  1. Built For [Console] Racers As with everything to do with a date set not too long in the future, that time does eventually arrive. For those who have been waiting for Assetto Corsa ever since it was revealed to be coming to PS4 and Xbox One that time is almost here. Even with the delays it is now merely days before AC gets released in Europe and console gamers can get their hands on what has been labelled an authentic racing simulator, gaining a following and reputation on PC for being one of the best currently available. And now the console (peasants) can join in too. To celebrate this, Kunos Simulazioni and 505 Games have put up a trailer titled 'Built for Racers' to showcase just what the game is offering. And there is no better way to describe it other than how Kunos do so themselves as “Built by racing enthusiasts, for racing enthusiasts”. Paired with a rousing soundtrack that would not be out-of-place in a Hollywood blockbuster where the earth is battling against yet another alien race, the trailer beautifully exhibits all manners of racing, shows rivals against one another on the track and highlights multiple examples of the physics engine at work. You shouldn’t fear however if you want a racing game for your console but worry that AC may be too hardcore, as the developers have included multiple ways for you to tailor the game to your inadequate ability of play. And yes you can play with a pad too, but of course a wheel is recommended for the ultimate experience. Assetto Corsa is FINALLY out for PS4 and Xbox One from August 26th in Europe and from August 30th for North America.
  2. It's Not You, It's Me - SMS Move On To Project CARS 2 This week we discuss the latest happenings with rivals Project CARS and Assetto Corsa, as well as news in the non-racing world with Life Is Strange and We Happy Few, and the latest UK charts! The Virtual Racing World As you probably already suspected with the lack of updates and new DLCs recently, Project CARS support appears to have come to a close. Slightly Mad Studios are now shifting their focus to the upcoming sequel, which certainly isn't a bad thing, however it leaves us feeling a little melancholy for the days of regular bug fixes and updates for pCARS. The end of support was confirmed on Twitter recently when a gamer inquired about future patches. However, in the world of Assetto Corsa things are looking up! In fact things are looking bright and shiny as Assetto Corsa has gone gold for Xbox One and PS4. Gone are the days of racing sim PC exclusivity, now even you console scum (kidding!) can join in on the fun! The official release dates are 26th of August for Europe, and 30th of August for North America. We look forward to seeing a new wave of players experience Assetto Corsa. Other Things Remember Life is Strange? Dontnod's episodic game following the story of a teenager who discovers she has the power to rewind time has won a BAFTA for best story, a Peabody Award, as well as over 75 Game of the Year awards. Now, Life is Strange is taking on another form. Legendary Digital Studios and Square Enix are collaborating to produce a Life is Strange digital series, as announced last week by Greg Siegel, Senior Vice President of Development and Production for Legendary Digital Studios. "Life is Strange is one of those rare properties that combines incredibly developed characters and storylines with deeply engaging gameplay. It lends itself perfectly to live-action imaginings. We couldn’t be more excited to partner with Square Enix, DONTNOD Entertainment and dj2 to bring the world of Arcadia Bay to life in an exciting new way." Greg Siegel You may have seen the chilling E3 trailer of We Happy Few earlier this year and now you can dive in to it's dark world. Set in an English city during the 1960s, We Happy Few tells the story of an escape from mandatory drug-induced happiness, meanwhile the cheerful folks around you do their best to stop you. We Happy Few is available now as a Steam Early Access title or on Xbox One as an Xbox Game Preview for £22.99. It's been on my wishlist since E3, and I'm dying to play it. UK Charts This week in the charts Lego Star Wars remains numero uno, while Rocket League climbs to #7 and GTA V rises from #4 to #3. Amazing to see GTA V still in the charts almost 3 years after it's initial release. Overwatch hangs in there, dropping from #3 to #5, however we don't expect it to disappear anytime soon. Let us know your thoughts on this week's news in the forum.
