much potential is going to be pulled away from right in front of us. Much like another franchise that a lot of us have fond memories of. Sony's statement: Regular reviews take place throughout SCE Worldwide Studios, ensuring that the resources that we have in such a competitive landscape can create and produce high quality, innovative and commercially viable projects. As part of this process we have reviewed and assessed all current projects and plans for the short and medium term and have decided to make some changes to the European studios structure. As a result, it has been decided that Evolution Studio will close. It is regrettable that this decision will lead to compulsory redundancies. We accept that this decision will mean that we risk losing high calibre staff but by focusing on other Studios that already have exciting new projects in development we believe we will be in a stronger position going forward and able to offer the best possible content of the highest quality for our consumers. Where possible we will try to reallocate people onto other projects. If appropriate opportunities are not possible within the company, we will assist staff in any way we can, including speaking with local employers and with other development companies. Evolution has been an important part of SCE Worldwide Studios for over 10 years - working on ground-breaking racing titles like WRC, Motorstorm and DRIVECLUB. This decision should not take anything away from the great work that Evolution has produced. Evo Game Director, Paul Rustchynsky and Senior Community Manager, Jamie Brayshaw took to Twitter to voice their opinions on the closure: On the bright side, the former Content and Community Manager of Need For Speed 2015 developer Ghost Games would be happy to see them join the team. (who wouldn't!) Evo pushed the boundaries of the technology and created masterpieces that will be remembered in the hearts and minds of their many fans. They will be missed. We at turboduck wish the whole team good luck for the future and look forward to seeing what they do next. Hopefully the DRIVECLUB IP will do well within the PlayStation household and will get the attention it had been getting from Evo, although it's hard to say to if the talent and passion they showed the game will continue with whichever outfit gets tasked with it next. Perhaps it might even be sold on to another developer (we hear Activision love to kill good things - still missing you Bizarre Creations) who can and will do the game justice. Or maybe even the staff of Evolution Studios will split from Sony and start up again. Check out this teasing tweet from the former game director... There's still hours of enjoyment to be had from DRIVECLUB for myself with the recent purchase of the bikes expansion still to explore. So for the time being we can still all enjoy the game as it stands, but without any future updates from those that took it to where it is now. I for one would like to say a massive thank you to all of those involved with the making of DRIVECLUB and also everyone (developers and players) for persevering through it's somewhat questionable and rocky start to life, helping make it into the game that we have today. Good luck to those that will be affected as a result of this studio closure and all the best for your future!
8. Haha that's brill. Did you really manage a clean lap with the Limo on a wet Nurburgring?
9. That's a fair point but I'm more of a buy to own kinda guy. But if we can get enough interest going and make it last long I wouldn't mind paying for it. :)
10. Some GTA3! Reliving my childhood. Twitch
11. Turns out I can't race any cars that aren't racecars now, because the damn racecar time trial. :toetap:
12. Ooh forgot about this. Would be up for joining a turboduck league again. :nods: Although I do remember it got a bit rubbish when you couldn't use the race viewer thing anymore unless you paid money. :hmmm:
13. Sounds like you all had fun again! Does anyone have a capture card? If you're ever on later in the evenings post a thread up or something and I'll hop on. Sunday afternoons just aren't doable for me anymore. :(
14. [headline]Hello Old Friends[/headline] What's this about? Think of it as turboduck's own Rivals, but with some proper rivalry in the community. The Rules: You must use the car (or a car that meets the restrictions) and track chosen by the previous winner. Tuning/Setups are allowed this week. Dirty laps do not count, stay off the lawn kids. Laps do not have to be from a standing start (flying laps count). If you already have a faster lap recorded outside of the competition, this does not count, you must record another and take a picture for proof. Banana for scale. If you win, don't forget to chose a car/track for the next week before Monday! Make sure to do your times in RIVALS (or free play), they will not be recorded in test drive. The time attack ends Saturday at 23:59 GMT and the winner has 24 hours to choose, then it defaults to the person in second if no choice is made. 15. But technically you didn't. You were too busy playing the unmentionable game. Henceforth you are banned for all eternity and thereafter. :nods:
16. Apart from the leaderboards show the date the time was set. :cheeky: And it was actually 00:00 so the evidence you provided to this, erm, court was falsified so your case has been thrown out. :panic:
17. It's not over for 11 minutes. You crazy people and your wrong time zones. :p
18. 1:32.666 Beat my evil time at your own peril. I will have to release my inner thing from last week. But 666 was too appropriate to not post.
19. These older mods are long gone and while someone may still have a copy of it we do not allow the sharing of mods without the authors permission. :locked:
20. Not necessarily. Do I have to do another lecture about computers? :cheeky:
21. Why on earth have they closed down Evo Studios? After how successful Driveclub has been and still is. Unless they want to try and boost sales for their GT: Sports game. Hope it's not so they can fund another sodding dance dance disco club make your self look like a massive anus dance dance game that don't sell very well...
22. You never mentioned anything about Windows 10! This is why I don't like troubleshooting computer problems without having physical access to the system at fault. Makes it so easy to overlook something. A corrupt OS won't necessarily give any warnings or errors. Had a few servers this week go rogue and randomly getting stuck in boot loops. Shows BIOS before a black screen then straight to BIOS again repeatedly for about 10 hours! Ry makes a good point but for those of us living in this decade, you can make a bootable liveUSB that is pretty much the same but it's on a USB stick rather than one of those weird round shiny things. Or you could be a smart arse like me and run a PXE boot server from a NAS/local server so you don't even need a HDD (I think). Although for most people, just a Windows7/8/10 install USB is more than good enough to fix the OS
