Monitor problem?

Hello.

Recently my monitor has been having problems, the pictures keeps going really dull when I turn the computer on, whenever a program requires permission to run, whenever I play TDU (all the time when I play TDU) and even when i'm watching YT videos on full screen. I'm not sure if anyone will be able to help without actually looking at the computer themselves, but does anyone have any ideas as to what it could be? It's very annoying, and whenever it does this i have to turn the monitor off and back on to get the brightness back, however now, when I turn it off, it won't turn back on again, the blue 'on' light just flashes repeatedly.

It may not sound like much of a problem but it's increasingly annoying. I'd just like to know if it's a problem with my computer (like the graphics card) or infact my monitor. It shouldn't be a Nvidia drivers problem, since i've not long ago updated the drivers.

Any help would be appreciated, even if it is letting me know I need someone to look at it.

Thanks.

Do you have Dynamic Contrast enabled? My monitor goes really dark when viewing certain things, but that's fixed by toning down the intensity of it (Go through your monitor menu)

Another thing is: Take out the VGA/HDI cable and give it a good blow.. (not like that :p) Get rid of the dust on both the cable and the graphics card.

Another step would be to see whether anything's changed in the NCP (Nvidia Control Panel)

I can't see Dynamic Contrast in the monitor menu, unless it's in another place like Display settings, then i'll have to have another look.

Thanks for the help, i'll try the other 2 aswell. :)