  3. Assetto Corsa "The Red Pack" DLC coming July 14th for PC and consoles later this year. Content 7 Cars (Three/Four shown so far) Maserati 250F (straight six & V12) Ferrari SF15-T Lamborghini Aventador SV 1 Track Red Bull Ring
  4. Ferrari 488 GT3 It's been a few days since there's been anything heard from the Assetto Corsa team, but now, one day before the pack release itself, the fifth car model of the nearly here 'Red Pack' has been revealed, and it is another Ferrari. Meaning a minimum of three prancing horses will be in amongst the seven Italian examples that will be included with the new DLC. With the addition of the 488 GT3, the already impressive variety of GT cars will be boosted even more and it is something Kunos themselves seem quite proud of. "Our GT2/GT3 grid will be one of the most complete in the genre and a step forward in providing the best GT experience ever!" The car which was brought in to replace the 458 - that is also represented in the game - has divided opinion just like it's predecessor. Some like it, others think the front looks 'unfinished' but there is always one thing you can be certain of with mid-engine road cars from Ferrari, and that is that they handle supremely well. And when they then take that road going model and turn it into a track runner, things in that area get even better. So that's two cars left to reveal of this pack and it is looking like we will learn what they are from the pack itself. Those five that have been given official exposure are the Ferrari 488 GT3, the historic Maserati 250F 6C, the F1 duo of the 2013 Ferrari F138 and the 2015 Ferrari SF15-T and last but not in anyway least, the Lamborghini Aventador SV. The 'Red Pack' is out tomorrow (July 14th) on Steam and available for the consoles later in the year. 5. Porsche Coming to Assetto Corsa More and more games are starting to pry Porsche away from the cold grip of EAs hands and the next game to do so will be Assetto Corsa, renowned for its incredible simulation. Two Porsche packs are expected before the end of the year across PC, Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 and it will be the first time that Porsche have been officially included in a simulation racing game for over 12 years. Judging by the video we can expect to see Porsches from all eras across from road going cars, to GT racing and the ultimate LMP machines that will again be showcased at this weekends upcoming Le Mans 24H. We'll keep you updated when we hear more about these upcoming packs.

  7. Assetto Corsa JDM DLC Another vehicle pack has dropped for Assetto Corsa (AC) and this time it is the turn of those from Japan. This new DLC offers some of the most favoured and admired models from the land of the rising sun and sees the debut of Mazda to the series. Featuring models from Toyota, Nissan and Mazda, the Japanese pack will make many JDM fans happy with the inclusion of idols such as the Supra MK IV, AE86 Trueno, RX-7, MX-5, GT-R R34 Skyline and the 370Z. With many of these being known for their fun handling, particularly the MX-5 and AE86 Trueno, AC's respected simulation physics should make piloting these cars in the game's many circuits a lot of fun and quite the challenge, but if nailed properly, will no doubt deliver one of the best virtual driving experiences around. With this being a pack full of Japanese machinery, it is of no surprise that the drift muppets (love you really guys!) are specially catered for, with Drift versions of the Supra and AE86. And don't worry if that's not your thing, as a number of the cars come in more than one guise and consist of either a tuned or track attack variant, along with the normal stock offering. In total there are 6 distinct cars with 12 possible versions: Mazda MX-5 2015 Mazda MX-5 CUP Mazda RX-7 Spirit R + tuned version Toyota Supra MK IV + time attack and Drift version Toyota AE86 Trueno + tuned and Drift version Nissan 370Z NISMO Nissan GT-R R34 Skyline V-Spec Available now, the Assetto Corsa Japanese pack is available on Steam for the reasonable price of €4.99 / £3.99 / $4.99. 