  1. Can't sign in to FlickR so Imgur will have to suffice for these: The guy (just about) visible in the bottom left of the first photo was flying model gliders around, but the glider was either out of shot or too small for my phone to pick up. Not a bad place to carry out your hobby :) Shame I seem to have died/been drunk and couldn't pan a phone around without skewing the horizon :p
  2. Absolutely sick of being 11+ seconds ahead of all of the opponents for the first 3rd of the longer races just for them to defy the laws of physics and gain those 11 seconds after I take a few tight turns without drama. Doing the Amarillo race south of Miami just now and an 8C cruises past me on a straight piece of road while I'm doing 200MPH+ about 12 checkpoints in and then carries on doing 150MPH+ through some tight S-bends like it is on rails. I was all in favour of recommending the game (I've been enjoying it until now, even glancing over small bugs) to anyone who might ask about it, but until crap like that is fixed I'll tell people to look elsewhere.
  3. OH MY GOD. How have I only just noticed how long it takes the game to change gear? Can't assign my clutch pedal in controls for some reason, but using H-gate and auto-clutch. Changing down to get more power and I swear you lose 2 seconds just because the guy can work out how to move a gear lever as quickly as you. Plz fix.
  4. Well the postwoman finally delivered the game today (was meant to show up Tuesday) and I've been on the game for a few hours. I don't mind the vehicle handling personally, as has been discussed the race with the RUFs was slightly frustrating, but I managed to get gold on that second try. First part of the race I was wondering what everyone was talking about, seemed a bit twitchy, but nothing that a dab of oppo couldn't sort, then when going over the bumps towards the end all hell broke lose on both occasions despite me taking it a bit gentler second time around. Overall, I rightly or wrongly get a TDU vibe from the handling, I wasn't expecting anything like a sim-racer so I'm happy in that respect. Picked the Dodge to start with because that is what I chose in the Beta, even modded it the same way, but changed the paint colour. Runs well on my PC; i5 2500k, 8GB RAM and HD 7970 maxing everything and I'm sure it'd push more than 60FPS if the limiter was removed. I think the most frustrating thing for me at the moment are the chases you take part in between police and so on. Getting chased, caught by and rammed to bits by some low-rider looking Chevy(?) trucks over corn fields at over 170MPH didn't seem quite right, especially when they boosted up to you in not time at all if you left them behind a bit, seemed a bit off when I was in a purpose built off-road Ford.
  5. My dad asked me to start his Z4 while he is away so I took the chance to make the most boring video known to man
  6. Postman no delivery the letter post today ( ;) ) so I guess I won't be playing this until at least tomorrow. Ah well, could do with getting a few things done today so I can play the game for 10 hours straight once it arrives.
  7. Ahh, it's all in lower-case. Should bring up my profile which uses a different display name with a load of stuff about Norway :p
  8. I should receive my disc copy in the next couple of days. As always, my username is GTAMADDOG on both Steam and uPlay. Hoping this will rekindle some of the old Test Drive Unlimited (1) vibes :)
  9. At a guess I think they are sold on/used to help off-road racer/buggy projects instead of using the usual Land Rover V8 offerings. A quick conversation revealed just the one guy had bought all of the cars and could sell the engines on for a pretty penny before thinking about selling the rest of the vehicle. The same guy also has a super-charged 2005 Mustang and 1996 Camaro SS sat around doing nothing, the Mustang is safe and is up for sale as it is one of a limited run, but I think the Camaro is destined for the same fate as the Vauxhalls.
  10. Cracked out a Led Zeppelin CD to listen to in the car..
  11. Came across a graveyard for Vauxhall/Holden V8s.. http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x104/GTAMADDOG/photo1_zpsb9d88515.jpg http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x104/GTAMADDOG/photo2_zps807e46f4.jpg http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x104/GTAMADDOG/photo3_zpsd851df84.jpg Mainly bought and butchered for their engines. Most of them still had quite tidy (looked low mileage) interiors on them, there are about 10 more not in the pictures in varying states.
