That's how it's supposed to be, the only way to stop that is to continuously hold the accelerator down or put the car into neutral.

That's known as "Stalling" if you turn auto clutch off, you'll need to have a control device (Such as Steering wheel or pad) to use as a clutch.

 

I hope you know how clutches work, but if not, all you need to do is

-Once stopped, hold the clutch in all the way

 

To start moving,

-Press the accelerator gently to raise the engine rpm

-release the clutch slowly to find the "biting point" of the clutch

 

Once the car is moving,

-release the clutch altogether

 

To change gears,

-Release the accelerator

-hold the clutch in all the way

-change into the next/previous gear

-release the clutch

-press the accelerator to continue accelerating in that gear.

 

Basically, to prevent the car from Stalling (Or "turning off") keep your eye on the engine RPM. if it drops below 1,500rpm, use a little more of the clutch to stop it from stalling..
