  1. Fix the handling! Please! The handling from TDU1 was never, ever boring, no matter how long I played. Why not use the same handling model? And SOUNDS! Please fix the sounds! Some of them are good, the Zonda, Bugatti, and Audi S5 come to mind. But some are simply trash and need addressed.
  2. Looks like TDU2 may turn out to by a good game after all. We are just going to have to wait until they do a couple dozen updates to get everything right lol.
  3. Only race your friends when the cops aren't around. Remember, not all cop cars have lights on the top ;)
  4. I actually see many good points in his article.
  5. Lol that is a sad excuse for a pick-up. Once you get to America, you'll understand ;)
  6. Spy Shots: BMW flings M3 pickup around the 'Ring by Zach Bowman (RSS feed) on Mar 15th 2011 at 2:07PM BMW M3 pickup spy shots - Click above for high-res image gallery There aren't words to convey just how happy this makes us. With Spring officially licking at the sanctified asphalt of the Nürburgring, testing season has kicked into high gear. Our elite squad of spy photographers has set up camp to take in the action and happened to catch this bizarre beastie obliterating its tires amongst a herd of other BMW mules. As you might expect, there's exactly zero information on the machine other than it looks for all the world to be an M3 pickup. Trust us when we say that we're going to sleep more soundly tonight knowing that somewhere in the world, this creation exists. We have no idea what the BMW engineers are up to with this one, though we love the idea of an M3-powered spiritual successor to the El Camino throne (bonus points for the camouflage as racing stripes motif, too). Assumed to have the same 4.0-liter V8 found in the nose of the current M3, this beast should be be good for 414 horsepower – perfect for making lickety-split runs to the hardware store. We'd sell a passel of vital organs for a little seat time in this thing, even if it does simply turn out to be an early April Fool's joke. The shots are real, so perhaps BMW's design team are just blowing off some steam, or readying a one-off for Europe's tuner extravaganza of choice, the Essen Motor Show?
  7. I simply do not understand how this much fail is possible. It almost makes Turn 10 look good...
  8. In terms of the game save, I backed up from the beginning. I am thankful for my Euro friends who got the game early and were able to discover the corruption problem before my game was delivered :P In terms of the problems I have noticed, simply take t.'s post, and insert it [here]. There you have it.
  9. Sad Birthday! I hope your day is terrible xD
  10. -Physics The physics themsevles aren't horrific, just could be better with some minor tweeks. The lack of counter-steer is my main problem. Once you lose control, don't even bother trying to get it back. The other problem I have is the sense of speed. You don't really get the feel that you are going fast until you're at about 130mph. Other than that, the driving itself isn't really that bad. -Connectivity The game would be infinitely more fun if I could connect to my friends. But alas, I cannot. Nor can anyone else for that matter. When you finally manage to make it into the same server, you are booted out within 5-10 minutes. Half the fun I had in TDU1 was just being in the same server with my friends, sometimes not even driving. -Damage Nice feature, bad execution. I could spend days counting the number of times I have been rammed by a Veyron... and still not have finished. The fix for this is extremely simple really. The pausing system for TDU1 was excellent in that, in addition to becoming transparent, your vehicle also stopped in its tracks. Now, when you push pause attemmpting to avoid being rammed, you easily avoid the ramming, but coast into the closest obstruction, which causes just as much damage to your vehicle as a ramming would. Fix the pausing system... problem sloved. -Car list It's respectible to an extent, but gets boring easily. There are many cars on there that I quite enjoy. But many are lacking that, not only I would like, but the entire community would appreciate. Lamborghini, Corvette, and Maserati, just to name a few. The DLC will be quite good I expect, but I feel like we shouldn't have to pay for the most basic cars found in most racing games. That being said, with Atari's financial situation, I can understand why we must. -General The game in general is quite good, but not four-years-in-development-good. tWm said it best: Had this game come out in 2008, it would be fantastic and highly impressive. It is now 2011, far too long from the original TDU1 for us to be impressed with the final product that we were given. It can be fixed, however. Some minor changes could be all it takes to improve the gaming experience dramatically.
