    Our bikes

These are the only type of motorbikes that appeal to me, I love Old Norton's etc. Great Bikes! :D
  2. Yep no worries, the thing is Tassie has a pretty rockin' car club scene, where we pretty much just trade parts. I payed $110 for the battery Wheels were free (tyres included) Seats I havn't bought yet, but I would think around $300-400 for a pair of good racing seats. I am looking at a drivers side mirror which I would get for free. A badge for the front for free. Im getting some welding done on the right strut which would be around 200 I would think so. To keep it running is pretty easy, just basic stuff like changing the oil, spark plugs etc just all those little things. The thing is when you buy a old car (espeacially european) parts are a struggle to get, so if you have some friends that have the roughly the same car you can trade parts etc. Im guessing your thinking of getting something like this? If you are I would join a club or something, meet some people because you will be surprised how generous people are because all they won't is to see another classic car come back to life. thanks
  3. Yeah it runs really well, I replaced the battery so now it's starting first time every time. AS far as engine plans go, ill pretty keen just to keep it standard for now, no major changes. I'lll get the most important stuff done first then get stuck into the engine bay, maybe with some extractors or something along those lines. Depending on how it is going I might get a paint job, we'll see how it goes. Thanks!
  4. Hey guys, so I bought my first car the other day and thought I would share it with you guys. It's a 1974 Fiat 128 Sport coupe, the previous owner dropped a 1.5 Ragata engine and a 5 speed gearbox in it. Cost me $850AUD I have some wheels on the way, planning on new racing seats, getting rid of the the very small amount of rust. Please feel free to comment/give me some advice on where to go. Since the photo's I have given it a solid wash and polished her up, it's looking very nice. http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z315/Chocowilliams/IMG_4484.jpg http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z315/Chocowilliams/IMG_4479.jpg http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z315/Chocowilliams/IMG_4485_edited-1.jpg http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z315/Chocowilliams/IMG_4473.jpg
  5. http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z315/Chocowilliams/9708.jpg Holden JWF. I was driven by a close family friend in a bright yellow one round a track and got up to 170kmph on a street, both times I was around 5 or 6 years old. ever since then I have been in love with cars going fast and engines etc. Cheers
  6. Eric Bana is king, he is such a nice guy. I highly recommend his movie, if you get the chance to see it do. It's amazing. Even better for me because I live in Tasmania (where the Targa Tasmania is held).
  7. you my friend are correct. this looks stupid, it has no soul like the older ones. silly silly bmw
  8. I must agree with you there, I mean they are a great car, practical etc. But there are just way to many on our roads. And I must say it is in my opinion it is a bogan car.
  9. yeah it is interesting that a couple of minutes can change the way you look at things differently for the rest of your life..
  10. CORRECT! well done my friend haha
  11. Okay. "I thought the hurricane season was over!" hah + rep to anyone who can get it.

  17. I guess your right. ahh I dunno, there's too many choices!! ha There is a basic critera- manual, fairly quick, easy on the eye, 7,500$$ max and RWD preferably. yeah one of best things about those cars, there is no shortage of parts!!
  18. hey, thanks yeah that did help alot. It's good to hear from an aus who has been there. The only downside with commy's is the fuel consumption, but i'll look into them. Plus I'll probably end up a gum tree if I had that much power. If you hear of anything sutible then let me know. Ill get this weeks tarding post and have a good look! Thanks + rep

  23. What a great bike, Ducati's are awesome. I have a fetish for old bikes like nortons,Deus ex machina etc. There should be more bike threads!
  24. But surely by fixing them, spending time on them will develop my knowledge of cars etc? My dad was saying, that's all he did when he had his Chrylser Valiant, spent the whole time under the bonnet and he is glad he did do that because he has learnt so much.. I dunno ha, I still have awhile to decide.. Thanks for all your help