10. Assetto Corsa Console Delay The wait for the console version of Assetto Corsa gets that bit longer as publisher 505 Games have announced that the title will now be out in June. Originally pencilled in for an April release, the new dates are now June 3rd for Europe and June 7th for North America. The publisher says the game has been delayed to give developers Kunos Simulazioni the extra time to get the Pledge (other polishes are available) out and "ensure the console release delivers the most polished experience for simulation racing fans". Not many will deny them that extra time if it means being able to fulfil the promise of the 60fps simulation-racer that they are craving, particularly when you consider they will be going up against PlayStation and Xbox stalwarts Forza and Gran Turismo, plus the new'ish kids looking to make a dent in the racing scene, Project CARS. 11. Kunos Simulazioni has released an interesting look-ahead into 2016, giving Assetto Corsa fans an idea of what to expect of the title in the coming year. 2016 will be a major year for Assetto Corsa as the title will be making its console debut next year. Once again, Kunos Simulazioni stressed that the console version will not run a simplified physics model. Assetto Corsa users can look forward to plenty of new content next year as Kunos Simulazioni plans to add no less than 42 new cars to Assetto Corsa. That includes the addition of Maserati as well as several new Audis, including the Audi R18 E-Tron, TT VLN 2014, TT CUP 2015, A1 S1, Sport quattro S1 E2 and TT 2015 models. Furthermore, fans of Japanese machinery will be pleased as well as Kunos is looking to add the Toyota Celica, Supra, AE86 and TS040 Hybrid, as well as the Nissan GT-R 34 Skyline and 350Z Nismo 2015. Also on the list are Mclaren’s 570LS and P1 GTR as well as the Praga R1R. In terms of tracks, Assetto Corsa users can look forward to a laser-scanned version of the Red Bull Ring as well as historic layouts of Silverstone and Monza. While most of this content will likely be released as paid DLC content, Kunos is also planning to kick off the year with some free bonus cars as players can look forward to getting their hands on the Corvette C7 Stingray 2015 and Ford Mustang 2015 early into 2016. For more information, check out the full article here.
  12. AC Real Driving Simulator PlayStation 4 and Xbox One players will be thrilled to hear that a release date for the console version of Assetto Corsa has been revealed, and that date is April 22nd, 2016. The acclaimed simulation racer developed by Italian developer Kunos Simulazioni will be published by 505 Games for the console and will bring what many console players have been aching for - a proper hardcore racing simulation on par with those found on PC. The announcement comes in the form of a trailer that focuses on the insane Ferrari FXX K, which in itself is the cover car for the Assetto Corsa console retail releases and will mark the debut of the super-exclusive Maranello racecar in the game. And you can be safe in the knowledge that the content that has been released and come to PC will also be there on PS4 and Xbox One, with 505 Games (who should know right?!) confirming the Dream Packs, Bonus cars, laser-scanned tracks and everything else that has so far come to the PC will be there for the console too. The game will ship with over 90 cars from the everyday road-going to prototype racers and over 20 tracks, with locations including firm favourites Spa-Francorchamps, Monza, and Nürburgring-Nordschleife. Kunos is prioritising 60fps and indications point at PS4 being 1080p and Xbox One 900p. This is a game that's more gameplay over graphics anyway and to finally be getting a hardcore sim-racer that hasn't been completely neutered back on consoles is good to see. Key Features Tailored to perfection - Over eighty cars are available to choose from, plus special editions, reproduced in collaboration with the most prestigious automotive manufacturers, each one authentic and unique in both characteristics and handling. Legendary Circuits including Silverstone Circuit, Monza, and Nürburgring-Nordschleife, all recreated using Laser Scan technology so that each bump, curb and slope is a perfect match to the real counterpart. Precision Physics bring a new dimension to the car and track, from tyre flat spots & heat cycles to the dynamic simulation of the tyre rubber deposited on track and recreated light conditions based on geographical coordinates. Multiple Race Modes include Career mode, special and unique events and challenges. Fully customizable single player and multiplayer modes include quick races, race weekends including free practice sessions, qualifying session, drag races, drift challenges and more! Tuning & Driver Assist profiles allow the overall racing experience to be further modified by adjusting everything from car attributes to collision damage to let players of any proficiency with a joypad or supported racing wheel. As is customary these days you will ecstatic to hear that there is a Pre-order promo for Assetto Corsa on consoles, do this and you will get yourself the Performance Pack for free, which includes these three cars: Ferrari 488 GTB Audi R8 V10 Plus Chevrolet Corvette C7 But wait a minute here! The Audi was a free bonus for the PC not too long ago so could that mean the other two are coming to PC as bonus cars too, or has some of the content been given the old switcheroo between the platforms?
