  1. I'm glad this video has happened, simply because It's been a debate i've had with myself and with others on here a few times, is it worth spending all that money and not getting the most extreme version and have the most bragging rights just because I hate that rear spoiler on the V10 Plus? :hmmm: I still can't decide. A fair few commenters on the video have said the same thing.

Totally not worth the extra money. There's a circa €20 grand difference in base price between them, 10 grand if you load the base version up with ceramics and other stuff.

The AMG S versions are probably worth it since they get extra things like active diffs and engine mounts, "drift mode", bigger brakes, etc., but iirc the R8 plus just has a bit more power, ceramics and that wing as standard.

  2. Fixed.

    It's a sexy boat.

I still mourn the day designers decided retractable screens should no longer be in cars. Even Audi are slowly getting rid of theirs, I hope some cars still have them though.

This interior would look amazing with the 4 A/C vents higher, and the leather all over the dashboard, and a little thing for where the screen comes out of. Instead the interior is 90% screen and it loses all its class because of it.

100% agreed. I hate the new trend of TV-sized screens. Give me back analog gauges and retractable nav displays... I guess LCDs are cheaper to make than some proper instrument cluster with a nice display in between the two dials.

Why no E63 coupé? I think it'd sell quite well.

I haven't read about the car yet, but I think the E 50 will be what the C 43 is now, basically. A half-AMG if you will. They'd be crazy not to make a 63 version.

  3. Holy batman, dat wheel gap in the first photo. :fp:

I have to say it looks better than the C, but still worse than the S. That thing is a beauty.

Hope that the 63er will be given wider fenders as the AMG C looks so much better than the stock models.

And I am disappointed there are no new inline sixes in the car... What's taking them so long?

  4. The Porsche is lacking something for me, I think it's exclusivity? Yes, it was only a limited production run but it's very similar looking to every other Porsche 911 model, which sell very well. There's just something about the R which makes me not love it.

I know it's the best car of the year, but It wouldn't be where my money went.

It's easy to love/dismiss a car without having any real-life personal interaction with it. One reason I don't really care much about car reviews anymore. It's all more or less subjective.

Out of all new 2016 cars I've driven only the BMW M2.

I am sure I would not be disappointed driving the R, and the fact that it looks kind of anonymous is imho part of its charm.

Close second would be the manual V12 Vantage S.

  5. Test Drive brand acquired by Bigben Interactive - VideoGamer.com

New Test Drive Unlimited games in the works, rights now belong to Bigben... :: Team VVV

The Test Drive brand is to return after Bigben acquired the rights from the Atari Group.

Bigben has also announced its plan to develop new titles in the Test Drive Unlimited franchise.

Atari has retained the rights to sell all previously release games in the Test Drive franchise.

"We are more than confident with respect to the quality of this franchise, which is loved by so many players," stated Alain Falc, CEO of Bigben Interactive. "Our teams are very enthusiastic at the idea of being able to work on this license, which has already proven its worth - the game Test Drive Unlimited 2 sold 1.8 million units."

Bigben adds Test Drive to its IP catalogue, which also includes WRC and TT Isle of Man.

  6. On another note: I have totally forgotten that there was a recall in 2014 on all six-cylinder petrol BMWs due to Vanos bolts that can snap into half and damage the engine. I still have not done anything about it. :ohno:

  7. I've got the sunroof blind closed most of the time because of summer, although coming back to a dark interior it could be decent for the colder months.

You'll learn to love it. One car has a panoramic moonroof and the other just a small moonroof. With the panoramic, I use the tilt function with the sunshade 90% closed, I find it useful when it's hot outside, and in the hot late afternoons/ evenings I fully open the moonroof and it's just purrfect... up to 100 kph. Beyond that it makes too much noise so it stays closed, but that depends on the car and the design of the system.

The smaller one in the other car, there's virtually no difference between open and closed sunshade.

Yeah, it adds weight in the worst place possible, but on most cars it's worth the extra natural light in the cabin.

DCT is very jerky when downshifting/stopping, especially in sport mode. Never had that with my Golf or any other DCT.

Interesting. VW AG use a billion types of DSGs, but I think both the old Golf and your new A3 have 7-speed "dry-clutch" transmission which in start-stop traffic, compared to "wet" 6-speeds, can be quite jerky according to the Internet. Might be worth checking the software version on yours.

And dude, nothing can block a 36~38ºC heat.

    I did not say that.

  8. Beige leather doesn't get too hot in the summer, it just makes your back and things kinda sweaty, but I don't really like how right now during winter the seats are coooold in the two three minutes while the seat heaters are just starting to heat up the seats. Remote pre-heater would be nice, though having an enclosed garage helps, too.

Window tint is a must, in my opinion. Could not live without them dark tint. 1) better looks, 2) lower temps, 3) privacy. I am not sure what % we have on our cars.

I think 3M does make a clear version that still blocks UV and heat.
