  1. I'm with Diablo on this one. Just as long as the mod cars for TDU work in TDU2 (assuming the developers don't add them as standard).
  2. +1 msg2short
  3. Could you imagine the 10,001st person who bought the game, created an account, did the tutorial, then got the error message: "Sorry, all of the available houses are already owned and occupied. Try signing in again later." muahaha!!!! :D  I second the adding of residential areas into TDU2. The only thing is, though, if there's an acheivment for driving on all the roads, these residential roads shouldn't count towards that (like the race track and Eden Island). You unlock map warp access to those small roads when you drive on the closest main road.
  4. I want to unlock an aeroplane so that I can fly around quickly and swoop down on the noobs in Saleen S7's
  5. +Rep for kalniel  The one thing I want from TDU2 is a much larger environment/map, with DLC including new territories to explore, both factual and fictional. Allow community to mod tracks/rally stages/cities/whatever into the game.
  6. Voted yes. Would be boring if the Saturn Sky was the worst car in both games. :) Car makers should make free/cheap addon cars for TDU Next as a way of advertising, since 5th Gear is gone now.
  7. Skipping the above posts, I had the same problem that drove me mad for a good 6 months. I built a system with 4GB of DDR3 Corsair RAM, when DDR3 was pretty new. Swapped pretty much every part with replacements from the supplier, ran the system as bare as possible, formatted a lot, ran MemTest after MemTest, Burn-In tests, etc. The thing that made the largest difference was selling my RAM at a loss, then changing to OCZ, 4GB DDR3. PC hardly ever freezes now (occasionally, maybe once a fortnight, which I can sortof live with). Hope this helps.
  8. I wouldn't ask here about that, particularly that type of system. Some other places that spring to mind are the fourms at Tom's Hardware and Experts-Exchange. I can't belive you paid so much for a PC, I didn't think there were that many high-end games in 2004 :D
  9. Thanks guys. I'm slowly working on a new 'Speed Car Productions' movie that should be more epic'er. :D
  10. I don't mind helping.
  11. I'll link you to the original source of information for now. I might prepare my own tutorial with pictures, etc later on. http://vogons.zetafleet.com/viewtopic.php?t=22652&sid=6943b52a658493a6e806bec571c09d39 Noet that this doesn't work if you are using 64 bit Windows (the setup files for NFS 2 + 3 fail since they are 16-bit applications). Maybe there is a way around it, but fortunately I had a laptop running XP SP3, and it worked perfectly on that. I've had limited success in the past using similar info from a variety of soruces, but couldn't always replicate the results when I formatted my PC. It's nice to have all the info there in the one place.

  13. I've been adding new 30cm texture mods recently to make the world detail look even better. The creator has his own site that links to his mods over here: http://sites.google.com/site/aimecreations/freeware-fsx Hope this helps. Might have to setup a mile-high cruise one day :D
  14. Don't be afriad to experiment with the values. You've got backups of the original, and the mods are still online here. Make the TimeScale smaller to speed things up - i.e. 10. If I've got it around the wrong way, make it 100. The game default is 50. I don't even have this mod installed, so I don't know what value it is using.
  15. Looks great - just need a sound mod to go with it now. I wonder if anyone knows how to convert them from NFS Shift.
  16. It's an alright start. What software are you using to edit the video? Here's one that I've done in case it gives you any tips/inspiration. I'd be happy to help you further with this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SQnMK-PIbjc
  17. I prefer Fraps, but GameCam offers compression on the fly if I'm not mistaken. However, compressing on the fly requires a much faster PC capable of very high FPS. It's easier and cheaper to increase your HDD space than it is to upgrade everything else. I have a 2TB drive that only stores Recorded TV and Fraps footage (and it's nearly full, need to sort through it and delete out-takes).
  18. The TimeScale one. It's about 11 lines from the top.
  19. Lasts about 3-4 hours I think. I was playing it all day last week, and after about 6 hours it had gone from foggy (morning) to mid-day and back to foggy (evening) again. You can change the timescale by editing a number in the WeatherDesc.ini file in your FX folder.
  20. Looks alright. I'm not sure about the night pics though, since some of the objects still look like there's a massive flood light shining on them when you drive past (reminds me of NFS II SE in night mode). :) If you want to change how quickly the weather changes, go into the FX folder, open up 'WeatherDesc.ini' and checge the value for TimeScale (the 11th line).
  21. Looking really good. Would be cool if someone could make a snow-mobile mod to replace the Triumph motorbike.
  22. 'Crash Time III' is a game that is based on the German Autobahn, and not half bad. It's on Steam for $20. I played it and recommend it.
  23. Thanks Tool Looks good
  24. It's an Instant Messenger program that works inside games. Press a key combination and it overlays in your games so that you don't have to Alt+Tab to talk to others. It has a few other functions as well. http://www.xfire.com
  25. Fair enough. One last suggestion, is to create a boolean variable such as 'blnSaved' and set it to false when any changes are made, and change it to true when the 'Save Performance Data' menu item is pressed. If it is false when the user tries to exit, give them a prompt asking if they are sure they want to quit without saving. I've forgotten to do it a few times now :) Might be better off having buttons at the bottom right of the window, independent of the tabs: 'Close' & 'Save and Close' That's just my suggestions. I'm on xfire if you'd rather keep this thread clean.