  13. Movie master JonZ is back with another creation - this time showing off Assetto Corsa content
  14. Kunos Simulazioni has released a first preview video of Brands Hatch, the newest track to join their Assetto Corsa title. Brands Hatch will be part of Assetto Corsa’s third “Dream DLC” content pack that is due to be released on December 15! Massarutto said that the Dream pack 3 will have Brands Hatch and 7 cars, but in an interview he revealed only 6 of them: Lotus 25 Lotus 72D McLaren 650 GT3 Mercedes AMG GT3 Cinquecento Abarth Assetto Corse (NKP car) Ford Escort MK1 There will be a bonus content released before Christmas and a new license revealed on december 31.
  15. Bonus pack 2 is on the way to be released soon...the amount of content is not yet confirmed. the track in the picture looks like Brands hatch. Cars: - Audi R8 Plus Track: - Brands hatch (not confirmed)

  17. Kunos Simulazioni has shared an outlook on the improvements players can expect from the upcoming 1.1 version of their Assetto Corsa simulation. Graphics We are redefining some features related to post processing effects, HDR and particle rendering optimizations that improve graphics environment, lighting and framerate performance. The engine has been optimized in order to guarantee a more stable framerate in all conditions, including single-player and multiplayer races. Smoke effects have been also improved, fixing an issue that affected the performances when huge amount of smoke was generated, especially at race starts. Artificial intelligence CPU occupancy has been optimized to guarantee better and more stable performance. Furthermore, we worked to improve interaction of AI with each other and against the player car, as well as their “racing attitude”. The result is less collision accidents, better and more predictable lines and greatly improved race starts, delivering a better racing experience. Flag and rules The next build will introduce race flag and rules, including yellow, blue and black flags, both in single and in multiplayer. More details regarding this feature will be available at the release. Overcast conditions Next build will introduce the option to define the sky/weather conditions: player can choose between light/heavy fog, clean/light/heavy cloud, that affect lighting, visibility, track temperature, and so on, adding more immersion, different racing scenarios and environmental effects. As usual all the conditions are moddable and new ones can be created by the community. Damages, views and sounds Several parameters and functionalities related to damages, head movements, mirrors FOV values, reverberation and environmental sounds have been added or optimized, improving the overall driving and replay experience. Replays Assetto Corsa replays are universally appreciated for their fidelity, resulting in very realistic movements, car behaviour and camera management, but resulting also in high requirements in terms of hard disk and memory space. Unfortunately such big files are not easily handled by players who join or organize leagues and online championships. Next build will add quality settings options that allow up to 4x smaller sizes and longer replays. Pre-order and release date Assetto Corsa is not in Early Access anymore but that doesn’t mean that development is finished. As promised, the Dream Pack will also include several improvements, optimizations and new features. All the new code features will also be included for free on the main simulation, to allow gamers to enjoy Assetto Corsa and the new Dream Pack even more. However the process needs time to be completed. The release of the Dream Pack and of Assetto Corsa 1.1 is confirmed for Q1 2015. Thank you very much for understanding, for your kind support and passion.
  18. In a recent interview with Red Bull Games, Kunos Simulazioni’s Marco Massarutto revealed details on the upcoming Bonus Pack for Assetto Corsa. As announced before, the bonus pack will include five cars, one of which is the Audi Quattro, as well as a new track: Zandvoort. Unlike the Dream Pack, the bonus pack will be released for free: “Currently we are working on the Bonus Pack, and that will be available as a free download for all users; we would like to release within a couple of months. We are still waiting for some approvals from our licensors, so I can’t go deeply in details yet, but I’m sure that Zandvoort and the five cars included will make our followers very happy.” While the Bonus Pack will be free, Kunos is already planning to add more content to Assetto Corsa with the next paid DLC as the Dream Pack 2 has been confirmed to be in development: “We are also working on the Dream Pack 2, and that will include cars from Audi, Lamborghini and more – with some surprises – and will also feature the Circuit of Catalunya, which is currently in development. There is some other important news that will be disclosed soon; I can only say that we want to surprise our players even more.” Via Red Bull Games
