4. My flatmate was downloading a massive update on his PS4, downloading god knows what on the PC and watching random car youtubers. I think this explains why my internet was rubbish. Looks like you guys had fun though, and hopefully I'll make it to the next event! :D
5. My internet has decided to work at dial-up speeds, taking ages to load up even the likes of google... Typical... :/

Das Shed.

Been a little while since I've posted here, I know how much you guys wait in anticipation and all... Since the last post, gotten alot of the big job's ticked off the list meaning she is much much better to drive, including: - Front brakes, new disc's and pad's were fitted adding some much needed bite. - Felt something was amiss with the front suspension when driving, figured out the problem in a rather odd way...I pushed the front of the off-side front wheel and the whole wheel moved back arbout an intch! Instantly knew it was one of two things, front wishbone bush's were exceedingly worn as you'd expect from a car of this age. New ones acquired and fitted. - Me™ managed to get some wheel trim's off an E36 Compact that were in much better condition that the original ones with the car! New shoes. by C C, on Flickr - I got a copy of the 3 series saloon sales brochure from 1995! Bit pointless but feel it add's to the history of the car. :) - Had the MOT at the start of the month, as expected failed thanks to the exhaust. Although we fitted a new rear section/backbox, the flange fitting for the two sections was wrong, meaning we used a U-Clamp, exhaust tape and some industrial spec exhaust sealant to secure and seal it... That'll fix it... by C C, on Flickr Top job as you can see, the result of "Cant be bothered". That worked a tiny bit, but was still blowing, causing it to have weak readings and set of a sensor...failing on emissions. As well as failing on that, the rear brake's had some corroded pipes. (Personally think that was a 50/50 case of it being an advisory or fail) Was given a quote for work to fix it and decided to bite the bullet and get the work done. The good news is the brakes have been bled as a result, and feel 10 times better, and the damm blowing from the exhaust has gone. :D Not bad for a car that's 2 months away from being 22! Next year is where the fun begins, when the show season starts! At the start of the 'season' she'll be getting a proper wash & detail by a friend of ours. Different from his normal clients cars of Audi RS's, Range Rovers, GTR's and the like which is why he'll be doing it for a massively reduced cost to have as a sort of "I can turn this to this" sort of thing. Why is he offering this? Because we will be having the car on show at the local classic car events, having a bit of history about it, and how it's earned it's place at the shows. :)
13. Hope for the best, expect the mediocre. I used to be such a cheery chap when It came to games. If they can get the balance of a good sized map, nice choice of cars and handling that's somewhat okay then it'll be good.
14. Ah aye the Nooo lads All second hand: Argyle jacket, dress shoes, belt, sporron, sgian dubh(knife), bow tie and of course the kilt. (Shirt & socks already had) The tartan I will admit I have no family relation with... it's the colours of the regiment my dad was in when in the army so there is some connection with it in that respect. Left to buy are: - A formal shirt that actually fits me. (one in picture was just to wear the outfit, and too big) - A fake sgian dubh, because of the fact a real one could cause problems due to it being an actual knife. - A kilt pin, just a little show pin that go's on the kilt. - Cufflinks. My dad's letting me use a set of his old regimental ones, but tempted to get a set of Lexus ones because why not.
15. Duffus dip... The first corner's at Knockhill, a steep downhill corkscrew Al-La Laguna Seca. Then head's right into a right hander... And after that? it's another level of fun to be had! Try doing it for the first time, calculating how much you need to brake and how much braking you need to not slow too much but also stop yourself for the next corner! Keeping in mind that the corkscrew is at the end of the second fastest part of the track! In Short, the fact Knockhill is a short track, coupled with the fact theirs a big elevation change from the highest to lowest point...it's a challenge to drive, but massive fun to watch!
16. :bump: Back from August this year, when I managed to get sub 15's from the Lexus on the 1/4 mile! I'd done some weight saving compared to the times i'd been before, which included: - Running on 1/4 of a tank rather than a full tank (Keep in mind it's a 85 Liter tank!) - Having the boot only 1/4 filled. Normally have everything from a toot kit, oil, fully 20 Ltr Jerry can, random junk...everything bar the kitchen sink really. (Its a big boot remember) - No spare tyre. It's a full sized alloy. It was done running on normal UK spec RON95, in the dry, but the strip is an old WW2 airfield and the surfice is't the best for grip. Next time will be running on super unleaded, running ON the red on the fuel tank, (With the 20 Ltr Jerry can at hand, just not in the car), the boot fully empty and even going as far as using masking tape to help the aero. Even joked about letting a friend of mine drive it as he's a good 4 stone lighter than me! For a 2 tonne 90's luxury saloon car, im impressed!
17. For a car thats designed to be thrashed, the fact you got that many miles & years out the original rears is good! (Get the feeling the fronts would have been the same if not replaced!) Shows how good Toyota were back in the day! With BC being a trusted make so should be no problems! Going by the photo they are not just height adjustable, but also dampening as well? Loved that feature on my Civic's set (MeisterR's), keep on a soft setting for most of the time then when up for a nice bit of spirited driving in the weekend, set it a bit stiffer. Found it did actually make a difference. :D Can't wait to see the updates!
18. Great to see you've still got the old girl! Guessing she's running as strong as ever, being a 90's Toyota and all! :D The new exhaust does sound nice, when i see the size of it I was expecting it to be a bit trashy sounding but sounds spot on! But she's no 1-UZ... ;) With the BC coilovers, what spring rate is it? Always hear good things with BC's, and a high chance i'll be getting stuff r from them 'soon'. Guessing it's replacing the original unit's going by the estimated mileage on it?
19. MattFarah is the guy with the Million Mile LS400 if I'm correct? Which Is why I'm a little disappointed there is no LS400... The Crown Vic will do fine though, being a big RWD, V8 powered saloon! Happy to see the 340R love though! :D As with the Jeep, a proper off-road/beach legend from America. The rest admittedly aren't really up my street. The rest are kinda just there for me,
20. Was a fantastic season as always! The fact we had 8 drivers at the start of the day with a chance of winning the championship was just crazy! Respect all the drivers and don't normally mind who wins as long as it's a good race, but was rooting for Tordoff on the last race if im honest, but sadly it seemed he had no fight in him! Great to see Flash do a Back2Back championship though! Roll on 2017!
21. Change of plans for me im afraid, meeting a friend for lunch tomorrow afternoon so won't be on.. :( If anyone is on later in the day and wants to play about, i'd be game.
22. @Ryzza: I'd been told that Foster's was't a thing, though it was maybe regional. Overhear they play the whole "Down under" thing to death in there advertising. Also, the Simpsons never helped... Could't resist. Now excuse me, i'm going to finish eating my neep's & tatties, take a few swigs of something strong made in the glens from my hipflask then don my kilt & go haggis hunting...
23. It's a Saturday, so should be free, or at least make time for it! :) Guessing this is for xBone users? I'll get into the mood and put a of keg of Fosters in the back of the '74 Sandman and throw another shrimp on the 'barbie for everyone... Sorry, could't resist some over stereotyping of the land down under.
