  1. Yeah I got it was well for the performance benefits. May not install it for a while, in case I format, etc.
  2. Dunno, never had a PS2 but I assume like the original Xbox it wasn't something used much.
  3. We setup a new thread with an Aussie theme? :umm:
  4. Maybe but I would find it a little odd that PD pull the plug on GT5 multiplayer but GT4 is ok.
  5. Oooh that does have a sweet little note to it! And did I detect throttle blips on the downshifts? :D *makes sure speakers are turned down again before I break the forum lights*
  6. Same, been on a roll with my coding so will keep at it - might cruise tomorrow instead.
  7. Some Train sim company owns the rights to Flight Sim X and they've re-released it onto Steam (currently 50% off). According to a user review on Steam, the game is the Deluxe/Gold edition (with Acceleration expansion pack) and it performs better now, and works well on Windows 8.1 + 10 TP. Possibly there's a 64bit version now??? Save 50% on Microsoft Flight Simulator X: Steam Edition on Steam
  8. Get GTR2 and/or Race 07 (plus various expansion pack(s)) - you will want some sort of steering wheel for PC sims though. GTR2 has events to unlock tracks. There's not much in the PC-specific space for buying/unlocking/collecting cars. NFS Shift games probably come close. As do the DiRT and GRID series, although you may already have played them on console. If you really want to grind for cars, try out SimRaceWay and/or Auto Club Revolution which are free. They encourage you to spend real money on cars but they can be unlocked for free by grinding. Personally I think SRW has the best model. RaceRoom on the other hand doesn't let you do much more for free than a demo for a full game. GRID Autosport is 75% off on Steam today, but despite purchasing it months ago I've never played it so can't offer a review. So my two picks to start off with are SimRaceWay (free) and GTR2 (very cheap on Steam). Put the money towards a wheel such as a Logitech DFGT or G25/27 on eBay if you have limited funds.
  9. Should be playing roughly 7 hours from now. Can join later on of course although I won't be around for ages. That said if we get a full crew I'm tempted to do one of the long faction missions as they can kinda be like big cruises, with the navigation already taken care of, and it should prevent some from stopping every 10 minutes. :p
  10. :bump:
  11. Nice one. I'e heard a few people going after that achievement (to watch the launch) just park near it and wait for up to 45 minutes instead of just going to that landmark cutscene.
  12. New tyres ;)
  13. I need to get another one too I reckon. Was only about a year ago that I replaced my original one, and the VW girl said my car suddenly only needed a smaller/cheaper one. Great... but now I almost can't start my car if I don't drive it more than 10km in a week (which I am borderline on with the motorbike). Already been caught out twice this year and have since disabled the rain sensor when the car is parked.
  14. Noice
  15. I could totally do all of that  :bsad:
  16. Some leapfrog and leap train Nice relaxing convoy cruise
  17. Nice one, Herby
  18. Yep, remember seeing that shown off many years ago https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i08iFTOTDPA
  19. Yep, just a shame most of the playerbase don't seem to understand that fixing things takes more than a week.
  20. If there was one zone that looked the most like TDU1 in it's feel it would have to be the west coast.
  21. Tip (for those who care about award points) - save the Landmarks for when you're in a fullstock car - as the $2k will add up making it easier to get the 'Money earned' awards.
