  2. Ah, I've loved this car for as long as I can remember (I've had a model of it since 1997). Is it road legal though?
  3. The ability to get in a Ferrari 308GTS, drive around Honolulu and pretend I'm Tom Selleck in Magnum P.I.
  4. Nice... if it was built from the ground up as a separate car. But if it was once a normal Enzo, I think they've ruined it. I would happily take that over the Veyron though, it does look insane =D. Probably the closest thing to a road FXX.
  5. I never took much of a liking to BTCC... Not because of the type of racing, just the lack of interesting cars IMO. Personally, I prefer Time Attack, but every man's sport to his own. And NASCAR takes no skill? Yeah, I guess you're right. I guess a dog could definitely drive for 500 miles at 200mph with 40+ other cars very closely to each other. [/sarcasm]. It takes lots of skill. Just because you don't need to know how to initiate, control and come out of 70mph slides at optimum speed and angle, or maintain perfect throttle/clutch control to get perfect launches and shifts on a drag strip, it doesn't mean you don't need to know anything. You need to follow a specific line to maintain optimum speed at all times at the same time as not making contact with the other cars around you. You have to make decisions on whether you have enough space and time to overtake another car, and what position on the line you'll be in after you've overtaken and how that will effect your speed for the next few laps with about half a second to think about it. You make one small jolt or timing mistake and... well, I'm sure you've seen the huge crashes that happen on a regular basis. If you can find a dog that can last 1 race in NASCAR, you'll be a very rich man.
  6. "Faffing around with hybrids" is bringing in the money right now, which is why they're doing it and why they cancelled production of a new road NSX, so it's doubtful they'll change their minds. But it would be quite nice to see on the road, I just don't see it getting many sales at all.
  7. I wouldn't say 5G did it in a boring way at all, they just stuck to the point. Each show is for a different audience. 5G aimed to be an informative show about motoring, and TG aimed to be an informative, entertainment program. But more on the side of entertainment than informative, at which it failed a lot of the time IMO. But a lot of other people found it funny and entertaining, so they continued to do it the way they were doing it. It's just only recently started to show that it turns out not everybody thinks so.
  8. Too many to mention, and all on public roads (all on A roads, come to think of it...). Notably was racing a Pulsar on the way to Silverstone in the pouring rain at around 90mph, then sliding around a roundabout at about 60mph (at which point the Pulsar managed to escape). Another would be a couple of months ago with my dad in our Saab; There's a cream, completely riced out E36 BMW 325i near where we live: It has Fox Racing wheels, a "MOTORSPORT" sticker along the top of the windshield, chrome door handles and door trim, a cheap body kit held together with duct tape, a 4" backbox, a huge wing, Lexus lights (Altezzas) and a home-made Boser hood (he's literally just got a hood that's too long for it and hammered the end down). He's a typical BMW driver and boy racer. We were going up the A4 and when we stopped at the lights, we noticed that we were parked next to him. Seeing what it was, it was pretty obvious what was going to happen. We pulled away normally and he decided that even though we weren't racing (yet), he didn't want us to be infront away from the lights. And he was on the phone. He almost pulled in front of us, and my dad put his foot down, and the BMW disappeared. We got up to around 80mph and we saw sirens in the distance behind us, so we slowed back down to 40mph and sat in the middle of traffic. The BMW then passed us (the guy, after being blown away from about 10-80 thought he still had a chance, so was still trying to race, and was still on his mobile) and the police car came flying past us and after the BMW. It pulled him over, left a police office or two with the BMW driver and shot off up the A4, so we pulled round the back of PC World (by some warehouses) and parked inbetween two huge vans and quickly got inside. That was quite a rush xD. He's still around, but now he's just another person who knows that not to play with our Saab anymore.
  9. To be honest, I've found it dull for the past couple of years, which is why I don't even watch the new series' when they come out; I don't find it funny, jokes are made about problems that aren't even problems, and there's not enough there for the car fanatic. People always say to me "I would have thought you would definitely watch it..."; there's not enough there for me and many other motoring fans. If I'm going to watch a review of a supercar, I want to know specifics; benchmarks, years of testing and problems that were found, how they were fixed, why it was made a certain way, why something was included over something else, how well it competes against others. Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is what a specialist program that is meant to cater for fanatics of this kind of specialist subject is meant to provide. Unfortunately, Top Gear starts off with specifics, and continues with a load of jokes. I'd much rather enjoy a full episode of Fifth Gear or Best Motoring than enjoy a tiny bit of Top Gear. I don't mind if it falls through at all; the presenter's single shows are written much better and are a lot more topical in themselves than Top Gear has shown to be the past few years anyway.
  10. While this won't effect me in any way at all, I'm aware that a lot of you lot watch Top Gear, so there's the latest :p. If it does end, I don't expect it to end until at least 3 million views if they still aim to finish Top Gear with dignity.
