That's pretty expensive . For that money you can build a i7 system.

I should go for the following:

Case

Cooler Master 690 (you can buy a new sidepanel for it with window)

Processor

AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition (3.2GHz)

Motherboard

Gigabyte GA-MA790XT-UD4P

HDD

Samsung Spinpoint F1 HD103UJ, 1TB

DVD-drive

Samsung SH-S223F

RAM

Kingston ValueRAM KVR800D2N5K2/4G (4GB)

Kingston ValueRAM KVR800D2N5K2/4G (4GB)

Graphics

Ati 4870 512 MB or 1GB (if you're going to play on high resolutions)

Power supply

Corsair TX750W

Operating system

Windows Vista Home Premium or Windows Vista Ultimate 64 bit (because 32bit doesnt support more than 3,25GB RAM)

Half true, it all depends on the whole setup of the system as to how much RAM Windows will recognise, BIOS will usually recognise the full amount, although it has been known not to.

It's pretty complex, and I can't be arsed typing an essay. Google is your friend on this one.

32bit only recognizes 4GB of TOTAL system memory, so that includes graphics memory, CPU cache etc.

dont go for an original phenom as they are awful. Phenom II is a good choice, that or a Core 2

It is a build it yourself rig & that price is dirt cheap here. I was hoping for a bit more ram but atleast it's PC5300 RAM.

PC5300 is the worst kind of DDR2. You should go for PC6400 or better

Did you actually convert it from AUD to EUR? His comes out at €814 which is over a hundred cheaper than what you quoted later on.

Yes and no, sometimes the system robs ram before Windows sees it. Hence I said google it as it's pretty complex and can be very different from machine to machine. :)

I'm kinda partial to Nvidia since i know a bit about their cards.

You're nuts Nvidia cards are too expensive for what you get

But with you're AMD processor and a Ati card you can easily overclock your pc.

Not interested in overclocking. Too much chance i'd bugger my PC.

Did i forgot to say better bang for buck? :)

Anyway why dont you go for on off these processors?

AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition (3,2 GHz) socket AM3

AMD Phenom II X4 945 (3,0 GHz) socket AM3

AMD Phenom II X4 940 (3,0 GHz) socket AM2+
