1. Massive Bump! I've been and seen a fair bit since I lost posted here. So my highlights from 2018 are... Porsche 911 GT2 RS (991) - Seen in Aberdeen, 2018 This is one of 2 that I know are local to the Aberdeen area. The other is a red one which regularly gets used at trackdays! 9Still to get a good photo of it!) Bugatti Veyron WRC - Seen in Aberdeen, 2018 This one rarely comes out! Seen it twice in 3 years! McLaren Senna - Seen at Knockhill Racing Circuit, 2018 This one is kinda cheating, since McLaren Glasgow had a stall at Knockhill. Behind it you can see a 600LT as well. A favorite spot of mine from last year is this duo... DBS drop top and pre-facelift Rapid! Owners of both were more than happy to chat and show me about the cars. I did spend a good bit of time in Washington & Oregon states of the US last year, this being a personal favorite of mine... Place down the road from our accommodation when I was over in October! Mix of mostly older, but that Caddy XLR!
2. Dark theme for me, but that's probably because I'm used to the dark theme here!
3. The Morris Minor is consider THE 50's car of Britain, everyone over a certain age seems to have had one of have good memory's of one. I used it every opportunity I could last summer, nipping to the ships? Excuse to drive. Local car show? Excuse for a drive - With Nick1999's A6, I don't doubt its highly modded and i bet its a rocket on the roads! Where I am chipping and modding anything German is all the rage. Silly power can be gained from just plugging in a laptop, let alone throwing parts at it. Ages doesn't play much of a part in it either...One friend is running a highly modded B7 RS4 with no problems, yet another has a Mk1 Fabia VRS and yet its problem after problem.
4. Last Summer I got.... A "57 Morris Minor. Its a running resto, barrels a barrel of laughs and no matter where you go it gets smiles, waves and randoms coming up for a chat about it. Also my first post here in a long time. :)
5. I've been part of the E36 clan since August 2016. My 316i, full base spec. ;) 1.6 4-pot, 100hp(When new) 5-Spd manual, cloth seats, un-painted bumpers from factory and in Arctic White. A slow resto project, but been to a few local classic shows with me last year.
6. Only remembered the other week that the Porsche 935 'Moby D' was added as DLC... Honestly love them.
7. Not mine but... Another E36 has ended up in my life. I've been doing a fair bit of maintenance on it as well as letting it sin in my drive. Its a 320i, auto. It cost the owner, an ex-member here (Well, not been on in yonks) the best part of...well nothing. And it had MOT, which the worst thing it failed on was the rear shock abosrbers being excessively worn. Not bad! I do have to say, I really do like the E36 chassis. The 316 is a great thing, and having 6-pot power just makes it even better! The auto-box doesn't even hamper it as we expected! Whod have though I'd be saying that... ;)
8. I saw the 2018 TVR Griffith at the NEC 2 weeks ago... After 10 years of the brand being in automotive purgatory, it was as if i'd seen the resurrection of Christ when I saw it in person. I genuinely held back a tear. Its bloody fantastic. Of course, the NEC Classic motor show is packed with all sorts, from Muiras to Metros. Im sure I've spammed plenty of photos over the years from the event, its always worth the yearly 900 mile round pilgrimage for it!
9. Its miles better than the first two Fast & Furious films. I went in with low expectations and came out much, much better than expected. Talking of, that takes us back on topic...Fast & Furious films should have ended at number 5. Why? The ending was perfect to end them all there... Does this need a spoiler tag? I mean there is another 3 follow up films and more incoming?
10. Is this happening this week? I’m up and reday if it is. :cheeky:
11. I woke up at 3pm...(Was up for 24 hours and went to bed at 5am, don't judge) Sadly I wont be able to make next week, down in Birmingham for the NEC classic car show the whole weekend. :/
