Bad news,Porsche Hybrid...

And on top of that it's in race car...

Here is the pic

I would like to see you're opinion about this one.

I googled it, and apparently its "hybrid" system recovers kinetic energy while braking, so that it can be later used as "boost" (much like KERS in F1 cars). So it's not so bad I suppose.

More info here.

Well, you see, that is true,BUT (big bad but) Porsche should be all about power, speed, ruining our beloved planet, and not to be sensible.Maybe you are right...

Btw you're nick is going perfect with this car:):):):)

I read the link HTF posted, and this sounds interesting. The electric motor delivers it's power to the front wheels, so it could be used in tight corners, uphill climbs, or in case of an emergency for grip.. That's clever me thinks.. :)

However, I wouldn't like an all-electric Porsche.. :D

The only thing I'm regretting in this 'hybrid' world to come, is the inevitable lack of good engine sounds, especially the V8 rumble, V10 scream and the excitement that goes with it.. :)

I think it looks just as good as it should, and who knows, maybe this electric powered front wheel power will give it an upper hand in races. Seems like a good concept!

Like it or not to call it going backwards is simply false. The system it uses is actually very efficient, making use of otherwise expelled energy for the drivers benefit.

Yeah I know, some people just can't stand the thought of saving the planet, can they? /sarcasm

I really like it and I am all for saving the environment so I reckon it's a great use of new technology.

Imo, it's more for them gaining an advantage and for publicity than "saving the environment" anyway. It's also quite logical. What is the point of wasting energy during breaking when it can be stored in such a way that it can then be used again?

I said "saving the environment" like that because all humans have done/are doing is speeding up the planets natural carbon cycle. Before anyone moans at me.