  11. I don't think the English PC versions of TDU had the map (would have been useful if it did have it though). But yeah, the map in the normal version would be better.
  12. Map of the island, Artwork collection, The Making of extra DVD, soundtrack and a little badge next to your online name in-game (like the H for Hardcore mode and the crown for Champion on TDU) or a different colour name.
  13. Ah, we had a little bit yesterday, but only a tiny bit (barely even settled). Apparently we're going to get loads tonight, but the weather channel said that last night and the night before too :p.
  14. Would be spending this christmas in Los Angeles, but our kitten is being neutered this week and with that and his age (only a few months old) he can't exactly be put in a caterie just yet. So, I'll be spending it in boring old London :p. Merry Christmas everyone! :)
  15. Aside from a GT-R in the city on Friday, nothing :p. -- OLD IMAGE REMOVED (imageshack) --

  18. Hey everyone, After a few weeks of searching, I can't find a website or a person anywhere that prices up PCs for sale, so I thought to myself: "Hmmm... I wonder if there's a community out there filled with amazingly sexy genius' that would be able to help me with this problem...", and that's when I thought of the one place I'm always able to turn to: TDU-C :D. So, my PC has been sitting around doing nothing for the best part of this past year since I got my laptop, and seeing as I need money for a car soon, I've decided to sell the PC, the G25, the G15 and pretty much everything else I don't use. I can easily get pricing for everything else, but not for my PC, which is where I need help... Specs: Motherboard: Sun Microsystems K85AE Processors: 2x AMD Opteron 64 Processor 250 (2.4GHz) (Spare 2x AMD Opteron 64 Processor 250 (2.4Ghz)) Memory: 16GB PC3200 ECC (8x 2048MB) Storage: 3x 147GB Fujitsu Ultra320 SCSI Drives @ 10,000rpm 1x 250GB Hitachi SATA Drive @ 7,200rpm Video Card(s): ATi Radeon X1950 Pro Sapphire 512mb (AGP 8x) 2x Nvidia Quadro FX3000 256mb (AGP 8x) PSU: 550 W, 90-264 V, 47-63 Hz Network: 10/100/1000-Mbps BASE-T Gigabit Ethernet Other: 1x DVD Drive 1x DVD Re-writer 5x USB 2.0 ports 2x IEEE 1394a (FireWire) ports 1x Parallel port 2x Serial ports Dimensions and Weight: Height - 462 mm (18.2 inches) Width - 200 mm (7.9 inches) Depth - 557 mm (21.9 inches) Weight - 24 kg (53 lb) --------------- This is the highest spec version of the W2100z available and had a 16GB memory upgrade (approx. $1500). The release price in late 2004 / early 2005 was $8,695.00 for the same processors, but just 4GB RAM, 1x 73GB SCSI drive, 1x Quadro FX3000 and 1x DVD Drive. Nowadays, the processors go for around £150-£200 per pair, the FX3000s go for £150-£200 each, X1950s go for around £40 and not sure about the rest of it. I've looked all over eBay for similar set-ups, and I've been monitoring a bunch of W2100Zs over the past few months, and the lowest spec versions (1x 2.6Ghz processor / 2x 1.8Ghz processor, 1GB RAM, Quadro NVS280 64mb GFX card, 1x DVD Drive and 1x 40GB SCSI drive) have been selling quite well for around £300. I could go out there and put an estimated price tag up and sell it, but I'd like to get as much as possible for it. Does anyone have any experience with Sun Java workstations? Or does anyone know in general how much this would go for? Thanks for your time everyone :).
  19. Hmmm, the only ones I agree with are the R8 and the Carrera GT. The ACR shouldn't be a classic, like tWm said, it's just a big powerhouse, there's nothing special about it; it's not a great design, the interior isn't that nice, it's just a really powerful version of the normal Viper. If a Viper is thrown in there, it needs to either be the 1st gen, or a 2nd gen GTS-R.
  20. Nothing of interest, but saw a Black Ferrari California (2009) the other day, was pretty cool. And a couple F430s over the past week or so, but nothing out of the norm.
  21. Lol, funny, but not the end of the world. If he can afford to blow $1.6 million on a car once, he can do it again :p.
  22. My friend went last year and said it was ok, but definitely not worth the price of the gold tickets (or w/e they were called).
  23. Lol, I do it all the time :p.
  24. Pretty nice, but my 4-door of choice would still be a Porsche Panamera or a Bentley CGT 4-door. While everything about this seems exciting, for a 4-door I really don't think any of it is needed, and with the price tag that will go with it, I doubt anyone will drive it that often either :p.
  25. Nothing today; red Ferrari 430 Spyder and a slammed Ford Popular on the back of a truck :|.
