u only get the kit with the 120gb.....

If i was you i wouldnt buy it from a company like that, there alot of 'fakes' that only let you copy the data to your computer the you have to upload that to your other hardrive....

Your best bet is go on ebay and buy a used transfer kit for around $18

Yea you can use them multiple times, the blurb is slightly misleading. The transfer kit allows you to go up in memory capacity. So as long as the HDD you are transferring too is bigger than then one the data is currently on it will work.

I borrowed a transfer kit of a mate and it didnt work :( Ive noticed migration kits have come down alot in price now as they used to be £20/£30.

Yea they were free but you had to give the console code of an elite. It was for people who upgraded from the xbox360 arcade/pro to the Elite :P

You can still get them from MS even without a new xbox or an elite.

Important Content can be moved only to a destination disk that is the same size as or larger than the source disk. Also, the content can be moved only one time. For example, the following Xbox 360 Hard Drive pairings enable data transfer from source to (">") destination:

20GB > 20GB

20GB > 60GB

20GB > 120GB

20GB > 250GB

60GB > 60GB

60GB > 120GB

60GB > 250GB

120GB > 120GB

120GB > 250GB

250GB > 250GB

Oki. I brought the HDD (60GB) off ebay. It was from an ebay shop but I have a question.

*if data has been transferred data from the 60GB to another one can I still put data onto the 60GB from my 20GB?*

Posted

If the previous owner upgraded to a bigger HDD then the 60GB he sold you will be blank. So yes you can move your data over.

The transfer kit wipes the drive the data was coming from upon completion of the transfer.

Oki. Just plugged the 60Gb one ine (the one ile be upgrading too). Theres no gamesaves but however there are wallpapers which he has downloaded himself. Will this still be ok to copy data too?

I expect the transfer kit would erase them anyway, but it may be worth reformatting that drive before you move anything to it. You can reformat it via system settings.
