  1. Life is too long to withstand the constant ridicule for driving that thing
  2. Agree that games don't teach you how to drive, but they can teach you what [not] to do when you're about to mess it up (crash). If everyone was great at realistic driving games, even with a G27, there'd be fewer accidents on the road.
  3. What specific aspect of driving? There's that Russian driving simulator intended for learners. Or one of the above sims or even LFS for advanced car control (make sure you pick a road car). Do note that the G27's force feedback system won't properly replicate what you would feel in a real car, but if you pick the right sim you'll certainly get an understanding of how the car reacts to your inputs. Key is to start slow and smooth, and look far ahead. In a real ar you'd be turning your neck to look as far around the bend as possible. GTR2 and Richard Burns Rally have an in-game driving school, and there are iRAcing driving school videos that you can watch. Or look out for the Apex book that comes with Gran Turismo for more theory.
  4. Just be happy that you didn't win and have to record a fart for us, Milli.
  5. The other thing to consider is that both your game engine and the end-user device (console) have to support this as well. So it means investing in a massive overhaul, which is plenty harder when you have 1000 cars that you want to keep on recycling. The physics and tyre engines etc have to tell the audio engine when to play what sounds. Might be playing 32 samples together, not sure. All I know is the more you have (and don't forget to add extra basic samples for all the AI around you), the more CPU you need. Maybe ship a game with only a few hundred premium cars, and then players can unlock the 'retro' cars by completing 80% of the career mode.
  6. Bit of a bump
  7. After much deliberation we finally have a winner. Put your hooves together for mau92  :hdance: Just post that picture of the 3 Dacia Sandero's and the key is yours! :cheeese:
  8. Very glad to see more studios not playing things safe and pushing their boundaries.
  9. Yep, just waiting for some spare time, and wheel fixes. Some say nothing has changed from DiRT3 as far as wheel settings go, and DiRT3 is unplayable for me (which is odd given that DiRT 2 is good).
  10. That is really quite good Milli.
  11. Well maybe stick to a normal bicycle when young like normal people. Do a few training courses (that provide their own bikes and gear) if available and see how you go, perhaps. That's how I started.
  12. I'll give it the odd squirt, but I'm familiar with best engine run-in practices. Put load on the engine, don't sit at one RPM for too long, and don't redline it. :) Progressively give it more and more as you go, just make sure it's warmed up. 110bhp is plenty power, so +/- 5 isn't going to be a big issue.
  13. Yeah, I still haven't edited a group ride from 12 months ago.... and still on the GoPro HD 1... GP4 is good but it's still a pain to use on a bike unless you're doing it all the time. I'm interested in the Sena camera but waiting for a v2 hoping they fix a few things. In the meantime 2013 Street Triple R Test Ride and Review - YouTube
  14. Mau, could you perhaps refine your competition entry, to make it more first person? And add more smileys! :) turboduck Competition Competition. Win a Steam key for Project CARS! - Page 2 | turboduck forum

  15. I clicked the button 'send xxx a tweet' and typed in my 140 chars. It ended up in my feed but not theirs. Ah, so it should be fine, for you (and everyone else) to see it I should have put @officialTriumph at the end of the message.
  16. The wine/whistle is there at all RPMs, give it the beans and it ROARs. But I'm not allowed to do that yet. (1500kms to go)
  17. For those not yet aware, Richard Hammond is now on the tube https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC24PHSDf2ZsNiRJW4oDTmog
  18. The mirrors are completely useless! They show a small portion of road next to my rear tyre, and I can't adjust them upwards any further. I don't know how Twitter works but I think I've sent @officialTriumph a [brief] 'what on earth were you guys thinking!?' complaint.
  19. Funny I hated the red wheels in photos but they do look good in person. Self preservation is high in my list of priorities. :) I'll be taking it easy, the bike seemed happy to cruise at 80kph in 2nd gear to my surprise (would normally be in 4th or 5th on the Honda) - conversely the Striple is also happy doing low speeds in top gear. It does have a quick shifter which may turn out handy for an eventual 0-100kph test but I have to keep the revs under 5k during the engine run-in. 3.x seconds seems achievable based on videos.
  20. Honda CBR500R ABS > Triumph Street Triple RX ABS 471cc > 675cc 2cyl > 3cyl 48bhp > 110bhp 192kg > ~168kg
  21. I can't wait!