  11. Well obviously the Aventador LP700 stole the show. Other than that, I can really see nothing extremely desirable for my tastes. Autoblog says that the new Gumpert model looks better than the Apollo, I beg to differ.
  12. 7/10 After a first impression with the game, I was quite disappointed with it. However, after getting acclimated to the physics and playing it for a bit, I have come to enjoy it more. For starters, the storyline is both hilarious and painful to watch. It looks as though they sat around until about mid-January of this year and thought, "Crap! We forgot the storyline!". None of it really makes any sense and I feel like it is all trying too hard. The narration is pitiful and completely wrong half the time. "What drama! The Wilder brothers are squabbling with Stuart again!" comes to mind. But my favorite is when you are in a race all alone, such as a time challenge, and the narration says something like, "All of your favorite racers are here! Stuart! The Wilder brothers!" Yet when you look around, none of them are actually there lol. The physics are hilarious at first. Apparently all cars come with an extreme ABS system, and counter-steer is all but absent. Once you get used to it, the cars are generally easy to drive. However, if you lose control of the vehicle, it's basically game over. There is no saving it. Cars? Most of them seem to be modeled well. I can at least tell what models they are supposed to be representing. A few are a bit off, the Ferrari Enzo and Mustang GT come to mind. The Mustang actually looks to be the worst of the bunch. Come on Atari, a GT Mustang with a single exhaust pipe, V6 package wheels, and the wrong turn signals? You can do better than that. The races are just as easy to win as in the first one. Just get around the AI at the beginning and you should have no problem staying ahead. It doesn't really even matter what car you are using for each class, all of them will beat the AI just as easily as the others. Money isn't really an issue either. The races themselves are are pitiful when it comes to prize money, but the championships are excellent. The only problem I find is that they never give you enough money for the "buy all cars" achievement as many of the cars on this game are quite expensive. Overall, it is a pretty nice game I suppose. However, if it had come out in 2008 or 2009, it would have seemed even better. The game is certainly good, but not as good as it should have been after four years of development. Thank being said, I would love to know why Adam doesn't seem to have a last name...
  13. Bear in mind that the cars listed are the ones I used to beat the championships, therefore, may or may not be the best in class. B4 - Range Rover Sport HSE B3 - Spyker Peking-To-Paris C4 - Lancia Delta C3 - Ferrari 308 Quattrovalvole A7 - Alfa Brera A6 - Camaro 1LT (Probably not the best, but I used it and won all of the challenges easily) A5 - Audi S5 (Seriously pisses on everything else in it's class) A4 - Camaro SS (Again probably not the best, but I won all of the challenges easily with it) A3 - Alfa Romeo 8C coupe A2 - Zonda C12S Roadster (I actually prefer driving the SLS AMG but the Zonda seems to be faster) A1 - Bugatti Veyron Centinairre (spell check) (Spits on everything else in the game)
  14. My car everyone thinks is best? My Bugatti Veyron Centenaire (spell check) My favorite? Either the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG or the Audi S5/
  15. The loss of the 458 itself doesn't bother me a great deal. Sure, it's a great car. But there are still many great cars in the game. What bothers me is what bothers most people. Why they waited this long to tell us that the car is not in the game is beyond me and rather disturbing. If this is the kind of community outreach we can expect from Atari throughout TDU2, then I am not very excited lol.
  16. There are members of this forum who are already playing TDU2, if that answers your question lol.
  17. I would do this, then buy a ZR1. But wait, I'm not European...
  18. At the glacial pace his is progressing through the game, I would say that noob is a very fitting term lol.
  19. You mean to tell me that cars with great acceleration are good in turns, while cars with great top speed are good on long straights? Gasp! Thank you for the landmark information Destra...
  20. If you think you can do it better, go do it yourself. Otherwise, shut up.