  12. Windir is one of my favourite discoveries in the last year, unfortunately almost fifteen years too late. The vocalist died early in 2004, but the last two albums (this song in particular) would make you wonder if he knew his fate before it happened. Would only recommend listening to 2:58 onwards which is a really nice infusion of metal and electronic music, only listen to the earlier part of the song if you're in to Metal/Black Metal or very open minded. Tried making the video start at 2:58, but it doesn't seem to work when embedded.
  13. The Pillars of Creation in the Eagle Nebula are probably my favourite area of space currently (have been for a while). There is a tower of gas in the Eagle Nebula which is 9.5 light years long, it just boggles my mind when I try and comprehend the size of that. I'm firmly in the camp that there must be something/someone else out there somewhere when you take in to account that the Eagle Nebula is one (extremely) tiny part of the universe in the scheme of things. That 'something' might be so far away that we'll never see it, but it's out there.
  14. First thing I thought of when I saw the back of that S65 was "Renault Laguna Coupe" :gmc:
  15. I'm not really a sun seeker so.. 1. Norway 2. Sweden 3. Finland 4. Canada 5. Iceland 6. Faroe Islands 7. Switzerland 8. U.S.A. (More mountainous areas) 9. Ukraine (Would love to do one of the Chernobyl/Pripyat excursions) 10. Australia 11. Svalbard (Comes under Norway, but absolutely miles from it) 12. Russia I love a cooler, yet scenic environment :p Top three are close to becoming a reality.
  16. Won't post my own photo because I did that before, but I got another two of these fitted to the front of the car yesterday so it now has a full matching set: http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x104/GTAMADDOG/EagleF1_tcm2077-111645_zps1b131260.png One of the old tyres had worn on both outer edges and had several chunks out of the rim protection and the other one had loads of tread left, but looked like it wasn't wide enough for the wheel and seemed to be stretched. Probably would've got a fine/points for one or both tyres if I had ever been stopped by the police so they had to go quickly after the rear tyres. Next up, Hunter Wheel Alignment to make sure the outer edges don't wear off on the new tyres.
  17. Love the interior on the 159. It was a contender when I was looking for a new car, certainly in Ti spec. Love the exterior obviously as well, but the interior is fantastic in my opinion. Unfortunately my head and heart are about even when it comes to decision making so I ended up with a cheaper BMW :p
  18. Conveniently due on PC on the day I think my car is due an MOT. Maybe a day off is in order..
  19. A couple of the BMW. Haven't taken any photos of it other than it being on the driveway until now, still not as good as the city backdrops in the photos above. Lovely stone-chipped front bumper and dirt in the rear tail lights from water getting in to them. New tail lights and bulb holders coming this week. Also bought a storage tray to go where the ash tray should be (missing), and a first aid kit (missing).
  20. My grandfather has been quite ill the last few days and got admitted to hospital early yesterday morning (about 1am). Turns out he had got pneumonia like last time, but this time it was a lot worse. The sickening thing was the hospital prepared my nan/dad etc. for the worst saying there was nothing they could do and they were basically just letting him die, the consultant showed up and went completely mad at the hospital staff and got things moving along. His condition improved a bit over the day and he got moved to the ward where he was last time before he was allowed to go home. I went to see him along with my sister at 6:30PM yesterday and although he was sleeping, he looked a lot better. Go in to see how our nan is on the way home and she hasn't slept since Saturday night and is quite confused. Get home and go in the shower, come out of the shower and my dad says he's just had the phone call to say he's passed away. Thanks for holding out so I could see you, I'll miss you old pal. Rest in peace.
  21. I was able to play this briefly this morning before I went to work, trying to play it this evening seems to be completely impossible though. Five minutes of the game doing next to nothing after I "Press Any Button to Play", then another five minutes of seemingly nothing after that and then the game crashes to desktop if I'm lucky, or continues to sit there doing nothing. Not sure what has happened since this morning, but it's kind of annoying as I now actually have time to try it out. Guessing it is just high server load or something.
  22. Managed to get to the Epynt Ranges for the Mewla Rally today and managed to get a few decent shots. First time using the camera since the last rally I went to which was February. [/url]
  23. Also bought the Movingshadow 01.1 mix CD from Amazon so I could listen to the two GTA songs above in my car, rest of the mix is pretty good as well.