12. Tomorrow? I can manage that, and I've got live again! :D Be good to race y'all again.
13. I'll be honest and say I'm being lazy and not reading 5 pages worth, so sorry if some of this has been picked up on before... Is it worse then previous Forzas? It's a mixed bag for me. Cons: THAT day one "update", AKA Disc 2- This essentially locked the game down for me until the other day. Having no internet set up at my house meant I could't update. And When I used my parents internet to try download it it took forever, they don't have the best of internet speeds, I gave up after it got two 20%. Seeing comments on T10's Facebook its easy to see how this is a massive problem for people in other country's where internet speeds arnt up to stupidly fast speeds. I got internet at my house finally, and it downloaded the remaining 80% in 10 minuets. Fiber is fast. The H word, Homologation -One thing everyone loves about Forza? Having a basic Class System based on a 1- 1000 scale, so you could have a V12 Swapped Mk2 Ford Mustang with 1500Hp racing with a LMP1 car and a Ferrari. Now i can see the basic idea of it and in single player it's okay, but the system in Forza Horizon 3 worked well too better. Menu Madness - Lets be honest, its an absolute cluster fudge. Car(d) Collecting - Another thing what everyone loved with Forza was the fact no cars were locked, as long as you had the cash it's yours. Your now essentially told "You want that? Nah you've not gotten enough cars to get it m8". Annoying as I wanted to get a Porsche 928 quickly. (Which I could't even if i could, as it was in the day one 'update' I needed to download) And while on the topic of cars, alot of cars that show up in the free race selection of cars you can't actually buy. I understand thet alot of them will no doubt come up in the special car section from time to time. Annoyed as I want to buy & mod a 2013 Dodge Dart. Yes im honest on that. Pros: It looks nicer than before: Maybe its the fact I've a newer, bigger TV, but it looks nicer and shiner than 6 & Horizon 3. Cars actually handle: I've always found the cars in past Forzas to be too drift happy, in a very unrealistic way. "Driving along at 30mph and turn right in a clam manner? That can't be time to DRIFFFFTTTTO!". I've never had that happen to me in real life, no or off a track! So to finally be able to drive the cars and have them handle in a way that seems real makes me actually play it more. Above all, it brings back one of the greatest cars ever to grace Forza.... OMNI's BACK
14. I'll have to get Live, but as always i'd be game. :) Sadly I doubt i'd be able to attend the first race though as im an Abarth Club meet down south on the same day.
15. Got a 'Workshop banner' to liven up the garage... As well as that, I finally got a cheappo radio to put in there as well.
16. Fallout & Skyrim do it for me, some of the lore is creep as! Proper pause the game, have a quick walk round the room and start again kinda thing. Especially the massive spiders in Skyrim, as soon as I get the hint I'm about to encounter them I back off... I guess this counts, but parts in the Yakuza games, more the brutality of some of the cut scenes. You know, because in based in the Japanese crime world you can guess its rather violent & gruesome at times. Worst still, since the whole game is in Japanese (with English subtitles), looking away means you can miss important parts of the story... agh.
17. Nice one Destroyer! :D That sort of thing is right up my street! - A few weeks ago I spent a few days on the Isle of Skye, needed time away from it all and its the perfect place, just me, the Abarth and open(twisty) road. Having been there many times as a child, it was great to actually drive there myself. :)
18. 2 weeks ago I was out for a few drinks with and a few others, we herd a loud noise outside that founded very angry and fruity, with us having finished our drinks we decided to have a look on the way to the next pub... Guys had just parked it there with the LED's left on. It deserves an award for "Worse numberplate placement". And I blame Stella for the pose...
19. Having been 'mothballed' back in December, I finally got the old girl back... Connected the battery, let it sit for 5 minuets then fired her up. Not bad considering it's sat in a barn for 9 months. (I can sell it as a barn find?). Treated he to a full tank of Shell V-Power and been fine, but she'll be playing second fiddle to the Abarth. Forgot how much I loved it's smooth ride and V8 burble. On another note, this is the first year since 2011 that I've not bought a car! :O
20. :bump: So having had a quick look at the car list so far, I see no signs of Lexus. Shame, liked my RC-F in the past few games and quite wanted a track prepped LC500.
21. I saw Cars 2 in the weekend, actually much better than I was expecting. Alot of proper car jokes and references hidden in it ('British Wheeland' branded engine parts at one point, loved that) and alot of branded cars, P38 Range Rovers with the branding for example, as well as Fiats. Now to find an excuse to wait until the 3rd one is out on DVD...
22. I've now a base of operations for storing/working 'The Fleet'... I've also been working on selling a few of the cars, and plans on the next buy! (Sadly, a little while away)
23. I'm now a home owner. :D Two bedroom semi-bungalow, with the most important factor being it has a driveway big enough for 3 cars, as well as garage with mains power! I'm sorted. It is very dated inside though, to the point you could film period 70's & 80's TV show in it. As well as that, I've gotten all sorts of late from kitchen & bathroom stuff, towels, lamps, furniture, etc.
24. So i've been reading elsewhere that people have been prodding the files since the last car pack and found some rather interesting file names... if any of them do actually make it to the game, I will be fair chuffed! One car stands out more than the others for me! :D
