  1. PS4 update 4.70 update causing issues for some 4.70 Almost Bricked My PS4 - Anyone Else? : PS4
  2. Apparently a bunch of SMS developers are a bit upset because the Ultra edition sold out too fast for them to purchase for themselves
  3. I haven't watched this yet, but if you jump to around the 30 minute mark in this nVidia press conference there's some pCARS2 footage which apparently shows a decent AI battle Watch NVIDIAs Computex 2017 Keynote Livestream Here Probably some interesting nVidia news in there too
  4. I didn't notice the absolute tooltip times, that'll do. :fp: :)
  5. The Postbit isn't showing what time of day a post was made. Can you please add this? I was trying to work out what time some lads went on a TDU1 cruise and if the timezone difference would make it remotely possible to join them.
  6. Once again another Need for Speed game based in USA. Surely I'm not the only over it? Am I right in thinking we haven't had NFS feature other countries since Hot Pursuit 2 (2001)? - excluding the Shift games of course. Forza must have proven that other locations sell. At least we know it's got day time now.
  7. I guess this counts as a picture: Still on the shopping list: and probably heaps more that I'll think of along the way. PS I've been using Google Keep for this kind of thing (reminders, tasks, synchronised sticky notes, etc) for a few months now - quite handy.
  8. The monitor is bigger than I imagined so I've never bothered to go multi-monitor with my old 1080p display (plus the cable isn't long enough to reach the PC beyond the new screen) Just too far away to look at, couldn't even reach the edge of the 2nd monitor from where I'm sitting. Anyway the desk is all built and painted (not orange or brown either) - something called Ironstone which has a modern-ish feel to it. Anyway the main reason for finding this thread was to mention those newly announced Intel Skylake-X HEDT CPU's. The i7 7820X appears to be the sweet spot, somewhat similar to the AMD Ryzen 1800X with 8 cores + 16 threads, but Intel will have a higher IPC rate, will boost out of the box to 4.5GHz, and has 28 PCI lanes instead of AMD's 16. It's a little over $100USD more expensive than the 1800X. There's only one catch. The X299 platform demands that all motherboards support all CPUs. That means that it is possible to purchase an expensive motherboard that has features intended for higher end CPUs with 44 PCI lanes, which a 28- or 16-lane CPU couldn't take full advantage of. I suspect that my proposed build (only one graphics card and one (or maybe eventually 2) M.2 NVME storage drives won't be bottlenecked, whereas a 44-lane CPU would be for multiple GFX cards and 10gb NICs. In any case, motherboard spec sheets will have to be very detailed to explain this. It seems that the 8000 CPU's (i.e. 8700K) will also come out later this year. The newly announced 'Kaby Lake X' CPUs are basically just like the 7700K but with no integrated graphics and higher TDP (power draw) which enables slightly better performance (but might have the best single-threaded performance for now). The only other catch is that I'm spending a fair bit of savings on moving out of the nest so a new HEDT may not remain a priority this year. My Internet connection should hopefully be much faster though.
  9. The who now? :umm: The only effect I'm going for is 'the taking part'
  10. I don't mind the idea of every 10th or last comp of even numbered months allowing editing, even though I have no skills.
  11. Beauty and the Beast - gotta say it was very good recreation of the original cartoon version (as far as I can remember, it's been a very long time). Recommended if you're into that kind of thing.
  12. Reminds me of that ice cream thing from a few years back
  13. All I want to know is why is he ripping off other studio's trademarks? (Soon TM) :)
  14. While I did own the original CB and played a bit of the first world, I was probably too young at the time and found it pretty hard. I was a big fan of Crash Team Racing and Crash Bash on PS1 however. Even owned a multi-tap for 4-player split screen. Anyway the original trilogy is coming in a few weeks and you can see a preview and comparison with PS1 below. Overall they seem to have done a good job. Anyone planning on picking this up?
  15. I thought Midnight Club 3 = MCLA? :welcome:
  16. One year later and well, no news is good news right?
  17. We have actually done this once before. If I recall correctly, we struggled creating/joining our own private lobby (assuming that feature existed) so ended up on a quiet server but others did join and cause a few on-track issues. It was otherwise ok besides @gsto2 aka @pyrre being way too fast for us.
  18. I thought they might already have, but I can't remember now...
  19. If the button got stuck wouldn't that always turn your PC off after 5-10 seconds? @johnwalter1044
  20. The only thing I could see in Event Viewer (which is where I looked first) was it attempting (but failing) to synchronise the clock with a time server. I thought I had already disabled the network adapters from waking the PC because I was no longer able to Wake On LAN. Time will tell if this resolves it.
  21. The post is more or less for my benefit next time I run into this and forget what I did  The most useful part is seeing what actually woke up the PC instead of disabling everything and trying to enable one thing at a time.
  22. Right so I'm up early because every time I shutdown my PC there's a 50% chance of it coming on 20 seconds later . I'd already done the usual stuff, update BIOS, alter UEFI settings, disable wake permissions from various items in Device Manager, etc. Here's a way I've stumbled across on how to do it (presumably) for Windows 10. Do this right after the PC turns itself on: Open CMD Type powercfg /lastwake As you can see the culprit is listed as the network adapter. I'm sure I had already disabled that via Device Manager but let's continue... Now if you want, compare the list of devices that can wake your PC Type powercfg /devicequery wake_armed Now to disable it, type powercfg /devicedisablewake "your device here" Give that a go. If problems persist then repeat this and see if another device needs disabling. If you want to see what else you can do with this tool then just type /? after any command, i.e. powercfg /? or powercfg /devicequery /?
  23. With the exception of adding loopdeloops, etc for the Summit monster trucks, odds are that the devs responsible for making maps and assets haven't really had a heap to do for TC1 since it released in late 2014. A 2018 release for TC2 means they get around 4 years, which is less than TC1, but they already have a proven game engine and a whole bunch of assets (i.e. trees, buildings, signs, etc) that could be reused to some extent. So it's not impossible to rule out a completely new location, although I don't think I'd mind if the ol' USA were still accessible (in addition to a new area). The single biggest problem with interior camera views imo which sadly was never addressed was the built-in fidgeting both of the steering wheel movement and the camera view. When my own head and steering wheel moves in the real world having the game do something else breaks immersion and can even make me feel ill after a while. If they add VR support for TC2 then they would absolutely have to turn that off. When I gave up trying to make it drive like a sim and just grabbed a gamepad and 3rd person view it wasn't too bad in the end, especially with those online police chases. And for @Ozzmcom's sake they need to sort out the upshift sound. :)
