annoying problem and no clues

Hi.

 

I have an annoying problem since a few days. My TDU ran very well the last month since re-installation. Just at "medium" detail, but it was okay.

I haven´t had any bucking or anything.

 

Now, since a few days, the game judders constantly. I am really p*ed off, the game isn´t funny this way.

 

For example, everytime when I pass other cars, my computer starts to "work" (I can´t find the right English word - I mean, it starts to grumble and the harddisk light flashes) and the game judders!!

 

I really don´t have any clues WHY it happens. I didn´t change anything!!

 

- graphic drivers are newest

- firewall is off while playing (only offline)

 

I also had the game freeze yesterday and the day before. This didn´t happen since MONTH.

 

Does anybody know what to do? I can´t play TDU any longer and I really start to hate it.

Try defragging your hard drive and the registry, and clean up any unused files to free up disk space

Also, do you have loads of mods installed? If you do, try getting rid of some of them. About 3 months ago I started having serious lag attacks, when my FPS dropped to like 1-2 for about 15 seconds. With a reinstall though that problem was gone.

Yeah, I have many car mods, but not all. And I have the "true of billbord"-mod.

 

It was all fine, but a few days ago something went wrong. :mad:

 

I thought about a re-installation, but I am not sure...how can I save my profile and play my old savegame when it´s re-installed? :confused:

In the 'My Documents' folder on your PC is a folder called Test Drive Unlimited. You should copy that whole folder to somewhere else on your PC - or ideally a USB stick. And always make regular backups of it in case your PC crashes or whatever. ;)

Sounds to me as if the Radial.cdb file is getting too large. You can use the delete tool that's on the Atari forums (HERE)

I just checked the radial - only 4kb, can´t be the reason, right?:confused:

Ah, okay. I'd delete it anyway. I tend to delete mine every week
