  1. It was always going to be an iPhone user who couldn't understand the bit about using a template and using the correct colour, wasn't it? :cheeky:
  2. Not another bloody horse.. oh wait, it's Jazzi, nvm
  3. There has to be a decent number of iSheep and other smartphone users here, and we all know the various app stores make the phone twice as good as when we first turned them on, so share your favourite apps here. Type in Blue for iPhone, Green for Android, and Red for Windows Mobile. I might maintain a list here at the start for easy reading, depending on how good the response is. Smart Vibrator I was a little annoyed to find out that my phone only vibrated once for an incoming call, instead of constantly. I found this app, where you can manually enter vibration patterns for incoming calls and SMS message. Type "." for a short pulse, "-" for a longer one, and "_" for a strong one. A space gives a 0.5 second pause. So for incoming calls I've entered "-_ -_ -_ -_ -_ -_ -_ -_ -_ -_ -_ -_ -_ -_ -_" Click to Download Radar Detector This interesting little app claims that most phones naturally can detect radiation, and that this app uses this to warn you about nearby radars (i.e. speed and red light cameras). I tested it out and it definately did detect a few cameras, but there were some that it didn't (unless the cameras were off at the time). Most newer cameras use laser instead of radar, which this won't detect. I wouldn't rely on it, but it's nice to have. There's always Trapster as well. Click to Download .nomedia Manager This app lets you mark folders as containing no media, so that the Android OS will skip checking these folders, so that their contents don't end up in the gallery or music player. Handy if you have images or ringtones saved on your device that aren't proper photos or music/songs. Click to Download No Lock Removes the lock screen when you wake up the phone, so that you don't have to slide things anywhere - just hit the power button to wake it up and you're good to go. Click to Download TeamViewer Free TeamViewer is one of the best free Remote Desktop programs out there for controlling your home PC while out and about, and for helping your grandparents setup Skype. This is the Android client. Free for non-commercial use. Click to Download Hit the 'Reply With Quote' button to use my post as a template for yours (just remember to delete the quote tags, etc and edit from there)...
  4. Because sales people lie and consumers don't do enough of their own research to realise that there is pretty much no difference in quality when using digital signals/cables. :)
  5. Nice vids - I haven't even finished the first (or was it second) part of the career yet, let alone try Monte Carlo and the online game modes. Have they fixed the bugs yet?
  6. I hope there aren't too many missions where you constantly have to Shift like that
  7. You enjoyed the story, the voice-acting, the puzzles, the 'aha' moments, and you thought co-op was brilliant. You even started playing it a second time, getting extra achievements, but as epic as it might've been, the experience was wearing off a bit. Now would be a great time, then, to visit thinkingwithportals.com to get some new Single Player or Co-op maps to bring back those joyful experiences (well, at least the puzzle solving and aha moment ones) :) A friend and I downloading some of the co-op maps with 4 or 5 stars and found some of them very challenging (good luck finishing the 'Turret Love' level, for example). How to install levels I'm not an expert at this yet, but once you've downloaded and extracted the maps you want to try, there are two places you can place the levels, based on their file extension. Go to ...\Steam\steamapps\common\portal 2\portal2\ Files with a *.bsp extension go into the 'maps' folder (keep a note of the filename somewhere - i.e. in a Steam chat so you can bring it up in game) Files with a *.vpk extension go into a folder called 'addons' (which you probably have to create) (i.e. common\portal 2\portal2\addons\*.vpk) If there are other files, then these are likely the source files that you can open and edit with the Hammer editor (see Steam Tools, where you can download Dedicated Server apps to find it). How to load the levels If there's a ReadMe file included with your downloads, it's best to read through them quickly, but the general procedure is as follows. Restart Portal 2 if it was already running (it checks for files when you start it). Go to Options and find the setting to enable the Console, and bind a key to show/hide it. I have it bound to my ` key (above the TAB key). For single player levels, at the main menu (or anywhere, really), press the 1 key to open the console, then type map NameOfLevel (i.e. map sp_interception) For Co-op levels, you must invite a friend and wait until you are in the lobby area before attempting to change level (you could probably load the level in single player, but you'd never be able to finish it). 1. Press the ` key to open the console 2. Start typing - the console will auto-suggest commands and level names as you type: changelevel [NameOfFile] - for example: changelevel mp_coop_duality The console will show a bunch of output, maybe even some errors, but if both players have the files, it *should* load the level without issue. On some occasions my friend was dumped back at the main menu, and I was told he disconnected - not sure what the go was there, but we had plenty of other levels to keep us busy. Feel free to discuss any good levels you find or arrange co-op sessions with other TDUCk members. Here's a level a friend and I did yesterday (it's not us playing - I just did a YouTube search): (Don't watch if you want to try this and doint want any spoilers) I will be trying some more out tonight (~11am BST) if anyone's interested.
  8. I wonder if anyone would notice if your name changed colour... say to red? :cheeky:
  9. Your photos are the closest thing to a reason I have for reinstalling and playing this game again - good work.
  10. You noticed I changed my signature image to a slightly lighter shade of blue? How very observant of you  :jk:
  11. Oh no, we already had one weirdo who kept banging on about clouds - we DON'T need another one  Yes TDU1 was better in many ways, esp with a few mods.
  12. He was forced to do it when he got his free pedal upgrade :cheeky:
  13. A change is as good as a holiday, but we've had this before, and the other one was more holidayish :) Personally I prefer the brighter colour scheme. The restructure is good though.
  14. We're all here because no-one else will have us
  15. Everyone has accidents, Softie. What I meant was that I've never seen those type of crashes anywhere else, especially with that consistency. The OSD on those videos clips looked similar too, maybe that's just one persons perspective. Or maybe his car was leaking oil :)
  16. I am utterly speechless (otherwise I'd come accross as racist for saying certain people can't drive or seem to have bad peripheral vision). All of a sudden I forgive all the Asians who've driven way too slowly around Melbourne, now that I've seen the results of them driving faster. *shakes head in disbelief*
  17. I only play with friends on weekends occasionally, but have played soccer, basketball, tennis, squash and baseball in the last year or so. Average at all of them :p
  18. So we're waiting for news that's already been repeated 50 times over the last 4 months???
  19. Never played them ;) Floaty + those SF roads (hills/intersections, etc) doesn't sound like an awesome combo
  20. Darn - I knew the handling would be arcade, but I was hoping for something more like MCLA than Crazy Taxi or Burnout Paradise. *hasn't tried it* I think I will get it regardless, but I'm not so sure about spending extra $$ for the bonuses.
  21. Would you believe that I still haven't tried out that and the other DLCs for DiRT 3 & Shift 2 despite getting it ages ago :fp:
  22. Either that or the owner optioned the Self Destruct Alarm feature.
